  • I have an exciting painting project coming up. A collab painting with another South African artist friend Angelika Anastasis and I want to know if you want me to take you along for the creative journey? There is sure to be plenty of flowers, colour and expressive marks of paint.
Let me know in the comments below if you would like me to share the creative process with you...
I also share a special spray mixture I make up to spray my acrylic, watercolor and gouache paint with, to stop mould (or mold depending on where you live) growing on the damp surface. A good artist tip from my art studio to help you take good care of your art supplies too and prevent wasting paint.

I would like to ask, can i spritz it on my canvas painting to prevent it from getting mould

My apologies for not answering sooner, I missed your question. I’m not sure that it would prevent mould on the back of a canvas as the alcohol evaporates when not sealed, so it may just evaporate off the surface whereas spritzing your paints then closing them seals in the moisture but stops the moisture growing mould and the alcohol doesn’t evaporate as it’s sealed. However like with most things I always say give it a try on a test piece, it’s worth giving something a try but I unfortunately can’t speak from experience there. If you try it, do let me know what you find, it’s always interesting and so helpful when we discover things to help one another 👍🏻

I forgot to add that if mold is already present spritzing with an alcohol solution and wiping away can help remove it but I’m not sure that it would be a prevention method before the mold is present.
