Johnny, I thoroughly enjoyed your refurbishment of your existing workbench! I do not particularly care for your "custom (seafoam green) color," but to each his own as the saying goes. I really think that the drawer front turned out amazingly cool and quite genius! Well done, Johnny!
Gridfinity is great! On the off chance that you have Ikea Alex drawers, they're a near-perfect fit in those too. I printed a couple of spacers to get the base plates centered, there are a couple of screws on the inside of the drawers, but any boxes clear those screws if the grid is centered.
Beautiful looking drawer fronts and great looking cabinet overall. I lived in a house during college and it won’t tell you on line what my buddies gave it for a name, that shade of green reminded them of something.
Really great upgrades, thoroughly enjoyed this one. And dude, you have gotten SO GOOD at explaining your processes. I learn something every time. Thank you as always!
Looks great! I want to get rid of the many storage boxes that I have and have started looking into the gridfinity system. Seems like a very good solution. I hated having to dig into the little compartments, so I printed some bins to fit inside each space so I could take them out like you mentioned. Being able to print bigger ones to hold the full boxes will be even sweeter. - Chris
Great video. Looks great. I actually used your plans a couple years ago built one. I was just a little concerned about the weight of the whole thing so I actually welded up a tray out of angle iron for the table to sit in. I welded some "tabs" at each corner to mount the casters and feet. Still love it.
Gridfinity is awesome....just takes for freaking ever to print all the pieces. I've been modifying a lot of files to have them print faster. Lots of "lights out" manufacturing happening.
Probably wont get to see this, but id just like to let you know that ive been subscribed for years and still have no interest in finished carpentry because i have no patience for it, but i just love learning stuff. You want me to build you a deck? Sure, no problem. Carpentry like this? Id rather burn down my house 😂. What im getting at is that you have great videos and i always love learning with each one. Always enjoy your content.
Nice work! it looks awesome 👌 You can add a vertical divider in the back area to share the load on the new bottom 4:37 with the table top when fork lifting the table. it does not have to be permanent
Very nice project. I totally agree on the utility of the pallet jack. What discoloration is that on the bottom drawers? Is it just the light playing tricks on the camera?
Catching the handles... Some of us are cursed. I caught my belt loop on a door handle today. It wasn't sticking out and I had things on my belt. If only the lottery worked that way for me...
Im too busy working to gain organization right now lol. Im hoping for 1 day off this week... But im hoping for 1 day off every week and rarely get it. Im booked for the next 2-3 months right now.
I really love the design on that panel. I am curious though why you would use epoxy there instead of just some paint. Isn't the epoxy just a much more expensive and less environmentally friendly option?
I just ordered some Schaffer bins a few days ago. The gridfinity system looks better, but not buying more equipment, picking up a new distraction I mean hobby, and waiting for the prints better.
I wanted to ask, your new shop, which is amazing by the way, had someone else build of building it and was using it as a shop when you bought it? I swear that it looks exactly like a shop another guy built on his channel. The old west style front facade, and the way there is a build up of soil to the garage bay door. There is a side door on the left side of the building to?? Just curious.
For the drawers, rather than CA glue or the stickers, couldn't you have put down a few lengths of non-slip tape? One quick peel to stick to drawer, and go from there. Though I'm not sure the 3M nonslip tape is as tacky as the stickers doodads, I figure a little less drag over a greater surface area would solve that. Just a thought, anyway. Haven't built much of anything yet, certainly ain't organized, so it's a genuine question as to whether there'd be any advantage. :P Only came to mind because I just used the tape for a couple sets of painter's pyramids I printed last week. A month ago, before I used the stuff, I might have floated using velcro; I tend to prioritize what I have on hand over what's ideal these days. Can lead to derpy mistakes, sometimes, but learning is a process. If you want to excel, you've first got to make peace that you're going to fail, basically. :P
Somebody tell me what ferris is talking about in that clip please. Is it the car? Ive watched that movie like 40 times but for some reason cant seem to remember what hes talking about. Im aware this is completely unrelated to Johnny's video, but humor me lol
That divider/organization system is cool but seems like a pretty blatant knockoff of Alexander Chapelle's system. Or maybe he stole their design? He seemed to be coming up with something new in his videos on it.
"Which I use on most of my furniture products because of its durability".... lol more like because Total Boat is a big player in the TH-cam marketing platform and pays you to use thier stuff. Why does nobody ever admit they are sponsored?....... I know, I know, you were never sponsored by Total Boat and its a total coincidence that you use the same exact products as literally every other wood working channel
Those drawer fronts are amazing, I totally get your wife saying "Build me a dresser like this" - this isn't regular shop furniture, this is fine shop furniture!
I've caught the Gridfinity system bug also. Its taking me a lifetime to print my bins and bases as I have a single old Ender-3 3D printer not two fancy Bambu Labs ones.
Fun fact mold is just as bad for you dead or alive the only difference is dead mold cannot reproduce. That's why it is always best to remove mold or to incapsulate it.
It came after. Zack Freedman talks about it in his video announcing gridfinity. I also paid for Alexander's system but it hasn't been expanded upon like Gridfinity and now I'm printing Multiboard/Multigrid as there is compatibility with my Gridfinity stuff.
Zack admits to kind of ripping off Alexandre’s system but Gridfinity has become its own thing at this point. The best thing is I didn’t have to model a single thing, all of the files were found on Printables.
I’m glad you did a refurb, and I had colour doubts, but it turned out really good. The colour is cheerful, and goes very well with the wood/grey epoxy pattern. I also got lots of ideas for my workshop build/organisation. I’ve been procrastinating on the drawers, but I can see how they’ll work now. Good timing, Thanks for the video 🤓😁
I hate you. I don’t want to build shelves and print all that gridfinity stuff (I’ve got a Prusa mk4, so I’m well aware of it). It just seems like so much work and I’d rather just buy something (but $$$$ as I’ve found out). Watching this now I *do* want to build and print it myself. I hate you, I didn’t need another project 😂
That looks incredible Johnny! If those were available commercially, they would be very popular. Someone could make themselves a successful business just making quality custom shop cabinets.
Hey Johnny! Great project restoration! Yeah, in the color build, you never add the lighter color to the darker. Always add little by little the darker to the lighter because the darker ones are always a LOT more powerful. Sorry you had to learn it the hard way. Next time, if you make the same mistake, at least change bucket but don't add the whole mix into it. Pour a new bag of yellow into the empty bucket and then add the mix little by little. Otherwise it seems endless and you will waste tons of paint. Now I'm curious to know what green were you looking forward to. Was it more of a lettuce green? Kind of festool/featherboard pro green? I like the pulls! Excited to see a new woodworking video from you 😊

That's funny. You stumbled one our corporate color, that we affectionately call Lube-Tech green. Looks great!
No one ever seems to just refurb a bench, so this was a cool video for that. It can be done!!
Yea, I figured it would have cost me at least $500 to build a new one and this would have ended up in a landfill. Win win!
Johnny, I thoroughly enjoyed your refurbishment of your existing workbench!
I do not particularly care for your "custom (seafoam green) color," but to each his own as the saying goes.
I really think that the drawer front turned out amazingly cool and quite genius!
Well done, Johnny!
I've been looking to build a new shop bench for a while now, this is perfect timing!
Perfect! This bench is really great, there isn’t much I’d change about it personally.
Amazing work, Johnny! The table's looking great! Really well done! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks! You too!
Love the drawer fronts

Good to know, I have some of those in my office area!
Your creativity and skill are truly impressive. Thanks for showing us what's possible with a little elbow grease and ingenuity.
Love the geometric drawer fronts! That is really cool!
Great video as always! I like the clips where you are thinking out loud… haha
Hah, I didn’t realize how much I talk to myself while I work! Thanks bud 🤘
Beautiful looking drawer fronts and great looking cabinet overall. I lived in a house during college and it won’t tell you on line what my buddies gave it for a name, that shade of green reminded them of something.

So satisfying to watch. Well done dude.
So very nice & so cool. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!!!
Gridfinity is awesome....just takes for freaking ever to print all the pieces. I've been modifying a lot of files to have them print faster. Lots of "lights out" manufacturing happening.
Definitely plenty of overnight printing!
Absolutely LOVE the drawer fronts. Absolutely HATE the body color choice. LOL to each his own. Great work!
Love the color and design! Looks so great!
Thanks so much!
Probably wont get to see this, but id just like to let you know that ive been subscribed for years and still have no interest in finished carpentry because i have no patience for it, but i just love learning stuff. For my new shop building I also got a pallet jack and it's absolutely a great thing to have around.
I use it way more than I expected!
Nice work! it looks awesome 👌
You can add a vertical divider in the back area to share the load on the new bottom 4:37 with the table top when fork lifting the table. it does not have to be permanent
Great idea!
Your gridfinity bins are back to front - the edge gives you space to label but is also the edge to lift them from by poking a finger or two beneath!
You put on some weight. Bulking up for beach season? Me too
Started lifting again now that my collar bone is healed back up!
Preciate the inspiration.
This is inspiration so I can finally organize my situation.
I really enjoy this kind of content. Great vid.
Glad you enjoy it!
Looks Great! Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
I remember when you made this table. Nice work!
Thanks! It definitely deserved a little refresher, I still use it on pretty much every project.
Not normally one to talk about the high end tools in a video, but a pallet jack? Clearly your in a different league than me. 😅
Hah, I know it’s a little out of the ordinary but you can get used ones on marketplace for like $200. Great for moving around heavy stuff!
Turned out great!
Very nice project. I totally agree on the utility of the pallet jack.
What discoloration is that on the bottom drawers? Is it just the light playing tricks on the camera?
Great job as always, well done!
Did you just get a 100% wife approval factor on a workshop project??? That's pretty cool haha
Really nice and efficient work table excellent design
Thank you very much!
Catching the handles... Some of us are cursed. I caught my belt loop on a door handle today. It wasn't sticking out and I had things on my belt. If only the lottery worked that way for me...
Dang man! I want to be given one of these sweet printers! That’s awesome
Love it! Let me know if you want any STV Racking trays for them!
DUDE! Great video an upgrade! ty
Im too busy working to gain organization right now lol. Im hoping for 1 day off this week... But im hoping for 1 day off every week and rarely get it.
Im booked for the next 2-3 months right now.
Even if the mold is dead... I'd go full on new table!!
But besides my fear of mold EPIC TABLE REDO
Gridfinity!!!! Say goodbue to the forseeabyfutire as now you'll want to organize your entire life with Gridfinity
Next project: The spray booth. ;)
No kidding!
awesome video man! i really like your approach to things
Thanks!
The green is off. It does match your Festool green.
May the triforce be with you.
Palet jack what about the Harvey dust collector
Looks pretty cool. Nice work! :)
Glad you like it!
Great video
Excellent!!!
I really love the design on that panel. I am curious though why you would use epoxy there instead of just some paint. Isn't the epoxy just a much more expensive and less environmentally friendly option?
wahou beautiful !! is it possible to just have 3D printer plans please ?
I just ordered some Schaffer bins a few days ago. The gridfinity system looks better, but not buying more equipment, picking up a new distraction I mean hobby, and waiting for the prints better.
This was for nuts and bolts and small parts storage though…so good enough for that purpose.
Yea I have a similar system for my nuts and bolts and it definitely works great.
Not gonna lie, that storage system has me wanting to buy a 3D printer, especially the sand paper storage
Do you miss the toe kick after installing the skids?
I call it Miami-green
Where’d you get the file for the cookie storage tray?! New into 3D printing and that’s awesome!
I wanted to ask, your new shop, which is amazing by the way, had someone else build of building it and was using it as a shop when you bought it? I swear that it looks exactly like a shop another guy built on his channel. The old west style front facade, and the way there is a build up of soil to the garage bay door. How do I get my hands on a file for the sand paper storage? 😅😬
Somebody got dosh 💰

So... two "Total Coats" 😆6:59
С Органайзерами крутая идея
Somebody tell me what ferris is talking about in that clip please. Is it the car? Ive watched that movie like 40 times but for some reason cant seem to remember what hes talking about. Im aware this is completely unrelated to Johnny's video, but humor me lol
Love the video, love the workbench, that green is so horrible
Hah, definitely on the bright side but I dig it!
Labelling the back of the drawer fronts is such an Arlo move...
I forgot how great Ferris Bueller was...
A classic for sure!
That divider/organization system is cool but seems like a pretty blatant knockoff of Alexander Chapelle's system. Or maybe he stole their design? He seemed to be coming up with something new in his videos on it.
NGL with the epoxy it looks more like a cheap sticker, was better without
That pattern give me a headache.
Oh, oh, my goodness! That green is putrid!!. I love the drawer fronts with the design, but my goodness man are you color blind??
You might want to pick someone other than a murderer(actor not character) for your pop reference clips...

+1 for gridfinity! Props to Voidstar Labs!

I've caught the Gridfinity system bug also. Its taking me a lifetime to print my bins and bases as I have a single old Ender-3 3D printer not two fancy Bambu Labs ones.
I bet that does take forever! I guess you can just take it one drawer at a time though.
Fun fact mold is just as bad for you dead or alive the only difference is dead mold cannot reproduce. That's why it is always best to remove mold or to incapsulate it.
Was Gridfinity around before Alexandre Chappel's design?

cool video! Gridfinity is amazing!
Hello Johnny, great vid and build. Could you please share a link to the geometric pattern. Thanks.
can you sell me the bench cookie holders and the sandpaper holders?
@achappel ,Is this not your system? Or a ripoff?
I’m glad you did a refurb, and I had colour doubts, but it turned out really good. The colour is cheerful, and goes very well with the wood/grey epoxy pattern. lol it’s worth it! Incredible how much better my storage is now, but the printing was a little tedious!
Love the drawers, hate the unsymmetry tho
Draw fronts way to busy for a shop.
Nice Build very organized....but sorry have disagree with your wife.....the green sorta color is far from gorgeous .....
Stay safe and we'll see you next time.
Thanks!
Gridfinity is the best. I printed the gridfinity carousel from Printables and it is fantastic.
I use much smaller drawers for the screws. Then I take the refill containers and I put them further away.
I received clear direction from the chemist at Gougeon Bros that hardener is like fine wine, it only gets better.
Awesome!
Thanks man!
Very nice. I painted the walls in my new shop a similar color.
Nice to see Voidstar Labs influence has made it this far.
That looks incredible Johnny!
If those were available commercially, they would be very popular. Someone could make themselves a successful business just making quality custom shop cabinets.
That would be cool! I know not everyone has access to 3D printers.
back to woodworking projects when your shop is ten times better than the majority of most amateur wood working shops. point taken and out
Looks awesome
Why there's no music? The video was akwardly quiet, at least for me
Didn’t know Perkins Bro #3 does woodworking. Huh.
That’s how I started, plenty more coming soon!
