Technicians in the other data-recovery videos are practically wearing anti-Ebola protection suits while they work on a drive. This guy is blowing on the platters, wiping the top platter at one point with a Kleenex or something, touching everything without wearing gloves, jostling the drive and its loose components, and roughly using a screwdriver. I know very, very little about this magic art of data recovery, but I cringed when he began squeezing the disassembled heads at about 23:00. Is this the company Seagate uses if you take advantage of the two-year data recovery included with their drives I just saw at Costco?
whats beats me is that this is an actual data recovery company. opens the drive and blows into it *smh* plays with heads and puts the cover back on. 31:22 also that drive is a 160 GB and the drive that you "fixed" is a 500 GB. also btw, GIGABYTE NOT GIGAHERTZ!

Anyone who uses a drive that's been refurbished or had data recovered like this one, deserves a total drive failure. There are so many things wrong with this video however, if they were able to recover the data, who cares if they trashed the drive? I sure wouldn't.
how to check the drive to see if anything was written to it before it stopped working? the white light on my wd external drive doesnt come on, it worked on my old pc, not on new one, i tried a laptop i couldn't figure out. please help I can still rma wd but dont want to until i verify nothing is on the drive.
