Chinese methods of training involve more intensity from a younger age so become physically limited earlier. China stops investing in players soon after reaching 30, even if they are the best in the world, rather invest in youngsters who will represent china at world and Olympic games in the future. Wang would not get selected to compete in future Olympics/ world championships. Wang could compete in any table tennis league in the world/enter the pro tour but he probably only cares about Olympic and world titles. Also Wang may no longer be welcome the CNT training sessions, would he still be the same player without the same intensity of practice that he has had since being a youngster, or would his playing level fall?
