One of the best feelings in life is discovering your new favorite song completely by accident. Me and my sisters were on vacation in Hawaii taking the scenic route to a black sand beach when I decided to put on a random playlist on Spotify. Never even heard of this band and this song came on. It was perfect. Now all I can think of when I hear this song is driving through Big Island in a jeep with my sisters. 🏝

I'm just reflecting how making a CGI character dance is probably way cheaper now than it is back then. While back in the day using puppets for a music video is probably more economical. I bet you it was pricier to produce this video with puppets than CGI.

I was in a real foul mood but this Muppet's sick moves and this chill beat has honestly turned my mood around. Don't underestimate the power of puppet dance and funky bass man.

Just like the message in the video in comparison to the lyrics; “all day swimming, under the palm trees, look how they gracefully sway, some kinda gin drink, some kinda jewelry some kind of fancy machine” The puppet is controlled by drugs; life of the party- party as life. and they hide the dark reason of drinking- by partying. so over the course the puppet is deteriorating while partying. starting off fresh, clean, happy, livin’ to the crying (tears) and rusted look- decaying of the false rich party life many in actually any social status - but perhaps all or maybe the highest one?
Yes, there is a ton of symbolism to the conscious. He's always played this way! More entertaining than any film I've seen in the last eight years with maybe 3 exceptions.
The phone part hit the nail about the "Always gonna be about that life", they need to have attention, taking a selfie by a pool, living the best life people always imagine of living.

The lyrics to this beautiful song are as sublime as the puppetry. This is a modern masterpiece IMO.
It has been nearly 3 months since I first heard this. It is the most persistent earworm I have had in my life! It will have faded during a busy afternoon, but as soon as I'm vacuuming, cooking, cleaning, washing-up, having a bath or just lying in bed trying to get to sleep.. it wriggles its way out of its hiding place in my brain then decides to play on repeat inside my head. Don't get me wrong; it is an amazing tune, so much so I want to degauss my head. 🤯

Today, I've had a traffic jam on the Highway, the sun was shining nicely despite Fall, I had no hurries, and had been feeling myself caught up in a depression for some years.
So, I had stopped the car waiting in the jam, switched through the radio channels. When I tuned in the next channel at the exact moment the chorus "That Life" hit.
It's been quite a while a song had me like that. In an instant. I felt this song matching my mood so perfectly, then again cheering me up so much that I almost started crying. Not crying sadness, but a shade of joy I hadn't felt for at least 365 days.
I thank you very much for that good, good song, that guitar and voice! I already know it's going to be one of my all-life favorites, always remembering me of that one particular moment waiting in a traffic jam when I felt nothing much but my usual emptiness.

Just discovered the actual music video yesterday and I just love it so much. It's so raw and real and I think a lot of people can seriously relate to it.
The fact that it's a facade and there's puppeteers controlling his every move is how it feels to be suffering from an addiction and I think they really hit the nail on the head with that.
God the backing vocals are so beautiful when you really listen to them too.
