So I assume if you connect it to a regulated power supply it works without controller and changing the voltage changes temp? Am I correct? So what temp does it gets when connected directly to 12V

That is a genius way of connecting a T12 soldering iron on a budget, even without the controller. If you add a thermister and a vibration component and you can use this with your basic controller. With the way you connected it, you can easily use the perf board for that.

usb 2 supports less current than usb c , i think usb 2 max 2 Amp and usb c 5 Amp
