Best coverage by Autodeal as expected. However, we still don't know the battery chemistry on this thing. Is the battery an LFP (lithium ferrous phosphate)? I'm hoping it is, since LFP batteries can easily last over 6000 charge cycles at 80% DOD (depth of discharge). Assuming you do 1 full charge cycle per day (bale long distance, sagad mileage every day), it'll take you over 16 years for the battery to be replaced (6000/365=16.4). Competitors in the same price range like the MG EV4 only have a li-ion battery, which is a turn off for me.
@@PsychedMedia Good to know. It's so annoying that auto journalists in the PH never talk about the battery chemistry of the models released here. That should not be overlooked. In addition to a much longer service life, LFP batteries are also far safer. You can puncture them and subject them to higher heat than li-ion and it still won't catch fire.

I never have a PHEV car and I'm a bit curious. Can both the engine and the motor work by itself? I mean if (God forbid) one of them error or break down or having trouble, will the car still start and running with the ones not broken? Same question for an HEV, though I suspect on HEV the electric motor won't work individually because it is relatively small and being charged by the engine. But can the engine still start if there's a problem with the motor? Anyone can help answering this? Thank you, much appreciated :)
For mild parallel hybrids the engine will always be on and the motors will supply additional power only. Think Okavango and Suzuki Ertiga. For full parallel hybrids like the Corolla Cross Alphard Camry and Zenix, the batteries can run the car on its own at moderate speeds less than 49 kph. Until they deplete. Then the engine will charge them while running the wheels. In both cases the engine is connected to the wheels. So if the batteries go bust the car will still function as a normal internal combustion car. This BYD is a different case. This is a series PHEV. Basically a Nissan Kicks but with a bigger battery and a plug to physically charge the batteries sa outlet. In both cases however, (to put it simply) no engine only a genset to charge the battery (therefore in BYD’s case you can charge the batteries via a plug or the genset). For both cases the battery needs to be in full working condition, otherwise the car wont move. Parallel - engine and electric motors power the wheels Series - only the electric motors power the wheels
Since your question has been answered already by the first commenter. Byd is the first one who made a Phev vehicle, and thic vehicle made BYD a top brand/best selling model in China sold averaging 60k units this year and been leading in sales since it was launched 4 years ago.
@@KaisiirFlynn BYD was NOT the FIRST. The honor goes to the Renault Elect’road introduced in 2003. This however was a modification of the Renault Kangoo. This is a sugestion to improve buddy.. since most vlogers focus more on accesories which most car users are already familiar with even in ICE users, and DM i tech is quite new if its gonna be the same like nissan kicks e power, or dual motor phev
You can watch all day but you can not get all the information you want unless you ask. Nobody knows what you're thinking, so you better ask the question. Nothing is perfect in this world. And perhaps you can do your own research if you're not satisfied, boy. 😂
The price of this car is tempting and you want to jump in immediately if you have the money. Of course hybrid is the way to go but think about the 2nd time. After you use the car for let say 4 years and you want to sell it, chances are it will lose approximately 50% of its value compared to ICE car which could lose 40% only. The depreciation value of EV and Hydrid cars are much higher compared to ICE car. Unless you will use the car on its entire battery life span then this car is feasible. But then after 8 years of battery warranty, are you going to change the battery to continue using the car or to be able to sell it? I don't think someone will still buy a used hybrid. Some will say the fuel savings are big which is undeniably true, but still you are stuck on the car and could not sell it.
I dont get how they r able to sell a phev at such a low price point? Heck, even a chinese ice vehicle r already at that price point. This phev package for that price is unbelievable
Overstock, alongside slower EV demand in China. Too much produced but not much market yet. That’s why they’re marketing this to Europe but yes Chinese automakers face tariffs. Once the market starts moving expect prices to increase. Just like Geely.
If you can charge it at home, how would it affect the electricity bill? Can someone please explain. Or maybe on a comparison with a home appliance, what would it be? A freezer? 2hp ac? 😅✌
To charge an 18kWh battery, and your electricity cost is about P10 per kWh, it will cost you P180 from zero to full charge. And that will get you to travel up to 100km on a single charge. That is impressive to me.
I appreciate the value for money of these Chinese EV's. Heck, I am an investor in one of these companies. Once I finish my current car payment, I might even consider getting one. ALTHOUGH I am a bit worried for our country. There's a reason why CCP subsidizes these cars, and why they are pushing the influx of these EV's here. Some mentioned they are just disposing old inventory. BUT think more LONG TERM: PH has lack of charging infrastructures (currently only from private institutions like SMDC, Ayala, SMC, etc.) I'm sure CCP is stoking the demand, so that when market demand for EV's and PHEVs becomes big enough, CCP WILL OFFER AN INFRASTRUCTURE DEAL to PH Government, which CCP will gain exorbitant amounts of money from, + a form of control over the country's mobility infrastructure, + a bargaining chip to soften PH stance in the West Philippine Sea tensions. I could be wrong, but this is how CCP operates.
CCP subsidies is Western propaganda because old car brands are way behind in EVs. Governments can subsidize products services which they believe is good for the country (ignoring politics/industry lobbying bribes)
Taiwan which has a long-standing political and territorial dispute with China has trade agreements with them. The Australian government has political issues with China but Chinese cars are ubiquitous on Australian roads. The point is, screw your political issues! The byd is very efficient in gas consumption because its combine with electric and gas (hybrid), the only problem for this byd is really fragile in flooded areas and the availability of spare parts.
Its using blade lfp
It is using BYD Blade LFP. The best 🎉 nothing to worry in charging cycle ans safety.

Parallel - engine and electric motors power the wheels
Series - only the electric motors power the wheels

Very nice vehicle! Simply amazing!
BUT think more LONG TERM:
PH has lack of charging infrastructures (currently only from private institutions like SMDC, Ayala, SMC, etc.)
I'm sure CCP is stoking the demand, so that when market demand for EV's and PHEVs becomes big enough, CCP WILL OFFER AN INFRASTRUCTURE DEAL to PH Government, which CCP will gain exorbitant amounts of money from, + a form of control over the country's mobility infrastructure, + a bargaining chip to soften PH stance in the West Philippine Sea tensions.
They are secondary when it comes to business and economics.🙂
Gotta love Chinese car manufacturers, they are pushing competitors to beat their price and features.
