How To Start Songwriting - Today’s video is about how to start songwriting. When starting out, I really wanted to write my own music but had no idea where to even begin. Often the case is that beginning to write a song and finding that original inspiration is the hardest part of the process. Please bear in mind that different things work for different people, so the best thing to do would be to try them all to see what works best for you!
This video goes over different ways people like to start writing a song and then I go through how I would write a song. This video is aimed at beginner to intermediate engineers, producers and artists.

Lately, I've been starting with idea and lyric, not because I'm a natural storyteller, but because lyrics are the hardest part to do. Once I get a draft of lyrics done, the music part is easy, as I'm a stronger musician than lyricist.

I start with a lyric first not sure what it’ll be. I’ve been writing lyrics since I was about I want to say 15 or so. Me and my best friend decided to take keyboard lessons after our first concert together. That was a very long time ago. I have some physical challenges so I’ll keep with keyboard. My motor skills are in the tank at least on one side of my body. Cerebral palsy for you. I’ve been at it for a very long time. Not a pro by any sense of the imagination. Enough of me talking. I’m out!
