  • Basic Acoustic Guitar EQ - Today’s video is about Basic Acoustic Guitar EQ. EQ’ing guitar can be tricky, even just identify the problem can be very time consuming. But the good news is that a lot of the trouble we face with acoustic guitars occurs around the same sort of frequency ranges. So in this video, we look at how to solve this.
    This video goes over the main problems you face with recording acoustic guitar, how to fix them and then examples of fixing each problem. We look at rumble, boominess, string noise, presence and dullness. This video is aimed at beginner to intermediate engineers, producers and artists.

    Hello,
    You explain very well, but I suggest you try a better microphone placement, perhaps in another environment, so you don't have to attenuate in the range where the acoustic guitar has its fundamentals and where it really reaches its sweet spot. The guitar is an instrument that must be very rich in the mid frequencies and in this example you focus more on the bass and treble.

    Good video. It would be nice to spend more time on the cause (mic placement) of most of these as opposed to fixing the symptoms.

    Well done - string noise can also be removed with spectral edit, would love to see how you would do a video on spectral edit

      Interesting. I don't see why not, if you wanted a particularly smooooooth bass, although I find compression and EQ is usually enough. I should try that on my channel. I have many spectral plugins... 😅
