I'm absolutely obsessed with this!!! I think they found a great balance of doing something cute and quirky with the chorus and then being badass with the rapping parts and dance break. The song is full of energy and is a ton of fun! Sua continues to wreck me, she's so cool and gorgeous! I also love Tsuki once again getting a solo dance part, she's so talented and it makes me happy they showcase her in that way. As for the album, not to overhype it, but it's easily my AOTY so far! It just fits my taste perfectly! I cant wait for you album reaction later on.

Yes this is exactly what I thought! I feel this song is more definitely palatable than RINGXRING (even though at the moment I prefer RXR more as a song). The MV really knocks it out the park (both STAYC and Billlie have released awesome MVs this week)
After a few listens I realized that the energy Billlie bring to their title tracks is on a similar wavelength to the weirder side of Red Velvet: "Zimzalabim", "Ice Cream Cake", etc. It can be a fine line to walk, and if there's a miss it hurts, but so far Billlie have NAILED it. I am now completely invested.

11:34 Totally get what you're saying about Sheon, I think I'm actually glad that Snowy Night came before this, rather than this being their first release after RING X RING, because even though in Snowy Night it did immediately feel like she belonged, it feels like that even more so now? I'm not sure whether I'm explaining this well, but it's like there's not even the _option_ anymore of thinking of her as the new kid, because of that sort of "buffer" of Snowy Night.
But maybe I'm talking out of my neck because the way she slays in this song would have solidified her regardless. Although maybe Snowy Night also helped build up her own confidence for this comeback?
Anyway I'm so glad she's here, I love her. I didn't even know of her before she joined Billlie and she's already one of my biases.
Ring X Ring was PHENOMENAL, the production is insane and they were so brave going that way even though they’re not from one of the major companies (big 3) (ik technically Mystic is still under SM but not many ppl remember/know this)
I LOVEE RxR to bits, when I heard it for the first time I’m sold by it already. it is the reason why I dedicate myself to follow this group, although I’ve had my eyes on them before predebut since I know Sua already, but I can say I am loving the group as a whole. for me, this song is too “generic” for their standard, I was hoping for more experimental sound like RxR. sure I like this but it can never surpass RxR in terms of many aspect, and yeah you’re right maybe because they want to catch the general public first since they’re still a nugu group in SK hence this song is not on par with RxR
I also love RxR more but this song is literally RANDOMLY cool and suites the mv so much

This was the final push I needed to fully commit to Billlie. I love everything about it. And every concern I had with RxR (musically and MV wise) is now perfect :)
I get some Stranger Things vibes. Not story-wise but it has the same mixture of being quirky, creepy, dark, funny and nostalgic at the same time. Would love a lore deep dive.

oh in the credits it says one of the choreographers for this was Lia Kim, who does a lot of amazing stuff with voguing! Seriously though Billlie kiiiiilled it with this, I love that the concept is both unabashedly cute and poppy as well as legit terrifying
The B in Billlie stands for Bangers! They literally popped out of the gate with a discography and performing talent of an experienced group. It blows my mind. I literally only discovered this group when you released your predebut reactions, and they are already in my top 3 favorite kpop groups of all time.
I...think I might have to stan...and it's been awhile since I've felt like that about a gg.

There so much to say and process, but your point about the styling is spot on. I think it's one of the best stylings for a gg release in awhile in that it really pops and takes some risks, but is also coherent and looks great on them.

Although RxR has a more complex structure and it's hard for people to understand it even from the tenth listen, which makes a lot more sense, so I advise you to listen to it while reading the lyrics, I PROMISE it will someday make sense for those who have not yet understood ;) (RxR is legendary, emotional journey, an actual art of friendship and no one will convince me otherwise)
What about this comeback, this song has a much better mix which makes it much more enjoyable to listen to, it catches your attention, really great MV for the song (i don't trust this bunny), choreography is WOW, basically a great song 10/10
and all the bass(?) from the intro of the song reminds me of Yeppi Yeppi(?) by aespa!!!

13:25 You know what Kaia, when I first listened to the prechorus buildup snippet (from a music show preview), it remind me of Icona Pop - I Love It. And I watched it again today after few years.... And the MV is basically set in a vogue bar.
Seems like either the producer or the choreographer take inspiration from the bar scene too, for the choreo.

i like the chorus, but i kind of wanted just a little bit more from it. i'm not sure what, maybe even just Haram harmonizing with Suhyeon or they could have teased the "ra dada dum" outro by adding some of that instrumental to the chorus.
Haram got most of the vocal lines in Ring x Ring and Snowy Night, so this song Suhyeon got her turn since they are both main vocals. But i missed Haram's deep rich voice in this song, you only really get to hear her in the bridge. I think some lower harmonies would have been cool.

This was a really good comeback. Ring x Ring didn't really gel for me but this slaps.
I feel like everyone who liked RxR won't like Gingamingayo as much, and everyone who DIDN'T liked RxR will like Gingamingayo better 😂 I'm in the former group, ngl, but this song still SLAYS! Billie hasn't really disappointed me thus far!
