indeed it tends to draw maximum current from the capacitor. and it will not damage it. but the best way is to discharge the capacitor using any load to prevent sparking

Wow! You just brought my OTR troubleshooting to the next level. I'm gonna make this tool asap. Currently after voltage testing the primary terminals at transformer all my other tests in the hv circuit are done using ohms. Problem with ohms tests is, if it tests bad component is bad, but if ohms tests good it can still be bad. Doing this hv testing I can now be 100% correct on the defective part. Thank you so much sir, I'm subscribed
Good day Mr. May I ask you something a little outside of the HV Capasitor in this uour video. I have Sharp Micowave that using HV Dioda, part number is HVR-1X 4 which connected from 1pin of the HV capasitor to the chasis. This dioda was defected/shorted affected the main fuse was always blown off. I’m encountering difficulties to find that dioda. My question is, Can I replace the above part number HV dioda with the part number is HVR-1X 3. Your suggestion is much apprexiated🤝
Hi, great vid, im confused how just a diode and capacitor is acting as voltage doubler, isnt it just acting as your typical half wave rectifier circuit to supply pulsating DC to magnetron? also does the HV from capacitor go through the magnetron and towards the ground on the other side of magnetron or does it go through the other winding that is going to magnetron? Its very confusing to me in the wiring diagram, it looks like the magnetron is connected to the - side of the capacitor and therefore no voltage is getting to magnetron..... thanks
welcome dear yes. oscilloscope is very important tool in modern electronics circuits. using oscilloscope we can see the signal shape and behavior, specially in microprocessor based signals
@@lelmus3277 No, the probes for the tool attached to the HV test points. It seems he used normal multimeter probes , that are usually rated for 1000V. That could be dangerous if the HV is much higher.
7:10 Are the Cap Discharging line of resistor (20k Ohm) and the Cap Measuring line of resistors(2M Ohm +2k Ohm) joins at Common? As you moved too fast I could not see them clearly.
20 K resistance one end for discharging point for capacitor 2nd end is connected to common terminal and 2 K resistance 2K resistance 2nd end is connected to voltage measurement terminal and 2M ohms resistance 2M ohms resistance is connected to high voltage test point
@@HaseebElectronics Thank you for the clear instructions on the Cap Discharging cum Measuring Tool! About 5 weeks ago, I managed to repair my Sharp MW oven replacing the HV Cap and the oven was able to function for the next 2 weeks before it wreaked havoc again. This time round, the turntable, fan and light were on whenever the door is opened though the "Start" button is not pressed. Later, I found out that the Primary Door Switch button is stuck and with the replacement of the micro switch it was able to function normally. Because whenever I discharged the HV Cap, I just short it with 2 screw drivers then a plier which I don't really like to do so. Finally, I found your great informative channel with so many interesting contents. If I am not mistaken, you must have gotten this electronics skills through college education, which I feel safe and comfortable unlike other channels that do not follow the proper way of doing things correctly! Thanks for all your uploads that I may find some useful. Thank you!
best regards. you are right the multimeter probes fall in safety class in 1000 volt. we can select high voltage probe or we can add some extra layer of insulation.
hello sir, i have made this tool ,i used 2.2k resistor and 2.2mega ohm insted of 2 because of non availability at shop.i used 220v,but the multimeter is showing nothing, why?
And do not break the ceramic parts of the magnetron, especially the pink part, it is made of Beryllium ceramic. Inhalation of microdoses of Beryllium causes fatal beryllium cancer in the lungs.
When you bridge the capacitor with insulated pliers (and not a resistor), does that not damage the capacitor? Any damage 'in circuit'? Thank you!
indeed it tends to draw maximum current from the capacitor. and it will not damage it.
but the best way is to discharge the capacitor using any load to prevent sparking
@@HaseebElectronics Thank you! Sparking scares me ;) I will build the device you're using!
It doesn't electrically hurt the cap, but the sparks might probably start "welding" off metal from the leads.

very nice explanation.
So you have made a shunt to make voltage Safe for meter 😊 very nice 👍
indeed it is voltage divider circuit. same as it is used in high voltage probes

Most test leads of Multimeters rated 1000v if it is good brand, precautions must be taken when using cheap Multimeters.
yes you are exactly right

Do you need an oscilloscope to repair the inverter board of all types of air conditioners
welcome dear
yes. oscilloscope is very important tool in modern electronics circuits. using oscilloscope we can see the signal shape and behavior, specially in microprocessor based signals
sir..if we provide 220v in HV coil..so we get low voltage in 220v side

is ka koi equitant mel sakta h ? or es ki datasheet bhi bta dain shukriaya
vf26 h ya ve26

useful information, but how to calculate the resistor value for this high voltage testing. according ohms law or any other else

This is resistor or high voltage diode
it is high volatge diode
