Have had two huskies. They are definitely dramatic. Additionally, they are escape artists. And their breeding never leaves them, they love to pull, especially a sled. You can literally see a big smile on their face when they do!!
Huskies are not for the faint of heart. They absolutely must have something to do or they can be destructive, trying to find an outlet for their energy and intelligence. My old neighbors used to have two of them and had to be fairly firm with them. I often would go borrow a "cup of dog" from them and go on hikes. I finally wore the male husky out on a hike and ended up carrying him back to the car but the female was pretty tough. They were fun in the winters, too. My neighbor would harness up the female and put on her skis then they'd go down the road, Tasha pulling as hard as she could, Niko (the male) lolloping at her side. They'd switch places on the way back to the house so that each dog got a good run in the snow in harness. The dogs absolutely LOVED doing this, too. I think they were happiest in the winter because they got to be snow dogs again. The funniest part about those two dogs was the evening howl session. When my neighbors would get home, the huskies would howl, the neighbors would howl, and we would howl through the shared wall (townhouse community) along with them. I loved those dogs. Loved those neighbors, too. Good times!
Yeah, my neighbors have huskies and they love the snow, the snow in our yard melts slower than theirs (wind piles a _lot_ of it and shade keeps it cool) and they love to come over for the sole purpose of napping in the snow lol.
It will be a Husky who is the first dog breed to actually talk human words. I've absolutely no doubt as I've had the privilege of three huskies in my life, amazing dogs.

All dogs are unique and loving but huskies and malamutes are just my favourites their loving ADHD overload intelligent and comedians of the canine world ❤
Huskies and Malamutes are cold weather dogs, they Love it and Love working for their owner in harsh cold. I have see numerous owners walking these breeds in hot weather. I feel so bad for the dog. I have seen these breeds tide to a chain .they have access to their doggy home but I'm sure they would much rather be inside with family
Well if you actually knew anything about huskies you would know that they have no issues in hot weather. They adapt just fine. Just like their winter coats protect them from the cold, their summer coats keep them cool from the summer heat. Malamutes are a little different. They do struggle in heat. But huskies don’t at all. This is just a cold fact.
I have a husky she is about 4 months old now. She never howls not once. She likes to talk back when we play and she likes to run around when I’m up but if I’m chilling she’s chilling. I think I was blessed haha
mine didn't start howling until a year or so after that she'd sing about anything she'd bark as a tiny puppy, but once she started howling she never barked again ever (only exception is if her tail got squashed by something)
True, my new neighbour brought home a Husky, since we're living in tropical country, I'm curious if it could actually enjoy our warmth climate, but as time goes by the dogs looks just fine and I love to hear and see it's behaviour, it's mostly howling instead of barking which is a huge plus 😂.
I was privileged to be part of her pack. We let her free and many neighbors b become her pack 😆 she would visit them daily for treats and loving. So blessed
Oy…Huskies are so high maintenance…Ours threw fits, was the best escape artist, could jump at least 5-6 ft high from a stand still, rolled in the mud,dug huge holes you wouldn’t know were there till you fell in them, wouldn’t come in when it was raining or snowing, she would lay sprawled out on her frozen pool..she would argue with you,sit in the woods as you called her, probably smirking, escape from a double clipped tie out..very smart and stubborn..if she didn’t want to do it,she wouldn’t..She basically could be a real pain and a$$hat..😂😂😂 she wasn’t a wooer either, she loved to bark.. but I sure did love her and I do miss her…😢RIH my silver, black and white, almost white eyed, white lashed baby girl…sweet Mylyka-aka Malo..till we meet again…I miss you😢🥺🌈
This is what scare me when the time finally come to my Husky, my boy is well behave, never want to escape even with the doors are opened, he's 7 years old now, still no sign of age yet, the vet guessed him about 3, some guess at next door coffee shop thought him was 2, he used to love to roll around in a puddle of water until he made the connection that if he get dirty, that's mean imma bring him to the spa to get him a bath, after that bath come the drying part which he hate, so he stopped getting himself in the rain, or roll around in mud or water. Taught himself how to knock my door to let him in the room. Love that goof so much
My daughters husky somehow unhooks her cable leaves it laying in the yard and chases the chickens all day 😂 I don't trust her not to be tide up outside but I'll never forgive her mom for getting another husky this is my 3rd it doesn't get easier but we love our dumb dumb(her real name is hera)
😂 Sorry, but NO. They’re indeed stubborn. Mine just went on a hunger strike, because I told him, he had enough treats. Out of spite he hasn’t eaten for 2 days. Every time I tell him to eat his food, he goes to his treat drawer and demands his treats and if he doesn’t get his treat, he will ignore you for an hour and then proceed to sneak out to his ‘hidden’ stash to eat. And no it’s not because he doesn’t like his food, it’s because he was told NO. He isn’t even food motivated 😂 Huskies can be stubborn and manipulative little sh*ts. It’s just that they are very cute while being so 😂😂😂
@adrasthea17 the word no is a major trigger for the husky. Mine hates the word no. She use to do stuff out of spite when i would say no. So now it's the word stop with my hand stuck out. That really seems to help
Huskies ARE amazing, just amazing... but the downside is their hair sheds and is so light for good insulation sake in extreme cold weather it gets EVERYWHERE. And I mean everywhere, like on your plates and in your food. The so-light hair FLOATS almost like it defies gravity, and because of this it WILL get throughout your home.
I loved my huskies, ik mis my huskies. After grooming them i saved the fur for de birds to make their nests. Also iv’e learned to spot something like birds, mice or whatever they spotted, before they did so i could brace myself, to keep them from dragging me across the streets as if I were a sled. They did once, and my my doctor almost cried with laughter when I told him why my arms and chin were so chafed.
Last time I brushed out my husky Dasha when she was blowing her coat, I had a pile of hair as big as her. So I decided to mess with Dasha and shaped it into a dog shape and got a treat and pretended to teach the pile of hair tricks for the treat. Dasha got jealous started barking at the hair and then destroyed it. 😂@@sammie20
We bought a sled with wheels! Best thing ever for a husky since we live in Atlanta and don’t get snow. She gets so excited when we hook her up she shivers!
I never underestimate my husky intelligence. I always have to outwit her. They definitely fun, but... They are a lot of work. I have to constantly be two steps ahead of her.

The problem with smart dogs is that they only think about what amuses them. Eating your couch or escaping to explore are often entertaining.
