I replaced about everything just about 2 times. Only to have it stolen. And Im a 63 yr old man, but I don't drive . Thank God I live in a bike friendly small college town. Yes, I think you should make this available Citizen. I don't personally need one, but it seems like a good niche of the market to fill since you have already researched the component sourcing and wiring harness. Plenty of Kepler riders would probably like this kit also. But I wouldn't do it without first checking with a lawyer and creating a sales agreement that protects you from liability and especially emphasizes that the kit may only be used with an RST Guide fork.
I believe the wired rear motor is 1500w...so it would probably be a difficult endeavor connecting the front 750w and rear 1500w motors to a single throttle. They need different signals to balance out the power. I have an AWD Grizzly.... But the motors are the same power so you can just combine the throttle signals from the controllers to one throttle. But having an AWD bike is definitely good for alot of situations.. and its probably saved my but from wiping out several times. Especially on turns when the rear tire wants to kick out but the front pulls it out of it. I just ordered the new Lyric Graffiti X but im definitely gonna keep my Grizzly for poor weather. Snow and wet roads are much better suited to an AWD bike.
I will buy your kit. As is. But I would also pay more for higher voltage controller and battery. Smooth quiet street tire mounted on the front wheel would be a bonus that I would be glad to pay for (including more $ for the best puncture protection). Forks are expensive, but a good twenty millimeter through axle strong front fork would be great. Steering damper? I will buy as-is, but I would also purchase your higher end kit.
Go for it!!! I’m not a prospect but lots of hunters are using two wheel drive bikes. What you might consider is selling modified bikes. Look at some of the hunting bikes, they are pricey. That might be a good market segment to cater yourself to. Work a tiered quantity deal with Wired for their green bike, do some camo mods, drive mods and go for it!
Wow! Nice job; very interesting. I am going to order my Wired soon. A motor up front would only add to the fun. I can see purchasing your kit to add more power for pulling a camping trailer. That would be awesome. I would definitely consider purchasing one of your kits.
You got the manufacturer to work with you on this? Wired might even end up buying the same parts and selling Dual Motor Wired Freedoms or Kits to convert them, too, that would be cool. There's certainly room for them to make a more expensive bike and still be within reasonable price. I've thought about what I'd want in a Dual Motor setup already, and what you did is definitely in that direction. Your rear motor has double the rated continuous power of your front, but they peak at around the same, which is ideal because you're going to be using the rear motor constantly and the front motor for periods of time but it gets breaks to cool down, so a lighter 750W motor makes sense there, but it still needs to be able to contribute enough power to match the other motor to feel useful, and it also gives you that redundancy, which is great, if anything stops working, you had two of those anyway, so you're good, just fix it before something else breaks. No worrying about getting stuck in traffic with a bike that won't go and is difficult to pedal.
Definitely a cost saver kit. It’s a pain in the butt going the other way. I bought the Bolton Bikes (Area 13) kit and that saved bucks putting it in my Rad Mini 2018. May add to that with this but putting bucks into a new fork for my Hyper Scorpion.
I was going to buy another battery anyway. I'm planning on riding the RAGBRAI, bicycle ride Across Iowa this summer and one of the days is 80 miles. So, I know I can easily do that with 2 Freedom batteries. With your KIT, I think I can get the range I want, plus all the other benefits the kit delivers... for the same price as a second Wired battery. No brainer, I'm SOLD! I'll need the kit no later than the beginning of July.
@@CitizenCycle925 thank you! I will definitely do the upgrade for the front motor then. Keep us posted. Great job on everything you do. Much appreciated!!
@CitizenCycle925 Yes, nice upgrade. The only option I would suggest is for a regenerative braking option. It would be a requirement for me as the primary reasoning for my new bike's custom build was for regenerative braking on the front hub's motor to reduce brake pad wear by 95-99%. AWD, quicker acceleration, + the ability to drive the bike home if my mid-drive motor goes out or I break a belt are all additional benefits of the front hub on my mid-drive with IGH build. I especially like how you've kept the 2nd system throttle only. Very nice system as you've designed it, but the regenerative braking option might be of interest to those who ride in alot of hilly areas or for those looking to greatly reduce brake pad wear.
My goal was to deliver the torque power of a geared hub motor to the front wheel, i dont know of any geared hubs that have a regen feature to them... I think if regen is a main concern then the direct drive motors are probably more appropriate. Thanks for the feedback! what bike did you modify?
@CitizenCycle925 I actually don't have the bike yet and must first sell my current bike then start the bike build. If your main goal was torque you definitely would succeed with a geared hub with your project. My project revolves around a mid-drive bike whose 2nd front hub motors primary reasoning was to nearly eliminate brake pad replacements while providing the additional benefits I listed above. You can do regenerative braking with geared or direct drive. If using direct drive, the freewheel must be locked or completely eliminated and there are videos on TH-cam from a company that's done alot on regenerative braking motors. I was planning on running a geared front hub but have since decided to use a direct drive hub as I'm already going to have the torque multiplication from my bikes gearing to help assist the mid-drive motor. I stayed away from saying the company's name that is very well versed in regenerative braking but if you want me to share the name I will.
fantastic video and job. i think you are underselling your price , which iam sure people will appreciate it, but you need to add in your knowledge and time spent developing this. right before you said the price i was thinking around 1500 to 1800 for the kit, when you said 800 i almost spit out my drink, my wife in the other room ask me if i was okay, lol. i would be ordering this kit the second you put it on the market, only thing i could think of , and iam sure you already planned on doing, is a video of the installation step by step, to make it easier on the installer, aka ( me ) . thank you for your videos and time spent on developing this amazing addition to the wired freedom. be safe and take care. much respect to you.
Thank you for the input!! you make some great points but i also want the price to make it very attainable for folks. And yes of course I would do a step by step install video on various bikes. :)
Great job on putting this together, just got a 2024 wire freedom, definitely would like to have the kit, please let me know when available , Definitely ready, thanks for all you do, learned a lot from your videos, keep up the good work
I appreciate all the videos, bike tests and most of all the modifications! I have an Ariel Rider Kepler and would love one of your kits. Let your Citizens know the details on the pricing and timing of availability. I want one
You should keep 60 v batteries for both motors. Pain packing 2 different chargers. Of course higher voltage higher speed so your bike will go a little bit faster than what you just did. Always good to have that extra battery in case something goes wrong.
Hopefully with the additional range of a 780watt hour battery you wouldn't need to carry the chargers.... :) also the 60v costs more and i didnt want to overvolt my 52v motor..
When you said it needs a certain type of fork in order for it to work properly... don't know if my fork could handle the torque. Have to research on that but lets say I'm still semi-interested.
Resellable AWD Kit, sure...great job. You can't stop now. It's only 85% complete. It's not done till you merge the displays and front/rear selector switch like the Grizzly. One more month, then Celebrate‼️ Next project dual 45A controllers on your Grizzly ‼️ 🤜🤯🤛
This is super awesome! I’m Actually right now debating on buying a wired or another ebike which has dual motors in it. I’m on the fence bc I’m on the shorter side like your wife. Not sure I’d be able to comfortably ride it. If I do buy it, Id definitely be interested in a kit. I’d like to have a 20 ah battery for it though.
E-Cell at 146nm is the same bike as the wired Freedom at 138nm but much cheaper! Controller KT 60v 40A 146nm controller. Delivers 2400 watts of power while the wired Freedom motor is 2200w peak! Or buy the dual motor monarch!
I’ve seen the reviews for the ecell five star. A lot of similarities but it’s not supposed to come out until late spring early summer. No one has even test rode it yet. I actually can pick up the wired freedom and don’t have to ship it, So no shipping costs for me 🎉. Just got to pay Uncle Sam 💰. Wish I were taller 😂
i'm ordering a (green) Freedom tomorrow (~2 month backlog?) This is a perfect solution, count me in, as that'd make it the most badass bike in my KS time zone.

Hail Citizen! Love what you have done. unbelievable! My only question is, would I be able to adapt this kit to my Electric xp2 step thru?? Tc from Nevada
@@CitizenCycle925 Thanks for your response. Do appreciate your attention. My bike totally needs another battery, not getting a lot of distance out of the factory battery. The thought of another motor would be nice!!
How about a 60v 60v setup with the front motor just being over volted. If there is too much wheel spin just neuter it in the settings. Then fit a 15/20ah battery to the back. Then you could have beast mode and swap wheels to stocker for long range mode with a combiner🍻 using a blender with the 52v would be less desirable.
I have the 2023 Eahora Juliet 20-inch eBike. It is a little underpowered for my taste with a top speed of 28 mph. It has a 48-volt 1000-watt geared motor with a 60 AH battery. I have been looking into doing exactly what you have done with the Wired so I can raise that top end to at least 35 mph when I need to. I live right off of US Hwy 321 and have to travel it for at least 2 miles before I can get on a secondary road with much less traffic. Today, a large diesel truck pulling a very heavy trailer with a large machine on it moved to the center of the road to avoid me and ran an oncoming vehicle onto the shoulder of the road to avoid a head on collision. The speed limit is 55 and he was probably doing over 60. Everybody is in a hurry. I know the Wired can reach 35 with just the rear motor, so I was wondering what I would need on the front to be able to reach that speed without help from limited rear motor. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I would be glad to purchase an appropriate kit from you. The extra battery would not be a problem and would be seldom used for my purpose as I'm not in as big a hurry as the driver of that truck. Thanks, Jim
Grin tech has a spokes calculator on their website. You can lace any motor yourself, it's not that complicated. Also, 52v is a bit weak, a 60v @ 35A would have been more fun

Outstanding build...outstanding video!!
thank you!
@CitizenCycle925
Yes, nice upgrade.
@CitizenCycle925
I actually don't have the bike yet and must first sell my current bike then start the bike build.
Do it. Some peeps will buy just for the extra range 👍.
Yeah would love this with 1000amp battery
Great job on putting this together, just got a 2024 wire freedom, definitely would like to have the kit, please let me know when available , Definitely ready, thanks for all you do, learned a lot from your videos, keep up the good work
excellent! hopefully taking orders soon!

I appreciate all the videos, bike tests and most of all the modifications! I have an Ariel Rider Kepler and would love one of your kits. Let your Citizens know the details on the pricing and timing of availability. I want one
Okay, will keep you posted!

Yes!
thank you for your input!
I would love to do this on my Juiced Ripcurrent S. Guess I had better start looking at getting new forks.
thank you for the comment! :)
I would LOVE a Smaller Wired freedom! Kudos for the over the top mod, but I just want the bike to feel more comfortable. - (6'1" Wired Freedom owner)
yes, it is certainly a large bike, hard to tell until you see it in person.
When you said it needs a certain type of fork in order for it to work properly... don't know if my fork could handle the torque. Have to research on that but lets say I'm still semi-interested.
okay, thanks for the note!!
Definitely interested!
awesome! thanks for letting me know, seems to be some good interest in this kit!
If this fits last years model then I would be interested
Last year’s model does not have FST fork
the 2023 model Wired has Mozo Forks so you would have to switch them out.
Hell yeah I’m interested
Pre sale now at citizenperformance.com 😁
I wish I were young again! Great job, Citizen! I’m really impressed!
Thank you!
Yes, yes, yes! My Radrover is in need of all wheel drive....
okay awesome, thank you for commenting!

I would interested. It would be a few months out before I would be able to purchase it though. I like my bike a lot. AWD would make it awesome.
alrighty thanks for responding :)
What about with a juiced hyperscrambler 2 if I change out forks? Man im getting EXCITED!!! 3 BATTERY'S!!!!!!!!!
only making 26in kits at the moment
@CitizenCycle925 thanks!! I ordered E cells 5 star, That should work right? I think it comes with the right forks.
@@lecroixband yes!
Built it we will buy it👍🏻
great, thanks for commenting!
Hey Keith, they are available for pre-order now at Citizenperformance.com
I would definitely be interested
okay thank you for your interest :)
@@CitizenCycle925 if and when you do offer a kit …can you have options of 750w or 1000w motors instead of just one option
Resellable AWD Kit, sure...great job.
You can't stop now.
It's only 85% complete.
It's not done till you merge the displays and front/rear selector switch like the Grizzly.
One more month, then Celebrate‼️
Next project dual 45A controllers on your Grizzly ‼️ 🤜🤯🤛
My X is better two separate systems are better in case one go down you still have a motor to help you move the bike
Pretty cool dude. I like it.
I Would Be Interested In Buying Your Bike Kit! Thanks! I Really Enjoy Your Videos.

This is super awesome! I’m Actually right now debating on buying a wired or another ebike which has dual motors in it. I’m on the fence bc I’m on the shorter side like your wife. Not sure I’d be able to comfortably ride it. If I do buy it, Id definitely be interested in a kit. I’d like to have a 20 ah battery for it though.
as long as you put RST Guide forks on whatever bike you have, you would be able to use this kit.
Wish I were taller 😂
i'm ordering a (green) Freedom tomorrow (~2 month backlog?)
This is a perfect solution, count me in, as that'd make it the most badass bike in my KS time zone.
okay thank you for the response!

I think it would be great if you added a taillight with directional signals for extra cost
hmm. adding light turn signals is a thought... thanks
@CitizenCycle925 thank you for the consideration. If anyone can do it you can. Plus your wiring already has the potential
Hail Citizen! Love what you have done. unbelievable! My only question is, would I be able to adapt this kit to my Electric xp2 step thru?? Tc from Nevada
if enough folks want a 20x4 version i could potentially build that too. you would also need to switch out your forks to RST guide forks.
Then you could have beast mode and swap wheels to stocker for long range mode with a combiner🍻 using a blender with the 52v would be less desirable.
if motor is overvolted the manufacturer wont warranty
I stay in Haw River North Carolina Is There A Way I Can Get A Kit And Have You Do It Exactly Like This… This Is So Smart
I'd definitely buy a kit

How about a direct drive front end so you can have a 3k front drive to pick up after the rear motor maxes out and would have regen on the front end...
there are lots of direct drive motors on the market, i wanted to supply geared hubs which are very hard to find.
Hope you do make them for sale. enjoyed your show.
yes, i am moving things forward, will be taking orders soon!
