Dearest Mumbie….am so glad we stumbled upon your channel!!! So much so, that we immediately made a curry, (using beef, as we had no lamb in fridge). With all the excitement we added the beef to the yoghurt while preparing spices and onions. And then added the meat. Nevertheless, it was a delicious success! Tonight… we busy following the recipe step by step…awaiting another glorious outcome. Thank you for sharing what you do. (And yes, definitely with potatoes!)
@khadmabrouk2803 Each and every household has their own unique recipe. There is nothing correct or incorrect in that. This is my way how I cook. Probably you cook in your own way but that doesn’t mean that your way is correct and depict other methods to be incorrect. That’s a wrong way to showcase cooking.
@@CurriesWithBumbi I so totally agree...I hate to see people comment on other people dishes saying oh this is not the right way to do this or that every household cooks their food differently if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. It looks good to me and I will be making this recipe
For a good outcome of meat marination is a very crucial step which I don't c here. Once the meat meat leaves out its juices what taste do u expect. The gravy will hv a good taste but not the meat.
There must be a ton of Indian recipes, by different people on the internet, but nobody explains what they are doing, and why they are doing it, as you do. This is why, I keep coming back to your channel, time and again. Thank you. 👍🇦🇺
That's so true . There's Punjabi style, there's Rajasthani style, there's Bihari style etc. Potatoes in goat curry is typically only used in Bengali style, Rajasthani style goes heavy on red chillies, Biharis put whole garlics in their curry.
Dear Mumbi what a wonderful step by step clear and precise demonstration of how to make an authentic curry. It looked absolutely delicious, and i can,t wait to try it. Thank you so much.
This recipe is my idea of the perfect curry and I agree one hundred percent with your husband. I ALWAYS include potatoes in my curries. They are absolutely delicious. Many thanks for sharing this amazing recipe!

Just up my street. Lamb and potatoes! Yummy! On my to-do list. Thank you very much Bumbi. And great tip about preventing the yoghurt splitting, I use it all the time now. Makes my arm ache somewhat but I switch hands.
I adore Potatoes in curry! I really enjoy these recipes that use a less common ingredient like goat. I wish it was more commonly used around here as the flavor is wonderful! Thank you and have a great weekend 💕💕
Asda might sell goat in their fresh meat department, they sell mutton pieces on the bone in my local Asda and other big packs of Indian style meat for curries. Good luck

I like potatoes in a curry. I have been known, on a regular basis, to have just homemade Bombay Aloo as a main meal. Mutton is hard to find in the UK these days. Used to be common around 50 yrs ago, everything is lamb now. My Grandma used to make a gorgeous mutton stew. Love the way you say "Potatoes" I am mainly a meat eater, but since finding your channel, I find I'm eating a lot more veggy meals... many thanks.
Thank you so much for showing us these recipes Aunty Bumbi. My husband and I, in Canada, have switched all of our spices to good quality whole spices because of you. We've enjoyed so many of your recipes over the past year. Every one of them turned out amazing. Thank you!
I really like how you teach the individual idiosyncrasies of different types of curry. Curry is kind of like the word chilly here in the United States. There's lots and lots of ways to do it but some basic rules. Your videos are informative and concise and that is rare to find on TH-cam that's why I have subscribed and really enjoy your Channel
Yes l trust what you said!. Amazingly a good technical cook you're. Never came across a cooking vd with such knowledge, believe me you'll gain more thru this generous sharing. Surely will try this recipe with great smile. Thanks mam.
Mutton curry without potatoes is having a chocolate cake without another layer of creamy chocolatey icing! I know it's a silly comparison but that's what occurred to me 😀 That's a delicious mutton curry, Bumbi!! Worth mastering it - and it becomes a celebration staple.
Bumbi, I love recipe books, I have loads of them. I found some Mutton in the freezer and then found your recipe. love it! now hooked on curries with Bumbi, every step looked as yours, 20 minutes in the pressure cooker and cannot wait. thank you

Oh my goodness!!! This was a great recipe and my first time making it! Thank you. My yogurt is very thick so I used warm water to dilute and bring the yogurt to a higher temperature before adding to the mutton and it worked beautifully and did not curdle.
I wonder how many of the anti-potato brigade have ever travelled around the Indian sub-continent? Probably none. Potatoes are ubiquitous and absolutely acceptable.
