Is Spotify playlist promotion a scam?
The answer probably isn't as black and white as you'd like it to be.
Sure, there are some promo companies out there that will take your money and run - and worse, there are some that rely on bot streams (and sink your chances with Spotify's algorithm in the process).
But if you work with a good company, you really can drive tens of thousands (and sometimes more) streams. It happens pretty regularly.
There are definitely cons to using these services (not the least of which is that playlist streams tend to be less engaged). But there are also plenty of campaigns that drive real, long-term engagement.
