This is my favorite switch game. I've always loved Fire Emblem games but this one completely blew me away. I'm currently on my second playthrough and have over 100 hours into the game overall. This is a must buy if you own a switch.
I want to get this but I've never liked the other fire emblem game, i like rpg games where you can explore and visit different cities and villages and not just take me from 1 battle to the next like a lot of strategic rpg games, is this game different from the rest?

As a long time Fire Emblem fan, this is one of the best imo.

No. Each Fire Emblem game has it's own unique story.

I’ve been waiting for this one! I loved this entry in the series sooo much! The characters are amazing, especially people like Sylvain and Hilda who have so much depth to them. What a great game!

A Target in my area had a collectors edition of the game just sitting in their stockroom. Picked it up after so much hype I’ve been hearing. Definitely can’t wait to play this game! Just gotta make the time for it that it deserves!

I have spent with this more than 210+ hours... and I have reached 3 from 4 different end, yet. And I want the last one also. When I ended a storyline I felt a little amount of sorrow, because I didn't want to end this experience. This is a very good game.

To answer your question.... Buy!!! This one is really good plus the characters many of them you will fall in love with Claude is my favorite character so far. Also my recommendations if you want to recruit people to your class (depending on which class you pick to teach), I highly recommend recruiting Felix, Dorothea, Lytseria, Marianne, Petra, and Bernadetta they are very good on the battlefield especially Felix he's your best swordsman and Lytseria is a damn good mage.

I bought it from a sale and just barely started before it ended up in my backlog. I can't even remember which house I chose, lol. I'm not really into strategic combat but the simulation part reminds me a little of mana khemia.

Late to the party but just picked this up after watching this review. Probably my favorite game I’ve played on the switch, if not period.
lol i actually still have copys of fire emblum for game cube and wii .... 2 games i couldnt let go when I got rid of my older games.that and a hand full of rpgs for ps2 .... so kinda excited about plyaing this game eventually.

Ive played all of the fire emblem games,,, this is the best hands down. The replay ability is amazing

I got this game when the Switch lite came out and I am about 80 hours into it. I beat the Black Eagles route (one of them, since there are two in that house once you get to chapter 12) and I am on chapter 8 of the Blue Lion route. I love the story and characters. The main battles and Paralogues are great. I just think that some parts of the game get very tedious and boring, like regular battles (for grinding) and returning lost items. Some of it you don't have to do, but some is needed. I wish that there were more maps for the regular battles that aren't part of the story or Paralogues. I also wish there were more classes. For instance there isn't a flying class with a Lance for the advanced tier. So, if your character is a flying Lance user, you have to switch to axe in the advanced rank or skip it until master tier. There are more examples, but I don't need to go on. This game is great, but some of it is just grinding and I really dislike grinding.
Ah, I’m wondering if you have ever played the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance games? I think you would enjoy them, as we have similar taste in games and those are two of my favorite games of all time.

I’m watching a bunch of reviews to see if I should get this. Currently playing through Shadows of Valentia and I’m shocked that 3 houses doesn’t keep the zoom moments in battles where the camera swoops in on the action in battles. The music and animation are top tier in those moments and I’m really disappointed. It’s certainly not a deal breaker but still!

I wanted to hear again why you liked that over Hyrule warriors. Last night I spent almost an hour debating over which musou game I should buy, and I needed your opinion to sway me on fire emblem warriors. There were two videos I saw that said Hyrule had more content and every character played differently unlike FE warriors.
I caved in and bought Hyrule and noticed some of your criticism might’ve been right about how fluid the fighting could’ve been if I got FE Warriors, because the combos stop / feel kind of stiff. And the negative they mentioned about Hyrule having too many commands at once on the screen is really annoying, so now I wish I could’ve tried FE warriors instead...long story short, I should’ve listened to Ircha 😩
Omg aww!! Yeah, I see what you mean... I really wanted to like Hyrule Warriors! It was a game I had been looking forward to for a long time, and unfortunately it disappointed me with the random things you had to do in the middle of missions, that disturbed the "flow" of the game. FE Warriors is just the BEST. 👍
Haha definitely, the only thing Hyrule Warriors has going for it is the playstyle of each character, and even after putting in 5 hours so far in FE warriors, it doesn’t matter when you can upgrade the combos 😆 thanks for the advice though, I won’t go against your opinion again!! Lol
Can I skip the battle and enjoy the life simulation stuff?
You can put battles to super easy and rush through them yes 👍

This game looks gorgeous I have been curious with this game and the 3 houses and school environment kinda makes me feels like Harry Potter vibe, but I’m worried I won’t like the battle system, I enjoy action RPGs or turn base RPGs but this one somehow more strategic than classic turn base so yeah perhaps if I choose the super easy I might be able to figure out and enjoy it, who knows if I end up liking the battle more than the simulation, thankyou so much for your review!! I've never played a Fire Emblem game before.
I've always loved Fire Emblem games, but I almost skipped this one because so many wonderful games came out this year, plus Fates got to be such a slog after playing Conquest. So glad I didn't skip this game.
Im not gonna hate on this game but all that life sim stuff was what I didnt like about this game, I got serious persona influence vibes from looking at the trailers and I love persona but I dont want it anywhere near my fire emblems. Unfortunately my fears came through, I tried skipping all the running around talking and activities but then you miss out on character development and bonuses in combat so there is a price to pay. I loved how path of radiance and radiant dawn did it. Awesome combat followed by levelling up and equipment choosing/shopping then click a name and watch the dialogue for whoever you were interested in and move to next battle. It was simpler and straight to the good stuff. No fluff. I do love how you can roam around in 3 houses though.
My personal favorite was Awakening on 3ds 🤗😁

Try a 2nd playthrough with Japanese voices, MUCH better. I'm on my current 3rd playthrough (BE 1st, BL 2nd, GD 3rd).
I don't know, I feel it's too Japanese for my taste. I don't like that celshaded art style. Character modeling is done by Koei Tecmo and it looks very cheap. Level design is some sort of hybrid of Attack of Titan and 13 kingdoms. From what we know, Intelligent Systems was only behind the creative vision and Koei Tecmo developed the game. I also heard it has a dating system implemented in the game, so it's overloaded with fanservice that modern Japanese games have nowadays. To me Persona can only get away with it because it feels more natural with the game's theme.
i still don't care about fire emblem.. but u shud check out code vein its outstanding
