Mike, the John Deere de-limber you mentioned is a public mod : John Deere 437D loader.
I fully agree tht the jd feller bunches is in my opinion the best option for strip cutting tracks of land and I can confidently say to ya brother tht the jd cutter your in can handle those trees 2 at a time after putting some time in it and yes your gunna tip tht turtle of a machine alot but once you Lear the (money tilt) I call it and you just go slow until you can see first hand how it handles you will master tht cutter fast and you will lay down a serious amout of timber just keep the thaught of having a good stump grinder near by bc your gunna want to take a break from piling up matchsticks and make sure you ground is cleared of stumps bc I thaught eh screw it il take care of them at the end but I quickly ran into a huge problem that was actually hindering me from making skididable piles or I had piles tht were aggravating to get out the woods bcs of the stumps

Glad you have kept up the series and liked that you added your region specific style of logging. Volvo trucks seems like a weight imbalance type issue, but hopefully gets fixed soon. Another great video 👍

5th wheel placement and stretch frame is putting all the weight on the drive tires.
Before I bought FS, I was big into SnowRunner, which got me hooked on logging videos, especially with Pacific trucks. Everything I saw was in the Pacific NW. I didn’t know logging was also big in the South. Makes sense, I guess, when you think about the “Georgia” part of Georgia-Pacific paper.
Yeah, log trucks running all the time on the roads around here. 3 or 4 pulp wood plants within 100 miles of me. The next roll of Charmin you appreciate might started down here 😀

I had the same problem with the Volvo Truck when trying to haul full trailers of Iron Ore from the mine. Can’t believe Giants didn’t test it before releasing it!

@@MightyMikeFarms as a Brit 🇬🇧 I think there is very much a lack of trucks we use here, so I was pleased to see another European truck in the game…..and then disappointed when it didn’t perform.

They let them hang off the end of the trailer around here. Just tie a 4" piece of red plastic to the longest log and "yep, that'll work."

The Volvo has the fifth wheel to far back and suspension is too stiff so it understeers badly, so me too with the long tandem working reasonably.

I have the same issues with the Volvo trucks. Only one was the VNX long with doubles in the back that has worked ok.

I had the same thing with the PE Volvos. Even when empty they were ordinary at best. Kenworths work well as does most others and I often use the East European "Next" versions. I often very much overload but the Volvos simply don't work. I thought they did at release though so not sure what is going on.

To much weight on the back of the truck. If you could move the weight closer. The game has some physics for driving. Also the TLX Phoenix Series has nice trucks.
I did try a different config on one of the trucks that went to a single rear axle setup and it worked out. I think you are right, the weight isn't getting to the front wheels.

ive no issue with the volvos at all. corrupted files somewhere? mods?
I suspect I may have had them overloaded
@@MightyMikeFarms nope i just overloaded the VNL from the expansion pack is it, and it steers fine. on braking wheels lock up and it slides for a while tho. then again, i did put a 300k lbs load on a small trailer so a lot of weight went on it. 3 axle version
@@MightyMikeFarms ok this bothered me a lot so i kept trying. was able to replicate your issue with a 70000L water trailer. it appears to be a forward traction force issue. if you slow down to a total crawl and dont apply power it will turn. any power or higher speed it will go straight. that was further confirmed by said volvo being able to pull stuff up a hill no other truck (mod or otherwise) could. it has too much traction.
it doesnt happen with all trailers. seems weight distribution triggers it. it was fine with a 200t load (should not have been).
so yes something funky is going on and its related to a trailer load combo. cant be bothered to find a pattern tho
