Some awful driving from some members of the public there, in a world of their own and unaware of their surroundings.

If that's what is sounds like in the car it must be piss weak outside the car.

I agree, my town has a fire officer car with exact same sirens and they're awful....might as well play a siren off youtube through a speaker strapped to front of your car.

how about you put a air horn on that thing in stead of using a normal car horn.

He only pressed the horn to change the siren tone, and double pressed to silence it

@@Tommyrogerson Nope, he gave a dopey van driver a piss weak horn blast th-cam.com/video/UIc-Kh7XpvI/w-d-xo.html . The other person is right, they need something to get the attention of useless drivers.

I'll tell you what they need....... prosecuting. Surely this sort of footage is evidence enough for proving a case of driving without due care and attention. After all it is an offence, and several examples were plainly visible here.

Every new response vehicle setup comes with a bullhorn, only firetrucks have airhorns in the UK as far as i'm aware, this guys setup is very old and basic like the sirens and the fact it doesn't have a bullhorn makes it more tricky when he's out on the road as i would imagine this response vehicle is very easy to miss.

@@YelpBullhorn Idk whats more dangerous a van driver not paying attention to a response vehicle with sirens quieter than my microwave with poor lighting or a response vehicle only cancelling sirens and leaving his lights on forcing cars to stop on a bend and mount grass while the responder comes to an almost complete stop on the bend? 5:19 having been in a vehicle on a blue light run with an instructor i can tell you that right there is a huge no no, just because you have blue lights and some sirens on your car doesn't mean you can drive dangerous too...you're taught no emergency is worth getting to if it means putting others at risk...common sense really.

Poor lighting and siren setup is to blame mostly, people can believe me or not i don't care but i'm not joking when i say a fire officers car in my town has the exact same lighting setup with exact same sirens and my god are they awful! might as well strap an iphone to front of a car and play siren through that, lighting is also poor with a single LED in window with probably a small lightbar on top or not even that, sirens are dated beyond belief and only has a wail and yelp which says a lot, its why every response vehicle now with updated setups will have bullhorns for the exact reason with the van, blue lights and sirens should do the work for you and move over when safe not slam on brakes and get out their way no matter what! thats why some peoples reactions aren't instantly...like forcing drivers to stop on a bend and mount grass....no good cancelling sirens and leaving your blue lights on as people will still attempt to stop! this is taught to every blue light permit holder....should of turned all your equipment off for a short period when you noticed the drivers slowing down attempting to let you pass on a bend and you slowed right down to basically an almost complete stop on a bend...dangerous! ..this is probably the 4th or 5th time i have watched a near miss with this responder and its all came down to not being seen or poor driving from the public as well as himself.

Hey Tom, we are not all perfect and we do get it wrong occasionally......sometimes it happens to quickly to get it right first time.........

I'm guessing by your reply you're an authorised blue light driver? The 'issue' on the bend happened for too quickly for the driver to really react by turning everything off. It was more a case of MOP panicking.

@@roadrider9994 No offence but as long as you have a set of eyes you can clearly see a bend is coming up with traffic slowing down, i'm just simply saying it was quite dangerous as people were bashing other drivers for being "dangerous" so i just pointed out that making cars stop on a bend and coming to a complete stop after a van already failed to even notice the response car was dangerous....i'm not bashing the driver i just think his response car is dated and not fit for purpose and everyone makes mistakes ie the public and advanced drivers is my whole point...people were pointing out things about the public so whats wrong with pointing out issues i see with the driver? when in a situation where you're going to cause a driver to react badly like forcing them through lights or crossings or have them stop on bends you are taught to cancel blues and twos not just sirens as its logic that the public will see blue lights and still carry on reacting just like they would if sirens were on...like the driver replied above everyone makes mistakes which is true.
