I bought a ZTE Spro 2 last month and im loving it, 720p android based with 100 lumins portable and 200 while plugged in.
I'm just discovering your work. You guys are doing a great job for the community. I just watched your review of 2015 projectors already on this 2016 review I am blown away with the high end production quality. You guys are all the way up on your production game. Loving it. Great quality lighting and presentation. This is the way to do it. The projected image is color balanced too so the images don't look blue. Go figure. When on is presenting a video about a projector and are displaying images make sure you do a color balance or set you camera preset color balance settings to day light (5600k). Well done Android Authority. you set the standard. FYI don't forget to sync the shutter speed on your camera to the projected image. Otherwise you will get the rolling shutter look that appeared in one scene on this video.

Awesome video. the best projectors I've ever seen so far are made by Aiptek. I saw their products at IFA Berlin this year and going to make a short video. They are super awesome but kind of expensive though.

That cylindrical projector, was pretty awesome!!
If the Jmgo was 1080p, I could see its 600$ tag. It wouldn't be so bad. Now whats easy to look over, that thing has a 3hour battery. So lets say you're on top of a mountain. Surrounded by trees..Bring a fold down screen stand, and you've got a fun movie viewing. IF you could've got it for 500$ it was on indiegogo, that makes for a very interesting buy.
That asus for 249$ is interesting though. Say all you're watching is a regular dvd or playing a old game?

The AsusZenBeam was looking good until I heard it was 480p😂 The JMGO is really pricey but worth the price really. Great video Krystall but what about the Puridea Portable Projector? Give that a shot maybe?

the Jmgo P2, by far the best out there in the market, the only downside is its weight being 1kg and the battery life for 2.5 hours.
got SONY for 250$ in offer. it plays more than 3 hrs in battery. autofocus is superb. yes ofcourse got a new SONY home music system. using 1.8m screen. yes but need darker rooms for bigger display.
i actually planned to use for client presentations. gives more gadgeterary values.. ;-). unless u say, no one belives its a projector.. looks like mpbilephone or batterypack. 8 of myfriends got ans some waiting for stock.its worth for money.

Really disapointing. The JMGO would be a must have if it were much cheaper. 720p is good enough for portable and cost saving but the JMGO price doesnlt reflect that. 480p on the others in 2016 is a joke.

I have been looking for a small but powerful projector.
you should check instead an aaxa projector, i have the p450, i use it with an xbox one, it has native 1280x800 resolution, 450 lumens i set it to project a 3m diagonal image in a small and dark room and looks as bright as a tv, its as small as these ones and the image quality is amazing.. there is a 650 lumen version with an internal battery for like 420$ i think, the p700

The biggest secret of this video is that the audio from 0:15-0:26 was recorded in post because the camera originally could only hear the deafening fan noise coming out of the fans of those 5 projectors.

i was set on buying the celluron laser but just like the sony they are just not bright enough i then looked at the asus s1 which had a good battery life but no onboard media player so i would need a mhl lead and power source to connect my phone. finally i decided on a picopix 3414 140 lumens with 2 hour battery and on board card slot and usb for watching movies. if it doesnt have a usb in or card slot with on board player dont bother

How far back & how big can the projection be & still be visibly watchable? Looks like your about 8 feet away. wonder if the scnreen could go up to 8 feet wide or so & still look ok?

What ever happened to the ZTE Spro Plus? It was supposed to come out this summer and there hasn't been any news on the device since February at MWC this year.

native resolution for each? and 4k playing capability? can they play with power supplied from wall? how long continuous usage suggested? ambient light friendliness (need dimmer or complete switch off)?
wats the max screen size each can put out without distortion?
star rating of all these devices based on that. portable projectors are very useful when on tour and office presentation. these dates affect them....

that's it's weakness too, you can't use it as a stand alone projector, it's not at all pocket friendly and worst part is it don't even have its own speakers.... oh wait not even battery 😑 ultimately it'll be outdated asa you switch to New phone.
yes it does have its own battery. lasts about an hour. as far as lifespan in the tech world, yes that remains to be seen. it's not a gaming projector , other than that ,there's no real need to hook up anything else to it considering its android and anything is accessible on a phone like that. (program wise and video wise).

Hi, I saw your review and this is why I decided to buy the JmGO projector, now that I got it I can't download Apps like Netflix, or others, how did you do that in yours?... Also, there's no way to project wireless from a LapTop straight to the projector it needs a HMDI cable. Please if you know how to link a Microsoft Laptop to this projector without the HDMI cable neither with a TV, please let me know cuz I got this projector and now I am so disappointed. Thanks in advance.

I like a projecter thats not in the video. Its a tablet with a projecter and adobie surround sound. Also it runs Andoid. :)

I'm surprised I didn't see anything from the company AAXA in this video, you can get a 1080p experience for about $100 that ain't too shabby

Considering software and hardware, Android 4.4 may be the most suitable version. Actually, mostly manufactures are updating the Android system. It is a complex engineering project.

Android 4.4 was never meant to be on projectors or TV sticks. I've seen those things and it's bad. And for that matter, no Android is made for that, and unless the company behind it puts a real effort to make it happen, Android TV is a better option.

lol the ending, I have 2 full size projectors and there both 1024x900 and there picture is perfect while my portable projector no clue its resoulution but its the only one with HDMI while the 2 big ones only have vga, s-video and componet or composit ( the yellow ), the portable projector though clear while close to the wall its still no where near as bright as the big ones and the screen can not get nearly as big ( tried and it started to turn into a big blur because its just not bright enough ) once this issue is fixed for a cheap price ill buy another one ( one of my big projectors keeps telling me to replace the bulb ever time I turn it on so I asume the bulb will die soon ).

What about the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro?
I've got one of those. The projector isn't very useful. You can get a 60" ish screen in total darkness and enjoy some movies. Darker films are a no no but Pixar like cartoons are fine. It's only 480p too. The size of the tablet makes video a joy to watch and that's what I do with it. A netflix machine for bed :) Games run badly on it,nthe res is insane but no great GPU to drive it.
Yeah the projector is alright for night time use. Do you find the software really buggy and prone to crashing? Mine does it all the time.
