I saw this when they first released in gold (Smoke Almond) and fell in love. I've had it for just over a year now, and she does not disappoint! It does so much, so well, and for a very reasonable price for what it is.
It's bright! That can be dialled out though. They are superbly finished. Mine was near faultless and I'm fussy. The control knobs were a bit wonky but fully pushed down they levelled up - the pots are good and progressive. No fret sprout and the laurel fboard was tight and not dry. Best finished guitar I've ever bought. Great value for money here if you like the modern twist on the classic SG. The brightness of the pups is eq-able and doesn't really bother me and for some they can be swapped out as a mod if you must have a deeper gruntier sound and let's face it that is SG territory traditionally. Ironically, therefore, this makes a good country, jazzer but you can still get it to grunt as standard. The best finished and set up guitar I have ever bought and it looks bloody fantastic in the metallic blue - Epi call it radio metallic blue and it is not far off HB's pelham blue but a little bit brighter. For the money, I think it's the best value guitar I've ever bought.
I just got one of these today, from PMT in Romford. Same colour. Maybe the one you played in this video is literally the same one I bought. It's certainly possible. This is my first SG. And I picked it up firstly just because I thought it looked amazing. But then when the guy told me it had coil splitting, I was immediately sold. It sounds close enough to a tele when you coil split both of them and play in the middle position. But warmer. Cos of the mahogany I suppose. The tele is already one of the most versatile guitars in existence. This muse SG is that, plus humbuckers too, on the same guitar. It sounds gorgeous. And the treble bleed circuit is amazingly useful. I've never tried a guitar with treble bleed before. Now I'm thinking I'll never be able to go back to a guitar that doesn't have treble bleed lol
Just got the jet black metallic one today. Can't wait to thrash it about when I finish work. Having looked over it and restrung it, it looks and feels pretty damn perfect.
@@mrdevil848 It's lighter, slimmer, and has the output jack on the outside edge. And also has much nicer finishes. I'd say definitely better. It's one of the best guitars Epiphone have made in a very long time, especially for the price. The Standard is a good guitar, but the Muse is stellar. I've got around 7 electric guitars and the SG Muse is by far the most comfortable of them all. Perfect for fast music.

Mr D --- would you possibly bring YOUR SG('s) in for a show? Would love to see your own axes. You play the SG so natural... I could easily believe you run a couple. It's one guitar I don't have myself, and oddly, have no plans to alter that state. But one never knows what awaits one around the next rockin' corner...🎼🎶🎶🎵🎶🎸🍀🍀🍀
There's a million different SGs with pick guards. So I like that this one is different. All the guitars in the Muse series look absolutely gorgeous. And you van easily add a pickguard to it if that's your only issue with it. It wouldn't be difficult to drill the holes into it and screw in whatever pick guard you like. I kinda like the idea of a white pickguard on this white SG, rather than black. Or even silver, to match the pickup covers. That'd look sexy as fuck. But I like the look of real wear and tear on a guitar. It makes it unique, gives it character, makes it yours and nobody else's. I play very hard, and so I practically end up scratching a hole into the pick guards of all my guitars. I absolutely love the white muse SG I got today for Christmas. I tried a bunch of guitars including a lot of ibanez and Jackson ones. But the muse played much better than those, which surprised me. But I usually practice only on an acoustic, because I don't want the hassle of plugging in a million pedals and things into amps every day, and I don't wanna annoy my neighbours cos I live in an apartment with upstairs and downstairs neighbours. I'd say I'm an electric guitarist first and foremost. But I practice 80% of the time on an acoustic. Though I usually use very heavy strings regardless of what guitar I play (we're talking like 13s) and so I'm very used to doing wild bends and stuff on an acoustic. And I've got some very old acoustics from the 60s and 70s, with big thicc necks the likes of which you never see anymore these days So all of that is to say, I'm used to thicker necks. The Muse sg had the thickest neck of all the guitars I tried. And it felt the best in my hands. I like a neck I can grab, I can't play well when I have to be all dainty with a very thin neck. So maybe it's just me, but the muse sg is a joy to play And so I will probably scratch through the paint on it. But like I said I think guitars that naturally accumulate wear and tear look gorgeous. Fake pre-aging looks ugly as sin. But guitars like SRV's strat which show years and years of actual playing, those guitars look great to me So yeah the pickguard not being there isn't a problem for me. But you should try a muse SG, and a muse les Paul too. See what you think. Because they are wonderful to play. And you wouldn't need to be a skilled guitar luthier to be able to drill holes into it and add a pickguard

Main thing is the coil split. It makes it incredibly versatile. It sounds like a tele with the coil split activated, because it literally turns the pickups from humbuckers into single coils. Especially when you're in that middle position, with both coils split, you get that classic twang and spank sound. You could even coil split one pickup and not the other and go into that middle position, to have a combined humbucker bridge and single coil neck sound together, or vice versa a single coil bridge pickup together with a neck humbucker. And then you've got the polarity split knob position too for even more variety in sound. Other than that the main difference is the appearance. These muse SGs all have unique and gorgeous paint jobs. They're even more gorgeous in person up close instead of watching a video The regular SGs are great at being SGs, but that's all they can do. They're much much less versatile than the Muse ones. If you don't want the option for single coil sounds on top of the regular humbucker ones, or the enormous variety of colours of the muse guitars (the standard ones only ever seem to come in red, or very rarely in black or in walnut, but 99% of standard SGs are in red and that's all the variety you get, one colour) then just get a standard SG. But try both in person. Never buy a guitar online where you can't test it before buying. Personally the Muse versions were a pure joy to play. They felt absolutely fantastic to play in my hands. But your mileage may vary. You may prefer something with thinner necks, or thicker necks. So you can't know, unless you try both one after the other
@@duffman18 you the man good sir🙏 you helped me make a informed decision. I'll try both out and buy the one that fits my style, body type and feels home just like you said. For many of you this may be a sign Jesus is coming back very soon. PLEASE putyour faith and trust in Jesus and His finished work on the cross, make Him Lord of your life and be saved. You never know when it will be your day......
Jesus was a bigot. You're a far more moral and ethical person than jesus ever was, you're a better person than him. The proof is the Bible itself. You're a better person than the Bible commands you to be. I'm pretty damn sure you already are a far better more moral and ethical person than the Bible is. I don't think you actually need the bible in your life. I mean you personally, you're already a better person than the bible wants you to be, so why need it at all? You already pick and choose which parts of the bible to follow, you don't follow everything it tells you to do, which proves you already get your morality from outside the bible anyway, because you just inherently know that things like slavery are evil and wrong, even though the Bible says it's OK. ⠀ Because jesus explicitly says in the bible in Matthew 5:17 that _every_ _single_ _law_ _and_ _rule_ _in_ _the_ _Old_ _testament_ _still_ _applies_ _and_ _will_ _continue_ _to_ _apply_ _till_ _the_ _end_ _of_ _time_ . In John 7:16-19 he berates people for disobeying the old testament, and in Luke 15:17 he says it's easier for the universe to fall apart than for one single letter of the law to. ⠀ So picking and choosing which parts you wanna follow is literally disobeying a direct command from jesus. You either follow literally every single law in the bible unwaveringly, or you're not actually a Christian, and that's according to Jesus himself quoted word for word in the bible. ⠀ And so you already aren't getting your morality from the bible at all, so why even need it? You are absolutely 100% a more moral person than the Bible asks you to be, you are already a far better person than the Bible thinks you should be. You're surely against slavery, against genocide, against murder, against rape and especially the rape of children, women and children having to obey the man that owns them (father or husband) and if they don't obey everything their owner says, the owners are allowed to kill the women and children to death for disobeying, and still are allowed into heaven because it "doesn't count" as murder under those circumstances. That's what the Bible tells people to do, follow those objectively evil commandments, like murder and slavery and rape being OK. You're against all of those things (I hope) . I know that for sure. You are already a good person, why should you need to read a book where anything that agrees with what you already think, you keep, and anything that disagrees with what you already think, you ignore? You pick and choose from the bible because you know which parts of it are objectively evil, and so if the Bible never says these things are evil, then how do you know that they are evil at all? Because your morality comes from outside the Bible. Morality is secular and objective, and it's the morality that you follow just like I do. ⠀ By picking and choosing which parts to follow, you're proving that your morality comes from outside the Bible, because otherwise you wouldn't know which parts are good and which are not, if your morality didn't come from outside of the bible, then you wouldn't know which parts are so bad that you have to ignore them to be a good person. Nobody had to ever tell you that murder and slavery is bad, you just know it. Because humans are inherently moral and morality is secular. The minority of people who aren't like that don't represent the other 99% of humans. Humans are naturally altruistic and charitable. It's how the human race survived several near extinction events. Because people worked together in communities and tribes, meanwhile all the individualistic and selfish people died off in ice ages or catastrophic volcano eruptions or any other of the near extinction events. The human race was down to just a few thousand people, a few thousand survivors, and everyone alive today is descended from that small group, and it's why humans are naturally altruistic and charitable and they help their fellow man because they know it's the objectively moral thing to do. ⠀ ⠀ So why even need the Bible at all, then? Your morality already comes from outside the bible, which is why you don't own people as property, or murder your wife and child for disobeying you, or go around raping children. You know those are bad ideas, without anybody ever needing to tell you that. The Bible never had to tell you murder is bad and immoral for you to understand that. That belief of yours already existed before you read the bible. Someone who's morality hypothetically _does_ come from the bible would need to be told by the Bible that murder is bad, and they wouldn't have known that otherwise. ⠀ The vast majority of Christians are far more moral ethical people than the Bible commands them to be. Very very few Christians follow the Bible word for word even though jesus commanded them to do. ⠀ So the bible is just an unnecessary extra step. Your morality is already there, you don't need to spend time double checking it, by using the bible, and then ignoring any time the Bible doesn't agree with you anyway. The Bible is not going to change your mind on things like slavery and child rape, you're going to not follow those parts of the bible anyway, so it's just a waste of your time reading through it all like that. Your morality is not based on the Bible, it never was, it comes from outside of it. So why waste time going through it all like that if it is not going to change your morality anyway? No, in fact, the bible has to adjust to _you_ and _your_ morality, by the fact you throw out the bits that don't agree with you You're a good person. Not because anyone ever had to tell you how to be one. No, you're a good person because you were born that way, and 99% of humans are the same way, naturally moral and ethical and kind and altruistic and charitable. So go forth and rejoice, because you are an objectively good person, without ever needing anyone to tell you how to be that way. Congratulations, you're awesome, and you were born awesome.

The human race was down to just a few thousand people, a few thousand survivors, and everyone alive today is descended from that small group, and it's why humans are naturally altruistic and charitable and they help their fellow man because they know it's the objectively moral thing to do.

So why even need the Bible at all, then? Your morality already comes from outside the bible, which is why you don't own people as property, or murder your wife and child for disobeying you, or go around raping children. You know those are bad ideas, without anybody ever needing to tell you that. The Bible never had to tell you murder is bad and immoral for you to understand that. That belief of yours already existed before you read the bible. Someone who's morality hypothetically _does_ come from the bible would need to be told by the Bible that murder is bad, and they wouldn't have known that otherwise.
⠀
The vast majority of Christians are far more moral ethical people than the Bible commands them to be. Very very few Christians follow the Bible word for word even though jesus commanded them to do.

So the bible is just an unnecessary extra step. No, in fact, the bible has to adjust to _you_ and _your_ morality, by the fact you throw out the bits that don't agree with you
You're a good person.
