- Trailer for the upcoming fanedit "The Godfather Saga: The Complete Epic Trilogy 1901-1997". This edit contains all deleted footage from every version of the Godfather movies ever released.

I spoke to the guy that inherited the project from the original editor. The original compiler got burned doing some work on the TN7 75mm transfer of the original Star Wars (apparently he donated some film elements that were supposed to be returned but never were), and this experience soured him on the prospect of fanedits in general. He donated a big box of all the A/V stuff for this project to the Godfather Museum for completion.
Godfather Museum said that he lost hundreds of hours of work in a hard drive crash sometime around 2017. His backup drive only contained an earlier save of the project, meaning he lost almost 200 hours of work. He consulted with several data extractors who were unable to de-corrupt the primary hard drive.
He has all the raw footage necessary, and has been collecting even more sources that he wasn't aware of originally. A lot of this stuff has to be transferred over from 35mm/16mm and VHS, and it was too overwhelming, so he just shelved it until he could devote the time necessary to give it 110%. He said he got deeply depressed once he lost all the work he had put into it, and is torn on whether he should keep going.

You know Paramount has something special planned for the 50th anniversary of The Godfather. Time will tell what that is.

Read my comment elsewhere on here. In a nutshell, dude lost a bunch of work in a hard drive crash, and was going to have to start over from scratch. He's still interested in completing the project, but it's going to take a bunch of work. He was about 89% finished when the drive crashed, so now he'd be starting over from about 55%.
ENTIRITY is wrong. It's spelled ENTIRETY.

How can I purchase this edit? The website doesn't work.
WWETheDog It'll be available for free. All you have to do is own legitimate copies of the three films and download via torrent. It hasn't been released yet. It'll be released later this month or next month. They've been working on it for 3 years (maybe more) and it's the longest edit you'll ever find.
Oh, man. I've The Godfather saga on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, and blu ray. It's my favorite film. I still would like to have this chronological edit on disc(s) though, because I don't enjoy watching shows (especially long ones) my laptop. Thanks for the info.
They're going to be distributed as 5 files I believe. From those you can burn dvds.
Don't know how to do all that. I'm an old fart and not too computer savvy. If you contact me once the edit is complete, I'll pay you to make a disc(s) copy for me if you don't mind.
