Yay! I knew which branch to keep, but instead of shortening the second one I would have removed that one too, and added back one of the others so as to have an uncut tip. You really showed the value in lightening the branches by thinning out the leaves. I must get bolder with that.
I used to have difficulty deciding what to keep and what to cut out. Practice helps a lot! I now can see the lines better and what needs to be edited. There was an error in the video; the branches used were Virginia Sweetspire ( Itea virginica) not Sweet Pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia). the main difference is that Sweetspire blooms earlier, has flower spires that hang down. (Also has beautiful, bright, red foliage in fall!) Sweet pepperbush blooms in the middle of summer July/August, the white flowers are vertical and the foliage isn't as attractive. Itea is a great plant to grow in the garden; it stays relatively small, it will spread somewhat and more plants is always a plus. The red stems set off the bright green foliage very nicely, the branches have great lines and form and the fall color is amazing. You can arrange Ikebana with it twice a year! I grow it in my garden and I do use it in flower arrangements. I remember the video you did using Hydrangeas from your garden, maybe you can do a video tour of your own garden one day 😃
You show me more tips and techniques to practice in each video than I can keep up with. Amazingly beautiful and lively but elegant at the end!
Thank you for watching! So happy to hear you are improving by watching my videos!!

If I have a chance again, I will do the video tour of my garden! Thank you so much!!
It would not be easy for me to decide which branch to cut!
As always a great experience, thank you!!
It's all about practice and eventually you will know which one to cut! Thanks for watching ✨
