The best thing about the Filipino accent is that it can easily mimic different English accents around the world. So be proud of that accent. Keep it up!🤩😍👍🙏
Thats contradictory. Filipino accent is pilipino aksent. Try to say amerk neksent.
This goes to show that 'speaking' is just ONE part of any language. If you want to 'develop' an accent you have to practice it so your brain gets used to it.
natatawa ako pero sa totoo lang sa call center madaming magagaling na mag American at british accent kahit dito lang sa pinas lumaki@@taglavis
Filipino accent when you sound with Filipino intonation when speaking in English. Pero kadalasan and Filipino English ay neutral.
@@taglavis Luzon accent yan. Iba sa bisaya accent pagmag english may twang
It doesn't matter what accent you have. The most important thing is proficiency. Ang cute mo mag Tagalog!
Tawang tawa ako sa mga char chariz malamang pakipulot hahahahaha paano kayo naguusap ng parents mo eh parang mas magalingka pang magtaglog kesa magkorean
Agree
your tagalog is perfect 💯
hahahahaha her filipino accent sounds so natural yeah and its so cute.
Flattering naman yarn kasi pinoy ako, mas magaling ka pa managalog sa akin… mahal na yata kita agad
Perks of Filipino Accent : You can mimic every accent, and assert your vocal dominance.
Your statement is so far from the truth. People can detect Filipino accents from a million miles away regardless of level. The Filipino language is a great backdrop if you want to learn Romance languages, like Italian and Spanish. But if it's English you're trying to learn and speak like the natives, good luck. You will have to employ an expensive speech coach for that.
This is not just a problem that Filipinos face--all people of different cultural backgrounds experience it. It depends on where you learned a certain language as you were growing up. I learned Filipino and Japanese when I was growing up so I have no accent in both languages. Now, that I have lived in the USA for 35 years, I still can detect a Filipino accent in my English every now and then. I have better natural accent (or lack of it) in Italian and Spanish but I don't know about my French pronunciation bc I have never recorded myself. This is not to say I can understand French--I just get a kick out of pronouncing their words correctly.
So, no don't get ahead of yourself and think that having Filipino as your native language has given you more advantages than the rest of the world. You sound unknowing.

My native languages are English and Tagalog. I have a North American accent (like Connecticut, Jersey) and I don’t carry over that accent when I speak Tagalog. I speak both languages distinct to its own accent. I am proud of both my heritage and I am thankful my mom taught me to speak Tagalog and the Filipino culture.
It's always been funny to me when Mrs. Rick pronounces my name so differently when she is speaking English, and then Tagalog.
Hindi lang yung accent ang Pinoy, pati humor at paraan ng pananalita hahahaha ang funny mo girl, tawang tawa ako sa mga pa chariz chariz mo 😂❤

To my Scottish ears, many Filipino accents are lovely and quite musical.
Specially to visayas accent sounds like sweet and musical
To my ears the Scot and Irish accents are beautiful like a lovely little river.
Akwaplask, jabetis, iskol
Ive work with custmer service and musical fiilipino accent is no good, native english speakers cant hear the words if your not speaking clear english.
I don't think I wanna hear a Filipino accent while having intercourse. Tagalugin mo na lang ako kung ganun, wag mo na pilitin mag English 😂
It is such a pleasure to stumble into your video! I envy you for your mastery of Tagalog. You speak Tagalog better than I can ever learn to do, and for the young adult that you are, you possess a level of wisdom and integrity that, sadly, not too many in your generation have. I am a 79-year-old retiree who have lived in the US since coming to New York for graduate studies in 1969. I am a native of Aklan Province (of which the famous Boracay Island is a part) and, therefore, Tagalog is not my first language. In my time, Tagalog was taught as a required, discrete foreign language starting in the 5th grade of elementary school and throughout high school. Of course, throughout our four years of high school, we also had to complete our course work in Castilian Spanish in addition to Tagalog. (In those days, Castilian Spanish was one of the three official languages of the Philippines.) I only developed an acceptable level of proficiency in conversational Tagalog during my college years in Manila and, even then, some classmates who were native speakers of Tagalog would tease me because I spoke “book or written” Tagalog, but that did not bother me. You know that Filipinos tend to be regionalistic and, as such, we Visayans mainly socialized among ourselves on and off campus. But I digress! Suffice it that I sincerely appreciate your affinity toward my homeland and appreciation for the Filipino nation. I shall be looking forward to watching more of your videos in the future. Thank you for the pleasure.
ang galing nya... para syang Pilipino magsalita even sa Tagalog.

I just want to say that your facility for Tagalog and English is phenomenal and your accent in both languages is lovely!
Love your English and your Tagalog. Highly appreciate your attitude towards cultures and languages. If more people are like you it's going to be better world.
Go girl. Push mo lang.
I once have an American friend who stayed here in the Philippines for years to the point that he learned speaking both in Tagalog and in our own dialect.. The funny thing is when he went back to US his family and friends found his American accent weird! That's true somehow in someway our Filipino accent got assimilated with his native accent that He himself was not totally aware of...
In other words, English is the common ground in the Philippines.
Just remember, Filipinos can adapt to the whole world because of their English accent.
The whole world are serviced by the Filipinos, yes sir - the outsourcing industry.
There are no ratings in English accents. It's the grammar and essence that counts.
As far as I'm concerned, you're Filipino by heart 😅 you definitely get the Pinoy banter and expressions that can only be embodied if you live and assimilate with the locals long enough. Love it!
malamang 4 years old ba nman lumipat sa pilipinas.
This is the first video I've watched from Juwonee's, and I was like "Wait, why is her Tagalog and English sounds Batangueno--?" Then lo and behold, you ARE from Batangas. GIRL, your intonations are LIT.
Filipino is more like a combination of different languages (not dialects) in the Philippines, with Tagalog at it's base... As the Philippines began to be more collectively unite we adapt on using or borrowing words from other languages here in ph such as ilokano, cebuano, espanyol, and etc. terms. Tagalog is like the Old English of Modern English, as it is to Filipino. Even English is getting into the mix
Yes Juwonee you have 101% Filipino accent tapos ang ganda mo pa, doon na attract ang mga Pinoy subscriber. Tapos na pa ka intelligent mo pa. 🌹Annyeong

We cant ignore the fact that shes pure Korean and she speaks super fluent and with full slang tagalog.
My take on this is, retaining your own accent, Filipino, Thai, Korean, British, Scottish, German etc, etc English accent is good. I just don’t know why people think there’s a better accent. At least you are unique in your own way. You’re distinguished where you came from and you can communicate and reach out universally as you mentioned to a wide range of people. Keep it up. Your Filipino-English accent is remarkable and impressive. A lot of people has been living in the USA yet they still don’t know how to speak English esp those who came over at an older age. More power to you💪🥰👍
Very cute content, your humor is very Pinoy as well.
I am glad you're proud of your accent because an accent reflects your identity and your culture. Having a Philippine accent shows that you grew up in the Philippines and it is never shameful to have a different sound as long as you can communicate in that language well... so kudos! I hope other Filipinos would think this way too and be proud that we can speak English and communicate globally in our own unique way.
hahaha! UP(ian) ka talaga. Oo nga naman, laking Pinas so it is understandable na pinoy accent siya. Pinoy accent is too cute to listen to kaya....especially in the big cities.
Your Filipino accent when speaking in English is the default accent of Filipinos here in Manila. So normal and default na siya. Kudos to your vlog!
You’re so sweet and pretty. Impressed with your tagalog speaking ability. So right, accent doesn’t matter provided you’re understood. Our differences makes us more interesting and attractive. Blessings be yours always.
I like how you justified it! Tama! Accent does not matter as long as both of you understand each other. Keep it up. Stay proud that you have Pinoy accent.
I love you Juwonee, you are so natural...I proud to be Filipino. Where ever in the world Filipino were standing...thank you for having a Filipino heart... fighting Juwonee😊
The Filipino English accent is the most neutral of all English accents. It's accessible to the ears making it easy to understand whether you're British, American, Australian, etc. It's the main reason the BPO industry is booming in the country.
Nope. It's not "neutral". That's a myth being tossed around. BPO is booming in the Philippines because English is one of our languages and it's cheap labor, like India. Also, what's a neutral accent in the first place.
I've met a lot of Filipinos and the most general way they speak English sounds lovely but it is far from neutral! Some, even in the BPO industry, have quite impenetrable accents, too. But on the whole, they do speak well. However, the reason for the growth of the BPO industry is mostly down to cheap labour.
@@jaustmike9001
A neutral accent is speaking with little to no accent. It doesn't sound American, British, nor Australian. A neutral accent is common among Filipinos who grew up in an english speaking environment. It's not English with Tagalog or Bisaya accent. It's an accent that's easy to understand whichever country you come from. That's why it's called neutral. There's an accent neutralization training in bpo for a reason. Some Filipinos don't even need to practice speaking in neutral accent. It comes naturally to some Filipinos. You usually encounter University students speaking English with a neutral accent.
Anu masasabi nyo sa Accent ng India..?😁doon nauna ang BPO..industry di ba..😁
What a stupid thing to say. There is no such thing as a neutral accent. The only reason Filipinos get call center jobs is because it's cheaper.

I like your Tagalog accent. Shows you grew in a Tagalog-speaking area.
Just like many other Chinoys
Yes. She grew up in batangas and lived there for at least 20 years.
Kasi she also studied in a local school--di siya nag-aral sa Korean school or even sa ISM (International School Manila). Even if 20 years siya dito if she's more often with Koreans or foreigners she'll never have a very Filipino Tagalog accent--one good example of that is Dara, na even if she stayed long here never really had a very Filipino Tagalog. Juwonee talaga very Filipino magsalita kaya nga di mo akalain na Korean pala kausap mo.
@@Milliardo55 that's true, Juwon even studied in UP for college, so talagang na-neutralize na into Filipino yung accent nya. Also, Ryan Bang has an even thicker Korean accent than Dara, even though he has already lived more years here than her. i guess also because they were already in their adolescence when they moved here and weren't able to fully adapt the Filipino accent (nothing wrong with that though), compared to Juwonee na sobrang bata pa nung nagmove dito.
She's learning English and Tagalog at the same time that's actually amazing and difficult and pretty obvious that she took a lot of time to have that kind communication skill
Be proud Juwonee! You speak several languages that's the most important thing!!!
wow! spot on accent! galing mo JUWONEE!

Filipino is an aggrupation/consolidation of all the many languages/dialects in the islands. However, the base form is based predominantly in Tagalog. Filipino, like English, is an official language to also bridge that gap and serves as a common language for communication throughout the varied languages in the archipelago.
no shit sherlock.
The second language of the Philippines is English. While Filipino (based on tagalog) is the nation wide or national language spoken all over the country. There are 170 dialects spoken throughout the archepelago.
You are lucky that you know 3 languages(FILIPINO, ENGLISH and KOREAN. I am a FILINO/AMERICAN CITIZEN. I speak Tagalog(PILIPINO), English and Pampango (my vernacular language from Pampanga. I also know little Spanish language because my ancestors were Spaniards who came to the Philippines when our country was colonized by the Spaniards. We had Spanish subjects when I was in High School and College but I think it is not a mandatory subject anymore. You impressed me with your Tagalog accent. Keep it up.
Wow I'm so impressed! Ang galing mong mag Tagalog at mag English. Natutuwa ako pag may foreigner na fluent sa Tagalog nakaka proud💖💖💖
I love you as you're being grew up in the Philippines and inherit the Filipino cultures and Filipino languages including its accent..
You speak English very well 👍👍. As long as you can communicate in English, that’s the most important thing. And you are right, people from Asian countries are more critical when it comes to English accent. Other races understand and respect that everyone/people from different countries have different English accents. Filipinos ranks on top for Asian countries who speak English.

Yes, you do have a Filipino accent and that’s not something to be ashamed of. But more than your Filipino accent, I’m really amused by your sense of humour which is very Filipino. Be proud because you’re not only Korean or Filipino, but a very likeable person too.
For me as long as we can understand each other we're good. Even if you have like a strong south asian accent like thai, malay, singapore, indian etc.
If you speak 2 languages, you are already better than 57% of the world population. If you speak 3 languages you belong to only 13% of the world.

Tawang-tawa ako sa intro mo Juwonee. Totoo naman, di ba? Kahit sa UK iba-iba accents nila. I like your episode today. Go go go!
Most people who criticize others for speaking English with an accent probably are unaware that they too speak English with an accent. There is no such thing as "no accent" English. The other thing that was funny to me was how many people were surprised that you spoke English with a Filipino accent given that you spent most of your childhood living in the Philippines. What would be surprising is if you didn't. Also, I've noticed that there are many Koreans taking English lessons in the Philippines. So, I guess there will be many more Koreans speaking English with a Filipino accent. How great is that?
Well the best reason why there's alot of koreans and japanese study english in the phil. Is because it's a LOOOOT cheaper than studying in western countries.

Some people may not be aware that you can improve your English accent by watching English movies or by imitating someone's accent. Particularly for those who grew up in the Philippines, you can develop your accent depending on the specific English accent you want to adopt. However, it still depends on an individual's ability to adapt to the accent of a native English speaker.
Natutuwa talaga ako sayo pati pag ugali, kilos, mag isip very Filipino..... Keep it up ❤️ ❤️❤️

Whoaaaa, you’re so fluent in Tagalog and English! I hope I can be fluent in Korean Language as well! Love from New York 💚 🇺🇸Accent doesn’t matter in the US, as long as you can convey your message clearly, then you’re good! 👍
I migrated here in the USA 4 years ago. So yung engish accent ko is not american but I'm pretty sure it is far better than a typical Pinoy engish accent na ma emphasize yung A, I, E at R. I asked my American friends kung ano masasabi nila sa english accent ko. They said Filipino English accent is cute and very gentle in their ears. Medyo concious kasi ako noon sa accent ko kasi di nila maintindihan yung ibang words ko like Mercedez Benz in american accent it sounds like Mersayedeeze Benzz or yung Twenty sa atin is twenty pero sa kanila is twenee or Internet is innernet and yung Rubitusin sa kanila is Rahbeetahsun. But at least I'm glad they love the filipino english accent.
Have been here in the US for almost 40 years. Usually what people say to you is not necessarily what they’re thinking. It’s small talk and they’re trying to be nice. I have an old very Filipino name and often when they ask me how to pronounce it, they will say , “that’s a pretty name” 😂. Not one Filipino i grew up thought my name was great. Also whenever i come across people who I couldn’t understand because of their very thick accent, I wouldn’t say to their face, thats a terrible accent. I would just concentrate to try to understand them better. After 40 years here, i have better understanding of what’s true and what small talk.
