- A visit to Walt Disney World the night announcement was made the parks would be closing until end of March 2020 . Disneyland was the first Disney US park to announce closure followed by WDW a few hours later .

Staying in Orlando till at least they the weekend then figuring out my travel plans . Originally was gonna cross country drive it but now leaning on flying home instead , Been away over a month already . Hard to ignore WDW the next two days since closing has been announced . Expect video on that subject as closure nears .

I was wondering about this very scene, as many spring breakers may be driving the old fashion way, purchased tickets at the store, and may not even know about the closure till they attempt to park. I assume that if they made ADRs or FPs, Disney has a way to contact them, but not everyone knows they can do this sort of stuff. And can you imagine if this sort of thing happened in the old days? You know, back when you could just show up at WDW during spring break and NOT have any plans at all. No way to know until you got there, or were lucky enough to catch the report on the news before you left.

Don't forget how mad Clark W. Griswold got when he travelled across the U.S. just to find out Wally World was closed...let that be a warning to Disney theme parks!
Construction closures are announced well in advance, though, and Clark was stupid not to check. Happened to me when I booked a stay at the Polynesian in 2014, was also just before the Norway ride close to be refurbished to Frozen. I got plenty of notice that there would be construction going on during my stay, plus I got an extra fast pass to replace the one I'd booked for that ride.

haven't had a chance to watch yet - but will - but need to say - My daughter works there and I was nervous as she and her boyfriend would be broke if they closed - but Disney, being the CLASSY company it is, is paying them (maybe you've said that). Great company and I am happy to pay their prices if they treat employees this way!
Now if Disney steps up and actually pays their employees the money they deserve that would be great.
as a fellow disney cast memeber i must say theres a lot going on behind the scenes and a lot of people are upset because sadly disney is showing us how much they don’t care about putting us in risk
16megan1 if you are a healthy person then you have nothing to worry about. If you do have an immune compromised issue then I would be concerned.
Oh Boy think about all the disney cast member, i know ill be fine but theres such a big group of us all different ages, health conditions on top of that live with families in no way will everyone be okay because disney wants to keep exposing us to it
16megan1 it is true if you live with infants or the elderly then that is a concern. They should have given those with immune system issues the option of not coming to work.

Exactly the same over in the States. Kinda weird, though... no pasta or flour but plenty of packaged crackers and cookies. These people most likely eat the packaged goods all the time but they stock up on basics. I guess they’ll have time to bake now. Although the chili cheese Fritos were cleared out, so folks have their priorities. ;)

Same. No milk, any type of meat, diapers, wipes, formula, eggs, paper products (such as paper towels, tp and such), sanitizer, laundry stuff, cleaners, cold and flu meds and I'm sure other stuff... This is just what I saw at my local Walmart and have heard about other stores around the US.

We got stuck on the Matterhorn during our only trip to Disneyland some 15 years ago. After a 30+ minute wait in the cart, they finally came to get us and led us through the inside of the mountain. It was like a special tour! Also, it happened to us about 3 years ago the TTA in the MK.

We just watched these videos from the last days before the parks closed. It was too sad to watch when it happened. It’s trippy to watch these now - how we all thought the quarantines would be short, how washing hands and bumping elbows was big. It’s amazing how things have changed in just a few short weeks. I’m glad you documented this.

The parks closed on September 11th, 2001 I was in Orlando on the day going to the Magic Kingdom when That happened
We were there too but were supposed to fly out that day. We had to go rent a car because we were going to be there for awhile and the marshals at the airport put their guns into the taxi. That was truly terrifying.

did you receive one of those free admission tickets that never expire? I heard they had a ton made and kept in a safe just in case such an event ever were to occur. They managed to evacuate the parks completely within 30 minutes. Super impressive. Given the time and technology, I think there were a ton of park goers extremely angry at being kicked out, because they did not know why until later, and of course, were naturally understanding soon afterwards. My family went during Xmas/New Years that year, so a little over 3 months. We decided that avoiding such an iconically American place during one of the biggest Christian holidays would mean the terrorists won. It was, up to that point, the busiest I had ever seen it! Didn’t go back until early May 2005, and yes, the parks were empty. So the tourist industry may have crashed, but I don’t think they were hurting during the holidays.
Danggg I missed you I was there yesterday! Got back to the parking lot as soon as the fireworks started.

So interestingly, we are visiting in LA from NY at the moment during all of this. We are heading to Disneyland today during the last day of it being open til the shut down. We shall see how it looks on a crazy day.
We were there from the 7th thru the 13th. Did our last park on the 12th and flew home to TX the next day. Glad we got that done

SOME rude people who are sick visibly and audibly who (if it was me or most people) should NOT be in a crowded public place of OPTION.
(they do not NEED to be there, and are sick, but they do it anyway)
I get it,...its expensive to cancel, the people with them would be denied, they look forward to it for so long...etc etc. But still, people should think of others,....Disney is thinking of everyone here.
There was a rude lady behind me on the SkyLiner with a productive cough and bumping me,...after repeatedly hitting me with her packpack and coughing within inches of me I finally told her to please give some personal space, and she was laughing.
ALL the people near us were very uneasy,...I never mentioned the "V" word, but I explained to her,
,...it`s not funny, people are concerned, and I think YOU know what I`m talking about.
She did know, and agreed. She stopped, but it was like I was the bad guy by saying anything.
Then she tried to touch me with her filthy coughing hands in a gesture of "reassurance" by placing them on my chest,...maybe thats what custom is in France, but it is NOT mine in a PANDEMIC.
Disney is doing the best thing, the right thing IMO. Its a hard to pinpoint grey area,....the sick will still try to go, exposure will happen, and the cycle is broken by the closure. Great Move IMO. Bleach that happy place out,...especially where Typhoid Frenchie was staying. Stay Healthy Woo

I would say the novelty of this rare happening would underscore the content desperacy of some of those vloggers,...but Adam The Woo is the Swiss Army Knife of Vloggers,....he is on the cutting edge of many creative topics and locations near and afar.....
Interstellar Axeman yes Adam the woo is awesome. That’s why I’m a subscriber. His content is great and he just doesn’t do Disney only. Plus when he does do Disney it’s done with a totally unique twist. My comment is based on all the channels where they literally go to Disneyland or Disney World every single day, that’s why I said Disney Vloggers. They do the same thing over and over. All you see is people that live in Orlando or Anaheim walking around with cameras vlogging at these parks. Literally daily they go to these parks to get views. They don’t realize how desperate they look for views.

It’s unbelievable how some of those Disney Vloggers literally go to the parks every single day for views. They don’t have any other content but Disney. Or they take their kids to Disney parks so much for views it just looks sad. Some of the kids look like they don’t ever want to go to a Disney park ever again because they are there everyday.

Fun fact: I know someone from the US who volunteered in Africa during the huge Ebola outbreak. Everyone there did elbow touches to say hi in proper settings, instead of shaking hands.
Bumping elbows has been a foodservice/culinary custom for a long time,...if you work in a kitchen and are prepping stuff, as a greeting workers would commonly bump elbows so as to not touch anything.
I would say its been embedded in the culture for decades....makes sense to me.
