So greatly missed is this show. I always was anxious for it to be on every week. Severely disappointed in Season 4, however. Not including Bash was wrong. He deserved to be there to the bitter bloody end. I wish this show could be resurrected again.

I know I’m so overdue but I’m still gonna say that it’s a masterpiece it’s storyline, characters, costumes, story settings, crew, artworks, everything was renaissance/fantasy/medieval aesthetic dream as it should be with a slight touch of modernity of course specially on the accents and costumes which is entirely understandable. I love everything about *REIGN* .......well, maybe except for the fact that Francis had to die. I know he had to but it’s just too excruciating to continue to watch after that.💔❤️ I still can’t move on although it long over that’s how fantastic this masterpiece is.
More like a lot of modernity, with a slight touch of fantasy, and nothing medieval or renaissance about it. You should learn about the actual histories of these characters. Their lives were really fascinating and eventful, and nothing like the show depicts.
Just Another Happy Humanist I’m not gonna try to be a perfectionist critic and just simply appreciate it for people actually worked hard for it. Reign made me want to know more about these characters so yeah if I didn’t watched and fall in love with Reign I wouldn’t even know or maybe even care about the histories of these monarchs. They’re backstories are marvellous but it is already written in history and I’d like to see something more, something out of the box, and Reign certainly put that touch on. I’ve had discovered plenty of more accurate series/movies whatsoever but yeah if reign was portrayed perfectly and accurately base on history I wouldn’t even think of watching it for I already know what’s gonna end up bc history already has it.

The real clothes from this time period are actually insanely fantastic and magical and it’s unfortunate they didn’t care to incorporate it into the series. Just felt absolutely lazy to me.

I loved it also. It wasn't totally real at all but the basics of the story we're totally real even though romanticized in the movie, Francis did not die saving Mary. Francis II died a month prior to his 17th birthday because of an ear infection and intracranial inflammation and swelling on the brain. His mom and Mary were at his bedside but sadly it was 3 days before Mary's 18th birthday and her mother had just recently died of cancer. Mary loved him and he loved her and princess just simply adored Mary Queen of Scots and she was the strong forceful type like in the series that would stand up to people but in truth she and her ladies were much more silly and they were with her until the day she died. Her ladies may have fooled around but none of them got married or had children because that's just not what ladies of the queen do or did back in those days. In some ways it seems kind of sad because they can't have outside lives of their own but yet they lived in castles and got to party all the time and the French were known to be pretty wild and sexy back then.
You’d think the French characters would have French accents & Mary’s lady’s & her mother would have Scottish accents. Mary a Scottish or French accent, depending on where the convent she was raised in was located.
I hate how they rushed the last season....it sucks they didn't continue this movie...😪😪😪 Theres so much I would have liked to show into at least another season.....

The biggest problem I have is one, those who are French, do not have French accents. Those who are Scottish, do not have Scottish accents. Please, it was painful.
Any resemblance between this ridiculous show and real history is entirely coincidental. They got a few major characters' names right, they got it right that Mary was brought up in France (but at the French court, not a friggen nunnery!), they managed to figure out that she would eventually go to Scotland and spend her final years in England as Elizabeth's prisoner... But that's it. The costumes that the people in the video are so proud of are not even remotely historically accurate. Somebody must have said, Hey, let's use 21st century designer dresses in this, the audience doesn't study history, they'll never know the difference! Thank goodness Megan Follows acknowledges this. None of the others seem to have clued in. What a stupid show.
Geez you don't have to insult the entire show just for the costumes they wore or the accuracy of events, because the purpose of a Tv series is to attract people and for that to happen of course they changed it a little. If you expected for them to even use the SENTENCES they said back then, that means you shouldn't have watched the show in the first place.

Well that's the understatement of the year! It's a real shame, because they obviously did great work with the sets.
