„December is not over, you animals!“ 🤣 That’s what I‘m thinking when all those videos pop up by the end of October… Those folks probably celebrate their birthdays four weeks earlier too 🤣 … I have the first of the First Law books by Abercrombie and want to read it in 2025. From what I hear, it’s one of his best, so I‘m intrigued.
Haha I'm just joking around....kind of... 😂 First Law is certainly worth reading for the characters alone. We shall see how it all plays out in book 3.
I did not expect to see Abercrombie here! He’s my favorite. The first trilogy is very meandering, but I def recommend reading the third book. The characters are top notch and I love the gallows humor.
I'm a man of many interests, haha. But yeah, I will definitely finish the trilogy. I've also heard good things about Best Served Cold. If there's another one you would recommend, feel free to let me know!
@ I love all the first law books. Best Served Cold is excellent! I thought the final Age of Madness trilogy was top notch. I love that I found your channel, as we have very varied and similar taste!
@Alicia-606 noted, I'll keep those on the radar! And thanks! I'm glad you found it too! I only do this because I love meeting all the other cool people that like the stuff I like, and chatting about books and whatnot.
"It's a kids book." - Bryan from Bad Taste books after giving me grief on my channel for saying the same thing. I totally agree about the best/ranked etc being done too soon. I was going to wait also but then I thought about it and was like, people are going to get burnt out on them by the time January rolls around so I did mine early to. But yeah I read three more books after and it's till 2024.
I've been called many thing, a hypocrite is one of them. Haha see!? Now I'm just gonna wonder about those 3 books forever! I couldn't do it. It would drive me crazy.
I legitimately need to get into Animorphs. I haven't read any of them since I was like 9 and I barely remember a thing about them... But first...I need to get a copy of Frankenturkey!
Not gonna lie, ever since your review I've had my eyes peeled for Frankenturkey. Also you summed up Lomokome perfectly, "Yeah...I think...um...it's odd. I think I like it? I dunno." - Literally everyone who's ever read it.
I do too! Honestly...Animorphs might be my favorite middle grade books. Never thought I would admit that as a die hard Goosebumps kid. But they're just so well done.
I agree, year end wrap up before the year is over??? I really liked the First Law trilogy by Abercrombie, stick with it till the 3rd book, he writes character arcs that resemble roller coasters.
Infinite Jest: I didn’t finish it, either. It just didn’t hold my interest. Wallace’s first book, The Broom of the System, I found fascinating. Might have been the right book at the right time. It’s rare for me to dnf, although I don’t feel bad when it happens accidentally, like I leave the book on the subway, or pack it up for a move. Stuff happens. Maybe I’ll get back to it one day. Thanks for sharing your November reads. 😺✌️
I didn't read them as a kid. But I'm loving them as an adult! I plan on watching the show when I'm done with the books, but I haven't heard great things about it.

@@BadTasteBooks you don't have to wait forever, just until next December. Besides time is made up, it doesn't even really exist.

I highly recommend both!

Haha, I'm a real influencer!
Yeah I really didn't know what to make of it.
@@BadTasteBooks Same.
Great stuff! I love middle grade horror. All I remember about Animorphs was the flip-book animation in the corner. I'll have to check them out again.
I do too! Honestly...Animorphs might be my favorite middle grade books. Never thought I would admit that as a die hard Goosebumps kid. But they're just so well done.
@BadTasteBooks I have heard that they are "serious" and "heavy" for kids books. I'll have to give them another go.
Great video, Bryan. Have a happy New Year.
Thanks Josh, you too!
TOTALLY relate with you about DNFing, especially since I started participating in BookTube. I actually DNF'd one of the books on my winter tbr
Ooh I look forward to hearing which one and why

Oh I definitely will be finishing the trilogy. Excited to see how it all comes together.

Thanks for watching! And yeah, maybe I'll go back to Infinite Jest someday if I'm feeling brave. But I just couldn't do it.
My goodness it’s been years since I saw a Aninmoph book. I remember them being good. I really didn’t care for the show though.
