🌹The Rose Buds knitting stitch pattern is yet another super simple 2-row repeat stitch pattern but still quite elegant and intricate. It reminds us of the Twisted Stitch pattern because of this variegated yarn.
Follow along with the simplest instructions:
    Instructions:
    Rose Buds Stitch
Multiple of 2 (even number of stitches).
Use 1 size larger needle than what the yarn calls for. (Or more, if you wish a lacier look.
    Repeat from * to *
    Base row.- Knit
Row 1.- Knit 1, *Yarn over, (knit 2 stitches together, do not take them off the left needle, yarn over and
knit those 2 stitches again)*. End with a knit 1.
Row 2.- Knit 1, Purl 2 stitches together end with a knit 1.
Repeat these 2 rows for pattern.

I just wanted to thank you very much indeed for this lovely tutorial. Over the colder months I have knit several scarves using rosebud stitch as gifts. I used wool rich Aran which has tonal changes and a copper thread running through. This stitch is lovely because it gives a lovely soft and springy feel to it, it is a delight to have discovered your channel!

These roses will never die! I like them very much! One can knit them - only one rose a row - one over the other as a line from sole to the end of the cuff of socks and it looks very nice; or two to three of them in line and then row by row as I wrote. These were the first ideas I had watching this nice video. Be blessed!

    • @JoannesWeb

What you do is that after knitting the 2 row repeat, the row #3 would start with knit 2 instead of only 1. Then it will come out offset.

I love the pattern. I memorized and did my best...but I HAD so much trouble. Is it because I was using 4 ply yarn? And, larger needles? When I would pearl the first two of the four stitches together, the second one in had to be pried open with a nail file so that I could get the needle through. The last two stitches in the group of four were no trouble. I tried to knit as loosely as possible...but it didn't work. Really enjoyed the video. Thank you

Hi, if you were knitting in the round on the second row/round would you just K2TOG all the way around instead of purling 2 together? Also I am assuming after the 2 round/rows are complete you still have the same number of stitches that you originally started with? Thank you 😎

    • @JoannesWeb
      @JoannesWeb  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes. On the second round, you knit. Yes. You end up with the original number of stitches.
