Parting wings is an aggressive not a passive attack, as is every tech in American Kenpo, and should be viewed and practiced as such. Applying a tech like parting wings to counter a passive push will potentially get you in a lot of legal trouble. These self defense techs, or more importantly the ideas, concepts and principles behind them, should be applied to optimum on the street or not at all, no different than deploying a weapon. Salute.
