This guy is invaluable even for people who don’t have these units. You could apply his tips to other gear and plugins. That being said, Fractal has the best sims.
YES! FAS Modern is my absolute all-time favourite for all things high gain! Funnily enough, I've always thought of it as more of an idealised 5150 rather than a Dual Rectifier. Modern III sounds a lot more Dual Rec-y to my ears. The gain knob on my Modern remains at low as 1.5-ish most of the time if not lower.
I like how the FAS amp models are idealized versions of real world amps with the design flaws either reduced or eliminated.. they're so easy to load up and play like you've us shown here.. by the way: do you know who Yek is? (other than a legendary FAS contributor from the Netherlands).
The filter trick is awesome, thanks Leon!

Super cool filter idea! Cheers LT!

Love it! Doesn’t even need the boost to me, adds a little too much clank for my money. The MBC is a godsend.
All three of them sound great like he said, which one works for you nicely done.
Great job Leon :)
Leon I love how you lower the gain and then add 12 db of Grinder boost!
:D
Very interesting!!!
