I think you put the flexible segment in the wrong direction. Just take a look again at the image of track layout on the box. And i think if you put in the correct direction, it will make the cars more smooth on the track...
Yea, a lot of us kiddos remember this track from Stunt Track Driver on the PC 20 years ago. This snake, the octoblast, & the volcano blowout are still some of the most creative track ideas I've ever seen!
Just what I needed for the layout track! And, yes, once I got this set, I sometimes use NEW Hot Wheels cars to test this track set out and see if any car would work.
Man I remember like 5-6 years ago when I was like 10 I was so into collecting hot wheels and I like was addicted to this channel. All of a sudden this popped into my recommend and I have been watching the older vids for hours now. Making me wanna pull out my old sets from the early 2000s and make a track. I’m not sure if you saw my review of this track set last weekend. But I also found the car flew off on the corners. For a old set it’s great to look at but difficult to accomplish a race on. I guess the Cobra wins. Great video.

Ha ha cool, they have made the connectors that snap the flexible bits of track together look like cobra's fangs, or am I reading too much into it, lol? The old sets I have if the box is in bad shape I cut the artwork out and frame it and hang it on my wall.
You had two of the linked sections backwards. The curved part of the individual links nee to face the direction that the car is going. If you look closely at all the pictures on the box, all the links point the same way. If they face the wrong way, the cars bounce on them. The link pieces that connect to the tracks should have arrows on them so that you know which way the links section is supposed to face.
First, I would want to do some downhill racing with them since that doesn't harm the wheels. Then maybe a few will get some Track Time =) By the way, I found more carded Hot Ones in a container so I'm making a bonus video on my mr.grooves channel. I was trying to get a better look at that car that comes with the set, I was also looking at a few older cars that I have and I realized that I actually have that car shown with the set! Didn’t know what it was from I just found it in a drawer at my house when we first moved in!
Mark, try the cobra track with curves, but this time try to see if the cobra curves, will handle a little banking, I was just having ideas, it looks like a cool set, but the loop I like but its disappointing, as the longer cars get stuck.. but I love the set, thanks for showing the cars from way back! by the way, one of the cards on the back was celebrating hotwheels 15th Birthday! Wow!

I think I know how to make the cars to slow down when they go around the curves You should a put books under the track like it shows on the box so that way the cars won’t fly off the curves
I have most of the cars Mark, the Datsun has an opening bonnet, sorry hood, too, think the one I have is white, the Hot Ones wheels are great, they make a completely different noise to normal Hot Wheels, really smooth sounding and not rattly like normal HW.

Hills. It was one of the greatest toy department stores ever. Their tagline was hills where the toys are. They were a good store with a carnival. Kind of theme at the front you could buy pretzels hotdogs. Cotton candy and play all kinds of arcades before you even went to the store They had one whole back section uf Toys and you could see them as soon as you walked in. Sticking out like a big Fun thumb check out their Christmas commercials. They are awesome

Hotwheels should re-use this type of flexible track nowadays. It's really smart as track system.
But they should improve the curves first.
