    Thank you for your helpful and informative videos! I was using Inkscape to change a JPG into a DXF file and there were two types available , DXF 12 and DXF 14, I wasn’t sure which one to go for so I didn’t dare risk choosing the wrong one as I’m in the process of opening an Etsy shop. Thanks for your help, Tanya, - it’s much appreciated.

    Thank you so much for this video! I am trying to learn how to make my own SVG files and this is helpful. One thing i'm trying to figure out is, where do you get the clip art used to make your own files(like the american flag)? Can you just incorporate other JPEG and PNG files that you buy? I see a lot of SVG shops that make these detailed files that seem like they use other files to make their file. I hope that makes sense! lol

    • @ShootingStarSVG
      @ShootingStarSVG  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great question. I do not recommend using purchased clip art or images to use in your projects unless you modify them to the point they cannot be extractable. I am working on a video about licensing and proper use. The American Flag I made so I use it often.
      It all depends on the licensing terms of where you purchased as well
      Some allow use of their elements for digital but most do not
      Does that make sense?

  • @libbywestmoreland6481
    @libbywestmoreland6481 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you so much for this video! Super super helpful. Question, I usually use Silhouette so I’m not as familiar with Design space. When I make a design with multiple different color pieces ,for example text where every other word is a different color, on Inkscape and open it on design space and go to “make it,” the words are just all in a row, not spaced out as they appear on the design. Is there a way to fix that in Inkscape? Or would the customer just have to fix it in design space after purchase?

    • @ShootingStarSVG
      @ShootingStarSVG  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I recommend creating compound paths of the similar colors in Inkscape and then try bringing it in to CDS. It's either that or the customer needs to know how their software works (some do some don't)
      So if you have the work LOVE and the L and V are pink and the O and E are red you would select the L and V in Inkscape and create a compound path and do the same for O and E and then group them before saving. Try that and let me know how it works for you.
