I am glad that I cross your video. Girl I had a lady who was trying to sell of how to work with Inkscape, I was lost in words of how much she was trying to sell her program that I had to delete her program in a heart beat. I decided to search on youtube and yours was the first one that pop up and I am so happy. I hate the fact that people tries to use people that doesn't know nothing about Cricut or svg files. Thank You so much for being on youtube.
I’m trying my best to help as many as I can. And Inkscape is free so I want to help teach it for free! So many great resources on TH-cam! I still have so much to learn too ❤️
Thank you, very helpful tutorial. I will rewatch and master that banana. I am new to following and subscribing, but cant wait to find more of your videos.
Can you help me please. Ive just started to learn inkscape. When i open an image say minnie mouse and its in colour i trace bitmap so i have the colour image and the black and white version. I will then go to path and click on break apart on the black and white image and i can see squares with dotted edges, then click off and the whole shape is then a solid black colour. The problem is it wont allow me to click on the areas so i can change to different colours rather than the original. There should be a yellow circle which i click on the solid black image then i choose a colour. Can you please help me before i go insane 😢 thank you
Sometimes the back image is pushed forward. Have to tried to move it or send it back. I change that solid color to a gray then send it back with the levels button. Then I see all my broken apart pieces. I have a tutorial on this too! It’s a little turtle in the thumbnail
@@dinosaurmamasvg thanks I'll take a look. So frustrating when I see others doing it no problem then when I go to do exactly the same it doesn't work 😭
Can you help me with the following problem. i made some illustration on the canvas containing 3 pages and a bunch of diagrams. When i try to save one of the selected diagram as SVG file, the application closes without saving. I'm able to save png, but the problem is persistent with SVG exporting.
I am new to Inkspace and have been learning a lot on how to use it. I cannot, however, get the SVG file I save on Inkspace to load correctly on Cricut Design Space. The spaces I made are not longer aligned. I am creating a billiard ball design, and with the striped balls, I cannot get those strip shapes I created to transfer over either. It seems like they revert back to a circle shape I started out with. Any advise?
So, what I think might be happening is that your objects (i.e the strip shape or circle) isn't changed into a path. Try both of these: first click on your object then path drop down, then object to path. Then what I would do is, select all the objects and copy them. Then open a new window, paste all the objects, and save the file again on a new window. I know that sounds silly but it's worked for me in the past. Inkscape can be a super finicky program.
@@dinosaurmamasvg thanks for the advise! I did the object to path and copied it into another file to upload. The shapes themselves aligned better within the cricut design space, before the shapes had been skewed from the original design, but the shape for the stripe reverted back to a full circle.
It doesn't work when I do the intersect part. I swear I did everything based on the video, but I get left with the small shape and lose the banana completely =(. Any tips?
Yes and I just get left with like the little piece that's supposed to be the shadow. I lose the whole banana lol thanks for answering me =) @@dinosaurmamasvg
@stephaniefreitas2297 if you duplicated the big banana you should have two. One to intersect and one to keep whole. You might be duplicating the wrong piece. The bottom piece should be duplicated. Then intersected into the small piece to leave you the overlay. I think I’m understand but I am not sure.
@@dinosaurmamasvg so I’m duplicating the bananas and aligned them and then in my banana I made the shadow piece green. So I align all 3 pieces and then when I click intersect I’m usually left w a yellow shadow piece (but like the skinny part of the shadow that curves on the banana) not the whole block sorry idk if that makes sense and omg tysm for genuinely trying to help I appreciate it sm

great beginning video. I have been so intimidated by Inkscape, but I think I will try it again. Thank You
Thank you so much! I am going to do more and slow down my pace 😂 I’ve been told I speed through. I’ll be doing a weekly technique so stay tuned!! 🥰🥰

I need to do some more Inkscape tutorials! I am glad it helps! I know you can master it
Thank you so much for your tutorials 👍🙏😉
Glad you like them!
You lost me at the banana but thank you for this tutorial.🥰
Thank you a lot!

My suggestion is to copy the whole image and paste into a new window and try again. This sometimes fixes the glitch!
Was a video about tracing ever done? I know you mentioned uploading one but I can’t seem to find one.
Like trace bitmap or tracing an image?
@@dinosaurmamasvg tracing an image with the pen/bezier tool & nodes! Thank you for these videos, they’re tremendously helpful :)
Absolutely! I don’t think I have one using the pen to trace 🤔 but I can work on that for next week!

I’m so glad it helped! Inkscape is great for being free but definitely has some small bugs! Fixable but a little annoying.
I will try
Yay!! ❤️❤️
I dont have that box on mine when I open inkscape
What box are you speaking of

@stephaniefreitas2297 you can only intersect two pieces at once! That might be your issue!

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll try to slow down in the future. Have a blessed day.
