Really proud of the guys performance today and brave decision to leave out Biss, Madders and Son. That said, Werner as waste of space - again. I thought Bergval was immense and more than held his own against a very physical Newcastle midfield. Really getting stuck into Linton, who is a real powerhouse. I was surprised when he was subbed because he was my man of the match. Djed Spence did brilliantly and looked quite accomplished in defence. Johnson not giving enough when we don't have the ball - needs to man up and take responsibility. Great to see Ange get super passionate today.

You take any team's goalie and two main centre backs out of any team, and are forced to play a selection of full backs in their places, and any team would suffer similar nightmares to what we have. Please God, I can't wait to get all our injured and suspended players back, and fighting for a European place and maybe even a top 5 spot (and no, I'm not joking). NUFC fan here, like most of your summing up of the game although with your complaining about time wasting you are sounding like an Arsenal fan. Look at the stats you guys had the ball most of the second half, and we wast.ed time? At times in the second half I thought Spurs were leading the amount of time your goalie and players were wasting. As for the ref, I agree he was woeful, worst I have seen this season. Any dive from your guys got given as a foul and we got given very little. He even gave you over 12 minutes of extra time for you to try and score. Keep up the good work, amazed how on the fly you remembered the details of the game. Thought Solanke and Porro played well for you guys, especially Porro. Wish Maddison would spend more time playing instead of diving, great player we should have signed.

    • @SpursTalkShow
      @SpursTalkShow  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

I didnt complain about it. I just said Newcastle played the game well in that regard and the ref should have set a better precedent. Newcastle do what they have to do to win and fair play to you for playing the ref well.

Positives, Brandon Austin for rising to the occasion and not being overwhelmed, I really hope he is given a chance. Collected the ball from crosses well, seemed comfortable.
Lucas Bergvil excellent passing range and energy, yes some of his short passing needs tweaking but he looks great overall. Archie Gray again, didn't put a foot wrong. Djed Spence brilliant as a centre back in the second half, we looked so much better at the back when Radu went off, (appreciate the latter wasnt feeling well!) Shout out to Reguilon for coming on, I felt we looked better balanced at the back with him in. Appreciate that maybe isn't his usual position too! But felt he worked hard.
Game itself i felt the ref let an awful go, look Newcastle were better that first half, but Joelinton and Dan Burn were lucky to remain on the pitch. Second half we was very unlucky. Certainly encouraging signs there. But we certainly miss some of our players. I definitely feel Gray and Bergvil are the players to have in thr center of the park once VDV and Romero come back. Lots of options there in the middle.
Still need a couple more signings i feel for rotation, but hopefully the injury list goes down and we will start moving up the table!

A few thoughts: Johnson is wasted at RW, he's quite clearly a goal poacher down the middle (most likely only off the bench though), Porro is a much better RW and showed it today.
Austin and Reguilon proved Ange wrong in the sense that they clearly could have been much more involved in some of the other games where we've needed to rotate.
Dorrington should get a go at CB in the cup. Dragusin and Gray desperately need a rest and today showed how giving some different players a chance can give an uplift in performance. Obviously disappointing to lose but didn't get outplayed like in a lot of our other defeats.

Very good game from Spurs (even though we lost). Newcastle 1st goal, in the other end would be cancelled. Austin (100x better than Forster), Djed, Bergvall, Solanke, Porro., Gray (breaking the line on the 2nd goal was the only mistake) were the good ones. Johnson and Werner were a nullity, Kulu complicates the game too much and Sarr was missing. Radu was no doubt debilitated. Madders, Son and Bissouma came in very well. Newcastle was allowed everything (Dunn and Joelinton should be sent off but all was permitted). Even with the number of injuries and the bug... we were good and promising. We will get there eventually (and on time) For now, let's have the haters speak... glad you Sean are balanced and fair.

In the 2nd half Newcastle invited us on to them but couldn't finish off good crosses from Porro. Sean is always ready with excuses because at the end of the day we lost again !

It was 12 v 11 today, Johnson stops tracking back around 10 meters before the penalty box. Question, are the players being coached in training?

Gordon shouldve had a penalty and your Ref added 13 mins for you to score but you declined his kind offer , So it was your ref not ours , and you let him down

    Excellent review, Seani, mate.
    Yes, I agree 100%
    Austin & Djedi were awesome!
Our young team gave a really good shout & faced injuries, sickness & a Ref who gave a shocking handball goal & refused to send off Burns and Joelinton -
We should have been 1-1 against 9 men - and we would have got this one over the line for Ange.
And our divas in the squad - Johnson? Arrogant, lazy, overpaid - I'd swap him for a decent winger in the January window - if a deal comes up.
    Get in there you Tottenham.
    LiVARpool on Wednesday....
Hmmmm, who's the Ref & who's on VAR??!

Great jobs done by Austin, Gray, Bergval, Spence and Solanke.

I’m probably biased but Newcastle’s first goal should never have been allowed. It’s true that his hand wasn’t in an unnatural position but the path of the ball was completely changed into a pass to the Newcastle player?

I would have thought that Solanke could have pulled out wide onto their left back for Austin to hit and push Johnson up the middle. Even do the same on our left and push Werner into the middle on Long balls.

I'm not sure what people see in Bergvall because I can't see it. To me he has no peripheral vision and many times get caught on the ball. He also doesn't seem brave enough to play through the lines. Currently he's about 60% of Maddisbon and was proved here as soon as the subs were made.
