Albert said basically nothing except "yes" and "no" until he was asked a direct yes-or-no question. Then he hesitated. Interesting touch I never noticed until now.
Elle - I know the chances are less than zero, and the performance was comical, but it was absolutely brilliant. I rewatch it often. I’d put it among the top five moments of the revival.
David Lynch didn't really have any extended Parts in the original run of the show so in season 3 he really had to step it up. He did not disappoint in any regard and this is the perfect scene to showcase his often unsung acting Talent.
I watched two whole seasons of Twin Peaks without realizing this guy was played by Lynch (didn’t know what he looked like at the time). Such a good actor!
Kyle should win best actor. Laura Dern and Naomi should win.and David Lynch should absolutely positively fucking win and the Emmys should kiss his ass for gracing television with his presence. Because everything else on tv is garbage in comparison. He probably just recreated television just like he did with the original Twin Peaks. Bravo.
This was Miguel Ferrer's last role. He can't have been sick for long, considering he shot this in 2015 and died at the beginning of 2017. The show aired later that year. The Return was made just in time for a number of the original cast, who have since died. The Log Lady died four days after her last scenes were filmed. It's not morbid, I'm just happy that all these people got to be in the revival. And it had been 27 years since the last time Twin Peaks was onscreen.
It would be great if Twin Peaks won - a brilliantly twisted return from the original two series and the ending was awe-inspiring and extremely sad - David Lynch has always been in my life
So good. Lynch's character seems paranoid; the way he said, "Do _you_ understand the situation, Albert?" Almost sounded like an accusation or as if he (Albert) might be hiding something.
I think it was more the hope that Albert had picked up on something that Cole didn't. Cole is very rarely on the backfoot, especially when it comes to matters involving Blue Rose related circumstances, he's probably one of the world's foremost authorities on the subject and yet he can't see where things are going. That'd make anyone confide in their right hand man, don't you think?
Super late to this, but, Gordon and Albert were cross examining eachother. Gordon was probing Albert for uncharacteristic responses, while Albert was testing Gordon with the grating noise. "Do _you_ understand" is indeed an accusation, they are both trying to determine whether or not the other has been replaced with a tulpa.
I still remember the feeling of first time watching Twin Peaks: The Return . Sunday with pizza and fully with emotions on screen (On Netflix ). Thanks David Lynch.
I love David Lynch and his character - in the tv series TWIN PEAKS - is definitely one of my favorites! A law guardian, really very eccentric and extravagant! I still hope that Lynch he can resume this role in the future ... for a sequel of T.P. or for a new TV series, somehow connected to it!
YAS YAS YAS. Not only has he made The Return a groundbreaking fiction on TV as a director, he's also given a larger than life performance as Gordon. David Lynch, I love you.
RIP Gordon's ears....i feel that pain all too well. Getting ear raped by laughter or any sort of loud reaction while wearing your aid is no joke. That shit hurts. Once i had it turned up to max because my professor was practically whispering and one of the university's alarms went off...im still revovering.😢
Dullards thinking they understand this show is always amusing You don't think it's significant that this is the only scene in the whole franchise shot with a blue filter over it? Where they discuss blue rose..?
@@berdyderg900 I think that whoever attempts to insult someone on the Internet and then asks questions expecting the other party to give a crap about said questions is a brainless idiot. That's how you do it, kid.
Actually, it is. Lynch is known for avoiding the color blue in most of his work, and thus the over top use of it here is a nod not only to Blue Rose, but to that, I would imagine.
Sir John Hammond yes lynch is known for avoiding the colour blue in his work apart from blue velvet, twin peaks the return, the Mulholland drive key and box. Very smart.
Albert said basically nothing except "yes" and "no" until he was asked a direct yes-or-no question. Then he hesitated. Interesting touch I never noticed until now.

Damn, nice catch
Goddamn, nice catch!
Nice catch, damn!

❤️
You know a situation is extremely serious when Gordon Cole whispers.
That’s why this scene hit me so hard when I first watched it; I’d never heard Gordon speak softly and so seriously before
@@EnderSpy358what about Shelly's magical healing voice
David Lynch saying he doesn't understand this situation
Now that's a rare sentence.

Davesky19 -I f#cking loved Wally Brando. I was watching it thinking it was brilliant.
I thought that scene was weird as hell
@@Davesky19 My favorite part is how Sheriff Truman reacts 😆
This show deserves to win all the awards it gets nominated for.
even those that it's not nominated for at all!

Ironically Sardonic amen
Kyle Maclachlan frickin played 4 characters and he didn't win
Miguel Ferrer deserves a nomination as well!
Greatest line uttered! Second would be, "Fuck you, Albert," while third is "Fuck you, Tammy!"
I will say even after all the great scenes before, THIS is when I knew they were knocking this out of the park.

It was a question, but an answer itself, leading to a more explicit reaction from Albert, so Cole would know they were both on the same page.

also how terrified they were after meeting mr.c (thinking it would be cooper). this scene accentuates how dreadful mr. c is
I'm hungry for some cherry pie. Oh and more Twin Peaks :)
Cooper didn't taste cherry pie in season 3 though. I mean he did when he was Dougie Jones but not himself. It's all complicated 😁
“Blue rose” shivers up and down my spine, every time.
Twin Peaks The Return deserves all the awards 🥇

Yes, believe it or not, hearing aids are basically a microphone and speaker, and at a loud enough volume might create a feedback loop such as this.

David Lynch is a treasure
Not gonna lie, Gordon kinda scared me when he said he didn’t understand the situation at all
same feeling as the ending
