I been commenting this on many vids but, episode 10 is pretty much 20minute flashback on how and exactly why Aura is gonna get absolutely cooked
And it's still fire🔥
Such a fun and long way of saying, we knew she was going to win, but... let show you by how much, lol./
And i like it
Frieren hates demons so much that she kills them in a poetic justice kind of manner. She kills Qual with his own spell Zoltraak that he was so proud of. She kills the demon in the prison cell that wanted to break her neck and behead her by breaking his neck and beheading him. Then she kills Aura by turning her own spell that controls others against her. Just like how Aura killed countless people by beheading them or making them kill themselves, she made Aura suffer the same fate as her victims by killing and beheading herself. The plot and storyline is so good that it is on par with the way all the Homonculus are killed in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Adding to that, demons are prideful creatures. But Frieren didnt even give Aura the honor of dying by her hands. Legit killed her in one of the most disrespectful way possible

Fun Fact: Himmel was the only human to ever make Aura the guillotine truely scared, he terrfied her so much that after her first and only encounter with Himmel she went into hiding all until decades after his death, this is why she was so glad to hear from Frieren that he finally croaked. With her undead army, she is certainly the type that would sit back and allow her soldiers to do all the work, she would never expect to get hurt in any way, otherwise she would simply use Auserlese to completely dominate them before they even got to her. As shown in one of Fireren's flashback images, it appears that Himmel was actually able to seriously wound her before she even got the chance to cast Auserlese, knocking away the scales of judgement. Frieren was the one to to take her out in the end but making a Sage of destruction terrified to the point of hiding for nearly 80 years by your mere presence is a feat not many are able to accomplish.
Im also guessing Auserlese doesn't work much on Himmel, probably because he has insanely high will

While I overall agree, it should be clarified she went into hiding for 50 years, not 80. It is stated earlier she returned to power 28 years ago. i.e. she waited until Himmel was dead and immediately went back into action. She makes it clear she knew or at least believed he had been dead for decades when she speaks with Frieren.

My favorite thing about Fern pointing out how Lügner wanted the petty payback for her surprising him is that when he first walks up to her as she's pinned on the wall all dead-faced, the first thing he says is "why are you surprised?" when she's not exhibiting any outward surprise at all. It's like he couldn't wait to get one over on her lol
edit: aw, preparing canned spells in advance is always a fun idea to play with. (well, something more tangible than spell slots in the mind, I mean)
We used to call those hung spells. Your character would do everything to cast a spell, except the final verbal or gestural component that triggers the spell. Time to cast, near instantaneous, just speak the trigger command or make the gesture that activates the spell. Then you would still have time to do another action. Hung spells were a great weapon to use.
Frieren really sees demons nothing but mindless monsters, absolute savagery. Even when she killed Draht and said "that's one down" she used the way you would count insects in japanese.
25:50 those flashbacks show them fighting Aura as well when they first saved this city from her, and it shows Aura being slashed by Himmel. Then in the present, they said that Aura only regained her power 28 years ago. Right after Himmel died. She was so frightened of him from that previous fight that she waited all the way up until he died to reveal herself again. He really was HIM
Except Himmel ISN'T "the Hero." He couldn't pull the sword.
Himmel was just THAT badass. When the real Hero comes (my money's on Stark...'cause, ya know...he completely soloed a fucking dragon, and was so powerful even Eisen was terrified of him...and he's nowhere near his peak yet), his mere existence is going to make demons piss themselves.

And when she finally said it i yelled "I F*CKING KNEW IT!!" 🤣🤣
they way the episode 10 is made is master art, the whole episode is a build up for the last moment and it end so perfectly with that "kill yourself".

Episode 10 is peak. Thats the reason why she loved the "useless" spells, on top there was a idiot loving it that she is collect these.

Actually down the line we have sorcerers imbuing cloaks and even hair with spells. So it would have been possible in this anime's world! His was a very good guess.

Was waiting for the freak-out when he heard “Aura, kill yourself”. Did not disappoint.
When I watched this episode for the first time, I was really proud of ma boi Stark
Note how Frieren has a peculiar habit, when killing demons, she makes sure they understand that they have lost before actually finishing them.
She could have blasted Qual as soon as she broke his seal, but she made sure he knew how obsolete and outmatched he was.
She could have killed Drat with her first attack, but instead she took both his arms and waited just long enough for him to panic before decapitating him.
She could have killed Aura with a spell, but she told her to kill herself both to humiliate her by killing her with her own magic, and also to make sure Aura had enough time to agonize over it.
There's 2 reasons for this IMO.
One is obviously her hatred for demons, the other is that because she spends her whole life hiding her power level, she's developed a desire to flex a little every once in a while.
And who better to flex on than the enemy who will die in the next minute as they will never be able to tell anyone, and it also serves Frieren's purpose of trampling their pride.
They skipped it in anime, but in source material it was explained that supressing Your mana is a nice practice, and Frieren has been doing that for 1000 years 💀

Yeah the trick was simple but the explanation of how it works is perfect. Also give credits to aura she was actually meticulous and cautious the problem is freiren is just better 😂

Worth keeping in mind is that Frieren keeps her mana supressed to about 10% of her maximum. Heiter said that this Elf at 10% (from his prespective) had about a fifth of his Mana capacity at about age twenty.
If my math is correct that means that this Twenty year old Human had half the mana capacity of the 1000 year old Elf.
Heiter is overlooked as the drunkard and support but the man has an insane amount of Mana.
That's just the amout of mana that she started with. Currently I'd imagine she supresses it maybe even more, as she has basically mastered it over 1000 years.

dont think that a mere 90 years made a huge difference/improvement on Frieren's mana suppression techniques...
So yeah, Heiter is actually a monster in terms of having a large mana pool for a human being.. and to think of it, he already has that much mana BEFORE they started their journey (when they were recruiting frieren)..
now imagine more how much mana Heiter has gotten in his prime.. That +10 years experience on the Journey would made a significant value for humans..
@skreyao4898 dude, Frieren started surpressing her mana to 10% when she started training with Flamme, she never stopped surpressing her mana and only got better at it. Do you mean Frieren wouldn't get better at it in the around 1000 years that she has been doing it?
After a few years of training, her suppressed mana is slightly bigger around her body and in the fight against Aura it looked almost the same size. Yet her mana has drastically increased in these 1000 years, so that can't be 10% of her max.
Not to discredit Heiter (everyone in the hero's party are op at their own right). However, The 10% rule was just what she started with in her training. The age of a mage is correlated to their mana capacity. It won't go up by itself, but it would only stop if the mage is slacking in that part.
As such, sooner or later, considering an elf that could live for almost eternity, her 10% would be far larger than a very high class mage. As such, that "10%" would vary depending on the average level of the mage at that time.
Frieren could even supress it enough that a normal mage wouldn't sense her mana (she' the one who taught fern after all).

It was MAYBE 0.1% by volume...probably a bit less, actually. Her suppressed mana barely covers her body. Her released mana is almost half a fucking football field. Her full mana is a few thousand times more than her suppressed mana. And it probably hasn't changed considerably in the last 90 or so years since she joined Himmel.
Heiter is still an absolute beast among human casters, just as Himmel and Eisen were destroyers among combatants, but his peak was 5 times that 0.1%...not 5 times the 10% you mistook it for. Heiter's mana was probably somewhere around Aura's amount, possibly a bit more.

The idea of preparing spells in advance is actually pretty clever, and would be an interesting concept.
Just imagine, an average low-level mage, carrying what basically amounts to an arsenal of magic wands, spell scrolls, and potions prepared in advance. That'd be pretty cool.

Sukuna VA aswell that demon vs fern also the scene of stark on the ground being smacked by eisen reminds me of zenitsu and his grandpa you can run you can hide but you should never give up get up and hone your 1 skill to the utmost limits and starks is getting up and enduring until that final lightning hit just like zenitsus thunderclap similarity

Frieren is a breath of fresh air from the generic over the top shonen. It really feels like you're going on a journey with them. And when it pops off it really pops off but yet the animation is cleaner, much more fluid without the over the top effects and just feels natural. Even the voice acting and character personality is natural. No annoying high pitch voices screaming every now and then and the attires are all just proper. No need for unnecessary fan service. I love this anime more than i expected
I think Linie and Lugner were some awesome characters. I know they were badguys but I really liked their characters, specifically Linie's.
Also I was so glad we got a backstory for Flamme and Frieren because I was asking for it when she was first mentioned lol and I was told by people that it might not be in this season.
Laughed so hard when Lugner literally explained the whole concealing mana thing to the audience and you were like "wait so the square root of the hypotenuse times the 54th prime number"..

This was a hard episode for me to watch lol. Frieren is always so kind so seeing her being so ruthless was tough. A badass episode though no doubt.
I love that the entire journey to kill the demon king after Frieren met the rest of the party didn't even get a *second* of screen time...

Frieren teach her not to show emotion and decieve demon to kill demon. since once we show emotion demon knows our weakness
She was also like that before Frieren started training her. She put everything into learning magic, it isn't necessarily that she was taught not to show emotion. She was just too focused on succeeding at being a mage before Heiter died that she couldn't have any real social skills, and Frieren doesn't really have any either, so Fern can't really get any better their with just Frieren.
