This was an awesome explanation of how to wire a thermostat. Honeywell was no help and my schematic for the compressor was like his in this video. Old thermostat had W2 and E terminals but the new WiFi Honeywell 9000 does not, it puts the E, Aux and W2 functions on the same terminal. So get all wired and have left over wire. Well after honeywell said the were too busy to take my call and call back. NICE. and looking on the internet, I found this. Great explanation of how the ODT works and how to wire for a 6 wire thermostat when you have 7 in play.
Single stage heat pumps don't have a black wire going to the thermostat, it's a blue wire; used for the common terminal and only if you have a thermostat that is hard wired instead of on batteries.
Hi, can you just wired the two "O" wires together and not put in on the air handler terminal block? The "O" terminal on the air handler control board doesn't do anything does it? Thanks
Hi Adrian, the color of the wire does not matter as long as it is connected to the correct terminals on all points in the wiring.

Good video! but why do I need to jump aux and e terminal at tstat?
So if i dont have E on my t stat can i just have a wire going from w2 on t stat then to the air handler then too w2 out on heat pump?
