This is a great guide! I wasn't able to form russia before muscovy did it first, so I added russia to the HRE instead and got to where you are by around 1640. Made many mistakes in my run but learned a lot and was still able to follow along even as an intermediate player. Looking forward to the next videos in this series!
The important point was upgrading the great project, and the level 3 upgrade stayed. I did notice the building did not stay, but still got what I wanted out of the bankruptcy.
I don't understand how you're able to do this without getting the 'Distant War' debuff from Poland when declaring on France, and the same with trying to get aid from Castille against Burgundy. My allies just do not have any reasons to join the war despite having favours and high Diplo Rep. Also the day after I finish my war against Burgundy, they rival me. Seems super difficult to replicate this kind of play.
Honestly, use favours to get ‘trust’. It’s broken af, it can stop your allies becoming rivals, guarantee you the burg inheritance and give you reasons to go to war and will just come and help. Better than ‘prepare for war’ in favours section. Use ‘curry favours’ and have high opinion with target
Same with the war against burgundy too. Castille wont join because its too far, and instead of allying to aragon they allied to venice who is a monster. Its 5 years into the game so no time to curry for trust or even really prep war

I do not understand anything, but looks amazing! Could you / somebody list our step-by-step guide or explanation whats going on? I do not understand how you can manage all these economy issue, AE, and the most of all to keep Italian nations in the HRE while spending so many time of your diplos to fabricating claims or else....
economy issue, loans are only a number. AE, as long you and your allies are stronger than your coalition, they will not DOW. If you overpower the coalition (spend money into all possible mercs to push your army to extrem), your coalition will even disband. His AE on italy wasn't so high, he did only take venice as italian province, rest of the time, he taken non italien culture province, so his AE was lower on them, rest is pushing relationship to +150 to finish the event. With +100 relation pushing, +50 alliance, +50 imperial bestow, it is normally doable. That's why he didn't pick milan PU, to much AE in italy, and makes the diplomatic way of shadow empire far to difficulty.
Interesting. I got almost identical results with a quite different approach. I allied Provence so that they would join as soon as they get threatened by France (within 10 years) I balkanized Bohemia instead of PU. And I also balkanized Ottomans and converted Beyliks to catholic and added to the empire. Didn’t do lvl 3 Prague. Did much less own vassals to keep AE down with the imerials, had to spam a lot of Expand Empires.
I do something like this too but I do it with Bohemia, I feel all these shenanigans are just too tedious, with bohemia you can do the same of this but with less problems thanks to 100% annexation cost of vassals and the Government reform to get PUs on absolutely everyone, I flip a couple times into some stuff like S&P, Netherlands for PU on England and Prussia for easy Gov efficiency and other stuff, end with being Russia and that's it, it's really easy and I do it in almost the same time as this one but is just way more relaxed, you can stay as a vassal swarm or just take it yourself, whatever float your boat

But my my question is.... what is the best sequence of tag switching in other countries to get the most benefits out of these? I want in my run high Admin Eff, CCR and also modifiers for culture conversion. I want to make an easy One Faith/One Culture run in iron mode... Germany was my first world conquest, so they are certainly super solid. Though if you want the strongest mods you’ll need to form into the Roman Empire(Rome has ccr and culture conversation) But you could just stay Germany for fun. Sequence wise I would say. Sardina piedmont -> prussia -> England -> Germany -> Rome would be fairly solid. And you would be fine to not go rome.

Man, I hate it when people say not to dev the gold mine up past 10 dip dev. That's true if what you want from it is consistent output throughout the whole game, but I really don't think that's a good use for gold. Dev it up to 15, and then use it as a shot in the arm to make your early game faster when money is most scarce and increasing it is most relevant such that you can higher better advisors and stuff.
@@Theplaymaker57 I mean when you're devving past 10, you're doing it with the expectation that it will collapse, but that the benefit you will have gotten from it in the time before that will have meaningfully helped to change your game. On an entirely unrelated note you bringing up depletion luck has unearthed a memory of mine where i invested all my dip to dev a gold mine to 10 in the hope of fixing my economy, and then it collapsed in the first month, while my friend was sitting on the other end of Europe, happily continuing to collect from his 20 dev gold mine.
Bankruptcy destroys all builidngs that have been built in the past 5 years, so using your money on buildings just to declare bankruptcy was just a waste.
fyi i dont know if you know but if u have built some buildings in teh last 5 years they get cancelled when u go bankrupt, but if 5 years have passed they wont get cancelled, just so u know if u going bankrupt, i havent finished watching the video, but wanted to put that out here... learned it from arumba and florry worry
I think if you want religious rebels to spawn but not convert the province tou can send missionaries there to convert but turn off their maintenance so they will stay there infinitely but tye rebels will spawn

I always lose my war with Burgundy because he is allied with Aragon and Naples, and Castile cant defeat Aragon and will be occupied by Aragon soon and leave the war. I dont know how to win this war due to my weak Castile ally
You being weak does not play a huge role in HRE voting when it comes to reform. You also have max Imperial Authority and crazy high diplo rep by this point.
@@Theplaymaker57 The last reform only requires a majority to pass and you inherit everything? I know that they changed the revoke reform so that you only vassalize princes that are willing to support the reform, whereas prior to 1.36 you only needed positive opinion to make them a vassal.

Any ideas why Ottomans capital doesn't return to Constantinople ? I've converted it, added to hre and then converted back with rebels, returned to ottos, took their new capital, but it;s new capital were in anatolia(lol)

Could you exlain please when and how you got Polland / Lithuania? I do not see in the video you did PU them, neither invited into HRE. Yet when you form the HRE they both are included into the empire
Is the burgundy war necessary in the long run as long as you get BI? I can't seem to get good RNG on them (They've rivaled me or allied castille or france) and I'd rather just go straight for france if I can't beat them.
Less than 200 development, good relationship, direct conection to HRE for there capital, and they will join. For bigger nations than 200 development, he showed us the capital trick.

i think he first conquers the capital of a nation. cores it, and adds it to hre. then he returns that province to nation he took it from. then he declares another war and takes their new capital which makes them change their capital back to their original capital, which is now in HRE and makes them a hre nation. not sure if this still works and why would you do that since you can fluidly expand your empire with proper cb.

Art of War is the one that gives you province transfering. I think you should get the tri-monthly subscription for 15 over 3 moths (1 month subscription is a ripoff now) and just have all of them

As of 1.37 you also have to release Picardie in your initial war with Burgundy, otherwise their capital stays outside the HRE.

If they didn't fixed, bankruptcy doesn't delete the buildings from trade companies

@oljiocal you can't get enough favours in that short a span of time at game start to boost trust to the point of them not rivalling you.
Trust and prepare for war are not enough to counter the 100 debuff Poland has from distant war. The question remains @@oljiocal

Because Mayan gives 20% ccr. its not important really, its just a fun thing you can do.

I am trying this and I cannot get GRB to get into the HRE though this method. Will try a third time tonight.

I would say its very impactful, but you can go without it. I'd say it will speed up your revoke 20+ years. but, that being said, you'll be fine

How does the whole Burgundy adds provinces to the HRE thing work?
The trick is to force it to move the capital to a province inside the empire, making them join automaticaly.
All you have to do is take their capital. Their new capital will be in the empire.
