    Bought two of these on the weekend after a good recommendation from a friend. It has been around 24 degrees with 78% humidity. Even within a few hours it made the house feel so much more comfortable. Brought it down to 55% within about 3 hours.
    Used the laundry mode as an experiment on a king sized duvet cover. It was absolutely excellent and dried it really quickly. This will be a life saver in the winter.
    Thoroughly recommend this product.

    Just got mine today and I'm so amazed how much water this has already pick up. Within 1 hour I had loads of water inside the tank. If you have a house with moisture or damp, I highly recommend. I've had a few dehumidifier and nothing compares to this.

    Bought this recently and must say it’s the best product I’ve ever purchased. It’s been difficult to get rid of the moisture in the house now during the winter, especially as we dry clothes indoors. I’ve bought multiple semi-cheap (50-90€) dehumidifiers from Amazon and they just couldn’t deliver what I needed. Decided to spend the 249€ for the 12L and my god the performance is just absolutely insane. I have thermometers in every single room to measure the humidity and I can say that this thing delivers to a tee. Living in a 2 story 2 bedroom townhouse. Get one, you won’t regret it.

    I bought two 20L ones for my slightly larger than average 3 bed house. I have one downstairs centrally in the house, and one upstairs. This brings the humidity down upstairs, and downstairs at the same rate, in about a day. Otherwise with only one downstairs it takes about 3 days for the humidity to drop upstairs as well. Bonus of having two, if one breaks down there's always a back up, and they should both last longer...

    I’ve just purchased one and it’s arrived! I’ve reached peak adulthood being excited for this😂 I’ve wanted a dehumidifier & air purifier for a while as I live in a flat of a town centre and I suffer every winter from chest colds/ infections as well as awful hayfever every summer and dust is endless! I said screw it and spent a bit on the MeacoDry Arete One as I’ve read so many good reviews. I like how it purifies and dehumidifies as well as other functions and it’s sleek looking with easy functions☺️ I’ve obviously got to give it time to see how it helps improve my home air so I really hope it helps my health too a bit!

    Wow! That looks so much better designed than mine!!
    I bought my 1st proper dehumidifier last year. Due to the stupid council's exterior insulation, that was put on in 2020, the humidity in my house, which used to be a perfect 45% all year round, goes up to ridiculous amounts in the summer! After a LOT of research I bought the Ecoair low energy one, but it's incredibly loud!! It's touch icons are on the side, so you have to bend down to see what you're doing, which due to disability/pain, hurts me every time! The icons are also small! 🙄 No handle on the water tub either, etc etc etc!
    I have two of the Meaco big fans, and they are one the best purchases I have EVER made!! We had two mini heatwaves, here in Scotland, and they absolutely saved my life! I've got bad M.E., and can't control my own body temperature.
    Question:
    I really need one just for my bedroom, and am thinking about the MeacoDry Arete One 10l
    Is it as quiet as this big one?
    Is there any difference in tech between this big one and the 10l?
    What is the difference between the 10l and the 12l, apart from tank size?
    Is the Hepa filter on the 10 or 12l optional? (I've already got two air purifiers in the house)
    It was actually running when you were talking wasn't it??
    That's incredibly quiet compared to my 12l Ecoair!!
    PS:
    could you please do a ideo on either the 10l or 12l MeacoDry Arete?
    Thanks

      Miss Moose, thank you for your kind comments, I can answer your questions as follows.
      I really need one just for my bedroom, and am thinking about the MeacoDry Arete One 10l
      Is it as quiet as this big one? - it is a lot quieter at 35dB
      Is there any difference in tech between this big one and the 10l? - just that the smaller 10L is physically smaller, all of the features remain the same.
      What is the difference between the 10l and the 12l, apart from tank size? - the 10 and 12L have the same size tank and the machines are physically the same. You just get 20% more water from the 12L.
      Is the Hepa filter on the 10 or 12l optional? (I've already got two air purifiers in the house) There is a free HEPA filter in the box, but you don't have to use it.
      It was actually running when you were talking wasn't it?? - Yes it was!
      Hope this helps.
      Chris

      @@chrismichaelmeacouklimited4004 I just received a MeacoDry Arete One 10l. The water tank on the received model does not have a handle like the black one featured in the video, but it dues have the side grips. I previously had a Meaco DD122FW-MK4 dehumidifier which is great and still working eleven years on, but have upgraded due to energy hikes. Wish I'd gone for the 12L but so far so good with the 10l.

      @@chrismichaelmeacouklimited4004 I just got an Arete One 12L, the instruction booklet, labelled "10L and 12L", clearly says the water tank has a carry handle - but as you say here, the units themselves do not. I don't agree at all that it is easy to empty without a handle - please do a video showing how you empty a full 10L or 12L water tank without it spilling everywhere - I can't manage to, even with the tank only half full, it spills. I just messaged customer service about this, in the hope that maybe there was a problem with my tank, and I'd be able to get a replacement, with a handle, but judging by your comments here, that's not going to be an option... Very disappointing. I think you need to reconsider the decision to dispense with a handle on the 10 and 12L models, or at least update the manuals for these units, so the blurb doesn't make claims about how useful the entirely fictitious water tank handle would be.

Day 4 and unfortunately its never going back on, so much noise and even in " night mode " I have to have ear plugs to have a decent night sleep.. Such a shame as the unit is really nicely designed. now looking for a full refund from where we originally purchased from :-(

    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    My 25L is doing an amazing job folks & my home is now dry and mould free. I've learned to understand how it works & why it does this or that. Now it has my home dry it mainly only comes on every 30 minutes to test the air. I use it regularly for Laundry and it usually dries it before the 6 hours so I simply press the smart humidity button to bring it out os Smart Laundry mode & the fan then reduces. I find hanging laundry higher up dries faster in a room with doors closed. When its' finished I then place it in the hall with doors open so it can maintain the whole apartment. It is larger than I needed but expect more leaks from above so I do have special circumstances. I'm getting the 25L for my son as his house is much larger & it's going to be busy for a while until it gets the dampness in the walls reduced.I am delighted so far. P.S. The fan was louder while it spent a few days getting my apartment dried out. In night mode it quietens but will keep working to reduce humidity if it's bad so give it time to get your home in shape.

      I’m thinking of getting the 25l one. I have a standard 3 bedrooms and thinking of putting it on the landing. However I have a conservatory downstairs (not heated overnight) so I think I need something downstairs as well. Does the 25 L do you’d whole house? Do you have it in one place or move it around ? It’s quite heavy ?

    • @FLOSSYTREADWELL
      @FLOSSYTREADWELL 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@helenalovelock1030 Hi Helena, In short I move mine if needed to use as a air purifier in a specific room. I have an apartment all on one floor and it does all rooms. I have birds so need to clean the filters and the back regular plus like to keep it tip top working. So brush vacuum the dust on the outside facing of the hepa filter so to pull dust back and not through the filter. Maintenance is important to keep it functioning at its best and keeping all windows clear. If weather turns quickly condensation will appear but the Meaco Arete soon catches up & rids it. I've used heating much less & the whole flat never has that cold areas I used to get.
      Your question... Yes I'd get the 25L I have 2 very large bedrooms . I got my son same 25L but his home has 3 floors and basement was very damp. He now dries all his washing down there with the Arete.. tip (it will dry washing on normal function but will take hours) So machine will be going much longer.. I use the 'laundry' option and it's dry in couple of hours. (Try to hang laundry higher than Arete but not over it. Close as possible though)
      It IS very heavy like pulling a box full of heavy glass bottles, especially if needs emptying. So unplug and empty before moving. The machine will stop completely after laundry mode so when you press 'on' it will start again in laundry mode.. simply press the dehumidifier button to switch out of laundry mode at any time.
      If you keep all doors open it will work longer to clear the whole house so you could either.. Have 2 machines to save keep alternating.. or.. one machine which will be on much longer.
      All situations are unique so nobody can tell you how yours will work for you in your home. I can tell you though that mine took a few days on all the time putting on night mode at night) the fan does go quieter but this is only noticed if it's working full force when you turn night mode on. So you may notice a youtube vid where she says the night button makes no difference... Well as I said, it does when working full fans as it will alter to just the one fan or less power? I'm unsure of what happens but it does change the functioning to quieter. If your Arete is getting full close to bedtime, you can turn off and empty it not have to wait until stops and red light is on.
      We empty the large water compartment every couple of days.
      After months we are still delighted with our warmer drier homes and less washing hanging around. I rarely use tumble drier, very rare.
      I do ramble so if I haven't answered properly please ask again or any other questions.
      Meaco are also very helpful and soon respond to questions placed on their website.
      This machine was a solid investment for me and as someone with a lot of damp and leaks from DIY enthusiast in apartment above.
      I'm still in love with my Arete :-)

      @@helenalovelock1030 You're very welcome. I've not had it that long juse a few colder months where condensation was terrible (up 3 inches high on bottom of bedroom windows) I will use the AP Air purifier alone in summer Helena. it'll keep the bird dander down. You can also get charcoal filter instead of the normal ones if there are smokers in your home. As you probably read the Air purifier can be used independently or its on automatically when the dehumidifier is on. So it will probably get some rest on and off throughout summer months. As soon as I see wet or mould or my little £12 Amazon humidity meter aka hygrometer, rises I'll be using it. Also for washing & cooking, the latter really raised moisture in your home and when I cook for a while the meter goes up. You can also switch your machine on to check levels if you have no meter. I find my amazon hygrometer matches the Arete reading - if it changes I know the hygrometer needs recalibrating. I got both ours (mine and my son's) from John Lewis. They also have a great deal of info for the machine after purchase & troubleshooter. Ignore part where it says wheels come inside the water changer.. I believe that's old info on John Lewis as theyr'e now already fixed on these 25L. Its free delivery and the customer care is great too. As long as you receive a brand new machine. I went through any negative comments and found it was generally from posters who had not understood the machine. If the fan sounds louder altering position slightly can alleviate that. It is louder when fully working hard to absorb the moisture.
      the enclosed instruction are limited for people like me who need everything spelling out. So if you have any issues and want fast answer & I can help with that. But please contact Meaco for a professional answer. Thing is not to sit and worry that something is wrong - get help. As you use it and become accustomed it will all make sense :-) These are made for british weather & though you may read that the Dessicant type is better for colder wet rooms. I would say that for an unheated outside garage in canada, perhaps yes but the Arete is fine for cooler wet rooms and basements in UK :-)

    Hi. Great video, I've just purchased the Arete 25L and this was a helpful walk through of the features. I did have one question though. Many dehumidifiers suggest leaving 20-30cm minimum distance between the machine and any walls for airflow, but I've noticed the Arete seems to be OK to go much closer to the wall. Is there a reason why the Arete can go near a wall where other units cannot? Thanks for your help.

      If you decide to switch off and on manually, the humidity levels may increase to higher than what you'd like it to be.
      Alternatively you can use the smart humidity option, whereby the dehumidifier will not be running constantly, as every 30 minutes the fan will run and check the humidity level, the
      dehumidifying indicator will turn off. If the humidity level has increased more than 3% above the target, the compressor will turn on and the dehumidifier will start to run again - the dehumidifying indicator will be solid. If the humidity level is within 3% of the target, the dehumidifier will go back to sleep and check the humidity level in another 30 minutes.
      Hope that helps, please also give us a call for further explanation.

    Just received mine two days ago, it is taking a lot of water out of the air, about two litres every 8hrs, very impressed with it. I have an end terrace old stone house, exterior walls feel damp in a few places and it has mold in a few places. I live alone, the place has two upstairs rooms ( one empty, one my bedroom) a lounge downstairs, kitchen and toilet. It's not a big place and really suits one person, maybe two. Is the 12l Arete One the right model for this place ? also is it safe to leave it one 24/7, the fan speed will be high because the original humidity was 76/80%

    • @MeacoUK-Omar
      @MeacoUK-Omar 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello,
      Thanks for your recent purchase.
      Yes the 12L is suitable for your home size, it's best to leave the unit on 24/7, after you set your target it will look to achieve this, once it has, it will switch off for 30 minutes and recheck.
      Every 30 minutes it will check, it is designed to be on all the time in order to keep control.
      To begin with it will be required to use the higher fan speed and run for longer periods working to balance your home, once it has, you will notice a reduction in the water collection and time it remains on.
      Hope that helps.

      There is a label on the handle saying that the castor are in the tank. The smaller 10L model does not have a handle on the tank because there is no room for one and it is much lighter. We have not included running costs because in Britain electricity costs vary every six months.

    I own the Meaco 25L Arete One dehumidifier. I was wondering, what's the best way to tell if the HEPA filter needs replacing, just to examine it - are there any particular signs that I should look for, or just if it's very unclean? • @MeacoUK

      The dehumidifier will not dry the space out too much because that is not how the technology works and the humidistat will prevent over drying. You can put the dehumidifier in one central location and leave the internal doors open and the dry air will come to the dehumidifier. Use a 12L if you live on your own, a 20L if there are two of you with lots of washing to dry and a 25L if there are more of you with washing or poor extraction in the bathroom/kitchen.

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your email, the Arete design gives it a lot of advantages over any other 12L, including our own ABC 12L.
      With Arete;
      • The control panel is easier to use, the most often used buttons are larger and the least used buttons are smaller
      • There is no defrost light or fan speed button, the machine looks after these things.
      • Arete has a full night mode.
      • Arete can be pushed right up against the wall
      • Arete allows you to access the filter without turning it around.
      • Arete has the water tank at the front, so it is easier to access.
      • Because the water tank is at the front you can see how much water is in the tank.
      • The tank is easier to remove on Arete.
      • The water can be poured to either right or left.
      • If you want to use continuous drainage then on Arete this can be done using a garden hose.
      • Arete has a cable tidy
      • Arete extracts more water using marginally less energy.
      • Arete comes with castors.
      • Arete has a H13 HEPA filter.
      • Arete is a tiny bit quieter.
      Arete is the newest design, this is why it is better in all areas, but you must remember that we sell around 30,000 of the ABC 12L machine each year and they are a much loved machine.

Ok it's better than nothing but on Meaco website it says "20 °C and 60 % RH = 10.73 liters per day" Mine is 19 C and 68 % RH = 5 liters per day.

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This will all be down to the level of moisture content in the air and the air volume. The important thing here is how it dries out your space and the speed of reducing the relative humidity. How fast this happens is a balance between the size of the apartment, the amount of moisture your own behaviour puts into the air each day and the amount of moisture the organic material in the apartment is holding onto and then releasing each day. You will find that across a month or so the relative humidity will be where you want it to be.

I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying extra for the 25L with the extra 51W power consumption, or if the 20L is more cost and energy efficient to run.
    Also I read in another comment on here that the Arete 2 will be coming soon. Is there any update on this as I can't find anything about it on your website. Thanks.

      They are identical on the outside but the 25L has a larger fan motor and compressor which results in a lower cost per litre of water collected.
      Arete Two is due in January.

    Hi there please help. I have a 3 bedroom house and thinking about gettting the 25l Aerate One and putting it on the landing. My question is I also have a conservatory at the other end of the house (not heated at night) . Do I need another one for downstairs in the Kitchen /conservatory? Worried about energy costs of having 2 dehumidifiers running. Also if it gets too cold in the conservatory/kitchen

    • @chrismichaelmeacouklimited4004
      @chrismichaelmeacouklimited4004 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with this application is that there will be no airflow between the conservatory and the rest of the house. So the Arete on the landing cannot serve the conservatory. You will therefore need a second unit. Most conservatories go cold overnight, so you would need a Meaco DD8L Junior in that space (for when it is below 10°C).

    Would I need a 2nd for upstairs if I'm using the 12L model? Recently moved into a house (670 square feet) that is extremely warm, has a bit of a musky smell and high enough humidity that I've spotted foxing on a few books. I just bought the 12L model and I love it, but I'm not sure it'll be enough to do the whole house, or if I'll need a 2nd for upstairs? Opted for the 12 with a possibility of needing a 2nd rather than the 20 based solely on weight and being able to lift it between rooms. Currently using primarily in the living room due to that room having the highest humidity, but plan to keep it in the hall with all interior doors open once the living room gets to a better equilibrium but not sure if that will help the whole house?

    • @MeacoUK
      @MeacoUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your purchase. The easy answer is to just say yes, buy a second machine. But if we are being host it is not that simple. Factors will include how much moisture is being retained in the fabric of the house and the organic material in the house. The amount of new moisture being added to the air each day by the number of people living in the house, poor extraction in the kitchen and bathroom and whether washing is being dried indoors, especially in the winter months. The best idea is to keep on doing what you are doing and decide after a few months. Will be interesting to hear from you in October to see how you are getting on (as the seasons change).

      @@pspr33 ended up buying the 2nd for upstairs and thankful I did as I always manage to find a use for them in one room or another. The downstairs one is on almost all of the time (set to 50%) and has, until the last couple of weeks, been only getting to about 56 by the end of the night but is now gradually getting to 52-53 with the season change. Upstairs one is set to 45 and only takes around an hour (depending on temperature can take up to 3 if it's really cold) to get to 42 before shutting off for a bit as is meant to happen. Interestingly, we've had no more problems at all downstairs but have had a recurrence upstairs which I'm at a bit of a loss with given that upstairs has been well controlled. I think needing two was more to do with the upstairs rooms being well sealed, whereas downstairs is much more influenced by outside and so mustn't be as well sealed (tried both downstairs on day, barely made a difference, dropped by just a few points)

      The smaller units do not have a carrier handle as the width in the bucket doesn't permit for much space and is light to carry when full.
      Our larger AreteOne models do have a handle, having a larger water tank, more space for the handle plus a almost twice as heavy as the smaller unit.

      Thank you for your purchase.
      When you first get the machine, please note there is excess moisture and it is best to allow time for the unit to work.
      To begin with, the machine will be running for longer periods, naturally, unless you already had a dehumidifier in place.
      Check your target, we advise set it to 55%rh.
      Windows closed as you are.
      Allow time for the unit to work.
      If you are concerned there could be an issue with the unit, try leaving it just outside the bathroom after a shower, let it run for a couple of hours and check if water has been collected, if so, good news, it's working.
