  • 3 ingredient homemade grain free dog treats will be a big hit with your spoiled K9!
    1/2 C sugar free peanut butter
    1/2 C pumpkin or cooked sweet potato
    1 1/2 C chickpea flour or brown rice flour
    mix together to form a dough, if the dough is too stiff add a few drops of water to loosen it up. Roll out like sugar cookie dough and use cookie cutter or a pizza cutter. Lay on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake 350° for 15 minutes until browned around the edges. I like to roll mine nice and thin, so the dogs treats are crispy when baked.
    Store in an airtight container.

    To save even more time you couldda rolled the dough out on the parchment paper on your baking tin and then cut with the pizza cutter 😊

    I have been making our own dog treats for a while. They love it and I know their healthy. ❤ I also cook for our dogs and they get rolled oats with fruits (cooked) for breakfast and cooked dinners in the evening. We saw and keep seeing an amazing difference in so many ways. Less water consumption, shine fur/coat and way less shedding and no bad breath. Super healthy and our vet is very very happy ❤

    No xylitol peanut butter should be mentioned also.

    2:27 I always want to use brown rice , but found out I was defeating the purpose. Rice or I'll bet rice flour is a grain. I was using brown rice in homemade dogfood, till it was pointed out to me that rice, is a grain. Here I was thinking healthier, but I got one itchy girl here, and every little bit matters

    and I have an air fryer setting on my toaster oven and wonder if that would dry out the cookies even better. I live in Florida. No matter how 'ready' I think the cookies are they still go moldy if I don't keep them in the freezer.

      i think that would work well! Great idea.

      If you put them in the fridge, they WILL go soft. I just put them back in the oven at a lower temperature until they harden up, or keep them in the freezer. My dog loves frozen treats year round, but in FL, I would imagine your pup will like cold treats when it's hot out, too.

    What do you recommend to put in recipe to have a long shelf life? I want to start dog treat recipe and decorated ones.

      @InTheKitchenWithDinah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure what to recommend for a longer shelf life, I try to not add preservatives. But I think that they will last for a couple months on their own without any additives.

    Hi! Would these work well iced?

    • @InTheKitchenWithDinah
      @InTheKitchenWithDinah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, These work well kept in the freezer- or do you mean iced as in decorated? Yes, these would work well. Make sure you bake them long enough so they are crispy.

    What can you use instead of chickpea flour?

    • @InTheKitchenWithDinah
      @InTheKitchenWithDinah  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use any kind of flour that your dog will tolerate. I chose chickpea so they were grain free.

      cooked sweet potato or cooked squash would be a good substitute.

    Making dog treats or food, isn't really for the dogs till it hits their bowl, so actually sampling is kinda part of the experiment sometimes

  • @nopigeon

    thanks for eliminating the fuss of a 'cartoon bone' shaped cookie cutter. The dogs don't care.

    The super negative thing with store bought treats is all the junk put into it such as preservatives, salt, things I have to look up in a dictionary... I call it "conveyor belt nutrition." Something like saying... "With love, from our factory to your dog." Sickening way to treat a beloved dog.
