thats actually how it works in this universe though, at least if you manage to reach HIS kind of height. you grow more when you get more magical power, which seems to be all it takes to become a leader considering twilight has been considered a princess years before she had any legal authority over anyone or any country
I always loved the fact that some people said"Chrysalis isn't bad, she's just misunderstood", but this episode proves the fact that she is actually a villain with a huge ego, because if she accepted the change, not only her hive wouldn't have to hunt anymore and suffer from hunger, but she would still be their queen.I understand that the writers probably didn't want to redeem her just to change things and use her in the next seasons, but they could've done that either with the Pony of Shadows or a new villain.
In a sawtooth video, they explain what chrysalis's POV was in this quite well. Imagine your a leader of a capitalist nation, and you have one rebellious child who abandons you. And in 5 years, he comes back with 3 other people who support him and get your entire nation to betray you, and your nation now goes under a new management, completely different from your capitalist management, that you have believed to be the best in most regards if not all, and you’ve been practically replaced, only to be offered a 'leadership' role, but they have already stated you’ve been replaced. You’d feel like that role wouldn’t be the same you once had. You think capitalism is the best for your nation, even if they seem happier under the new management. And even if you accepted that they are happier, you would still have resentment for your rebellious child. Plus, she’s the mother of all her subjects. There’s some motherly love added to all of that too. I think she has the full right to want revenge.
After this, Thorax became one of my favorite characters. The changeling society basically turned from hunters to farmers in an instant, and as the only one with experience on how to produce your own love he naturally had to become their leader. And even though he obviously wasn't comfortable with his position, the meek and friendly king is exactly what the new changelings need, as interpersonal grudges would mean less food for them.
I love both the old and reformed Changeling designs, especially the more pastel greens, turquoises, and oranges. I have no idea why Thorax doesn’t speak once transformed at the end of the episode, but his voice combined with his new appearance in the Season 7 premiere is absolutely adorkable! As for Chrysalis not reforming, I’d like to think the reason she didn’t is because she is a Queen Bee and it’s her way or the highway! So when Starlight came in and tried to tell her how a leader should act, she wasn’t having it!
The most confusing food for thought was how Thorax suddenly became the leader of the changelings because he refused to feed on the love of random ponies and since he didn't immediately flip out after Queen Chrysalis performed her epic backflip.
@@Fallowsthorn Yeah he's physically different in size and antlers so it's safe to say that's how their species works just like queen bees/ants being different to the others.

To be fair, Chrysalis's rule and the loyalty she accumulated amongst her subjects was based around the belief that only she could find and secure large enough scores of love to sustain the hive. The Changlings were subservient to Chrysalis because they thought their survival depended on it, but once Thorax and Starlight showed them that they can make love for themselves, Chrysalis pretty much lost the only thing that made her the Queen in the first place, prompting the Changlings to abandon her for a life where they aren't constantly starving.

Discord, mad enough to scream but not mad enough to simply snap his fingers and summon yaks. Too desperate to find the real fluttershy to be able to tell which one's real but not desperate enough to ask them a question. God of chaos, everyone
3:18 I think starlight and discord were in on the plan, they just backed away and said the code word because trixie and thorax were running around and a different changeling might've caught onto it so they had to make sure
@@theAstarrr I agree that the season 9 would not have been the same. Still, even though they do not get the bell, they can use the artifact Discord brings at the opening of season 9 episode 24.
Funny I just had a dream about Discord. The Mane Six left him in charge of all their pets. He then made himself and the pets supersized and superstrong but then saw himself in the mirror and stopped joking around
There are so many ways Discord could have gotten around the anti-magic throne. It seems the throne doesn't have a "power level" of its own, and instead just serves as an off switch for all other magical types besides Changeling magic. Were it not for the innocents contained within, he could simply throw a giant rock at the hive and crush it, or simply pick up the ground under the hive and use it like a spoon to carry the anti-magic throne. He could then just toss that into space or just far enough to smash it. Of course, your solution of bringing in the armed forces en masse would be perfect since Discord can't just break the whole hive on account of the innocents inside. It is very frustrating how the show often treated Discord - they created a character with hacks abilities so overpowered that he can simply remove his opponents from reality itself, or just disarm them instantly. We know he can just remove horns from ponies at will, so none of them stand a chance against him if he doesn't act stupidly for the sake of plot convenience. If you want to deal with the fact you have a super powerful character like Discord in your show, just do the One Punch Man approach of building tension on a sort of countdown timer - have it so that Discord is absent for whatever reason, and the tension comes from whether the rest of the characters can survive long enough for him to arrive and fix everything. There are ways to deal with an omnipotent character besides arbitrary plot conveniences. I'm looking at you, Tirek. We all know that Discord would just snap Tirek's mouth and horns away if they hadn't decided to do the whole "discord was distracted and so was caught off guard and drained" excuse. Discord would destroy even full power Tirek in an actual fight, all because of just how ridiculously overpowered hacks abilities are. The way they handled it, much like in this episode, was lazy writing just for the sake of the "new big bad" to have time to shine. The show being "for kids" is not an excuse for these continuous sins against Discord, because the show has many other instances of excellent writing outside of this. They set a bar and failed to meet it as far as dealing with Discord's "superman problem" is concerned. Don't even get me started on how the G5 comics are treating him...
4:00 He did? I don't remember that, i remember Thorax saying that he and Sunburst discovered the truth and Thorax was sent to ponyville to get Twillight help, not that Sunburst planned to do something against the impostors. And so far, only Cadance impostor was discovered. 4:32 I said it before and i said it again, the changelings switched their allegiance so easily it make it almost meaningless.
Last time when Starlight kills Chrysalis, she even wanted wings to become a princess, but then she's not granted to become one as both Celestia & Twilight were jaw dropped. As for the laser sound? I would use the Obelisk of Light instead.
I adored this episode when I was younger, it was entertaining and refreshing as it followed a new cast of characters and the dynamics were funny but lets be honest, Discord is the best character in MLP
Can't believe it was since October of 2020 that Season 5 finished... and now at the end of 2022 did we reach the end of Season 6. At this rate, we're going to be well into 2030 before Littleshy if I am your gets around to Season 9.
That last blooper with FIM being brought down a season because Starlight blew up Chrysalis is false Chrysalis wasn’t the only villain Discord(disguised as Grogar) recruited
Fair enough, but my thinking is that the power of the villain's "friendship" is what made them strong. If it were only Cozy and Tirek, the dynamic wouldn't have been quite as powerful.
Writer#1: "Let's bring back Thorax and make him important, instead of so many other characters." Writer#2: "Okay, but let's give a short lived redesign to make him identifiable and then make him and the other changelings colorful." Unless their plan was to bring the changelings to the good side this whole time.

I haven't watched the show or been around the fandom in general since season 5 ended, but it's really cool that you are still going all this time! To give a sense of scale for how long it has been: I'm currently in my third year of college working as a speech language pathologist. Here's to your hard work 💪
5:54 Haha, I have a feeling that was based on my comic. Or that one animation based on my comic which was once an honorable mention in one of your Top 10 Pony Videos lists.
In my school vr game a major friendship problem happened where you see goalius was not happy to ryuko maktoi due to well reasons when her mistake got revealed things ended up with equestrian magic at play and the most memorable kill I have ever seen ( turns out when the shyden orga custom arrived so did iok kujan reginlaze and then the strike noir and it was revealed to be changeling magic when it was revealed to be a garim rodi hired for assaination) and then well the problem ended with a 5 hours later by discord and then sau mobile suits showed up with a brutally mauled and damaged goalius ( the game voice actor for sunny starscout thought that he was getting trampled by yakes mufasa style but not it was tekkadan offscrean fighting goalius)
I loved part 2 of "To Where And Back Again" it was very interesting to see what the Changeling kingdom was like for the very first time though i couldn't believe it when our quartet of heroes were captured and Starlight and Thorax were the only one's left and the part where they were all in cocoons and Chrysalis did that thing with her head was pretty creepy. But at least they defeated Chrysalis and everything worked out, hell i even adored the Changelings new forms they looked awesome! in fact i can still remember a lot of people myself included wishing that Chrysalis would've also reformed because it would've been interesting just to see what she would've looked liked she probably would've looked beautiful, but it's a good thing that Chrysalis didn't change both because the last thing the show needed was another reformed villain arc and because at this point in the series Chrysalis was one of the only few good villains that the show had left. Anyway i give part 2 9/10!

I'll admit, that confused me at first too. But in fact, there was no teleportation involved. Trixie would hide, and Thorax would pretend to "appear" elsewhere.

Cheese Legs proved how she's simultaneously a tactical genius AND a complete and utter idiot. Moving the sun and moon, at this point in the series, is literally only something Celestia and Luna can do... and she took BOTH of them completely out of the equation. With no one able to move the sun and moon, the day/night cycle would be absolutely obliterated. Im surprised you didnt sin the fact chrysalis didnt bother to replace starlight dispite the fact that her magical abilities is on par if not more powerful than twilight's, she traveled back in time!
11 To be fair "Loud dum dum" kind of does sum up Discord. 38 yeaaaaah... the only defense I have for that bit of idiocy is it was apparently some executive and not the actual show staff's fault. The original draft had her teleport away but some idiot higher up the chain told them no for some dumb reason. Also, of course Thorax is the leader. Nearly every nation is a tallocracy, rule by the tallest is simply natural. Though is it going by Irkan standards where being tall puts you in charge, or Ork rules where being in charges makes you larger? Going by Twilight I'm guessing the latter.

Discord, mad enough to scream but not mad enough to simply snap his fingers and summon yaks. Too desperate to find the real fluttershy to be able to tell which one's real but not desperate enough to ask them a question. God of chaos, everyone
"..and then Chrysalis did a back flip, snapped the good guy's neck and ruined the day!"
3:18 I think starlight and discord were in on the plan, they just backed away and said the code word because trixie and thorax were running around and a different changeling might've caught onto it so they had to make sure
5:57 there are still more villains to replace her in season 9, so no, a final defeat for her in season 6 does not cancel season 9.
@@theAstarrr I agree that the season 9 would not have been the same.
Still, even though they do not get the bell, they can use the artifact Discord brings at the opening of season 9 episode 24.
congratulations on making it through season 6! here's to six and a half years as you plow through seasons 7, 8, and 9
1:20 missed opportunity for a “that’s racist” sin seeing as discord is a draconequus and they made the code word after he fell
"Trixie is a little too eager to needlessly sacrifice herself" I see a pattern
1:42 Oh hey, look, it's Kevin!
KEVINS BACK
KEVIN WE LOVE YOU KEVIN - Random Guys from SpongeBob I’m your biggest fanatic)
"Sounds of Discord's nightmares."
And perhaps the nightmares of those who adore Fluttershy. ...also, Changelings were d**ks.
I feel so lucky that you still make these after all these years
Funny I just had a dream about Discord.
Yes, I really dislike how they had to make Discord useless in episodes like this.
A chance they can all be Fluttershies! (yes! 💛)
Fluttershy clones: *sh*t sobbing*
Littleshy FiM: [Sounds of Discord's nightmares]
4:32 my computer froze and kept repeating tatorship over and over and over.
5:54, dude there is no magic still, nothing indicated that that has changed and that they have gotten rid of the defenses of the hive.
Of course Thorax is the leader. He's twice the size of other changelings. If he had a mane, it would be flowing.
Discord: "i was beside myself, but it was just one of you"
glad to see you're still creating these after almost ten years :0
might have to binge them all
Can't believe it was since October of 2020 that Season 5 finished... and now at the end of 2022 did we reach the end of Season 6.
At this rate, we're going to be well into 2030 before Littleshy if I am your gets around to Season 9.
That last blooper with FIM being brought down a season because Starlight blew up Chrysalis is false
Chrysalis wasn’t the only villain Discord(disguised as Grogar) recruited
Fair enough, but my thinking is that the power of the villain's "friendship" is what made them strong. If it were only Cozy and Tirek, the dynamic wouldn't have been quite as powerful.
@@LittleshyFiM
Fiendship is a good word describing the relationship between the three villains in S9
didn't think i would live to see another season be completed. Time flies.
Writer#1: "Let's bring back Thorax and make him important, instead of so many other characters."
Writer#2: "Okay, but let's give a short lived redesign to make him identifiable and then make him and the other changelings colorful."
Unless their plan was to bring the changelings to the good side this whole time.
Let's be honest.. The writers always need some excuse for Discord not to use his powers. Otherwise, these 40 minute episodes would be just 5 minutes
I remember watching this "everything wrong with mlp" series in middle school... wow. I haven't watched the show or been around the fandom in general since season 5 ended, but it's really cool that you are still going all this time! To give a sense of scale for how long it has been: I'm currently in my third year of college working as a speech language pathologist. Here's to your hard work 💪
i always love watching these, they're so well-done
5:36 that line is the most quoted in fim
This episode is one of my favorites. This episode also made me wish someone made like a fan game of a Final Fantasy style MLP game.
always look forward to these!! highlight of the month for me lol
5:54 Haha, I have a feeling that was based on my comic.
Or that one animation based on my comic which was once an honorable mention in one of your Top 10 Pony Videos lists.
Ah, the return of psychological warfare. My favorite!
2:00 maybe Starlight and Discord figured it could have been another changeling in disguise
2:38 maybe they kept the amp in the discord backpack
Oh boy oh boy, new year, new Season! Only six and a half more years until we've sinned the whole series!
3:55 lmaoo beLoVeD FiGuReS
4:57
Luna's hair crashed?
Simple template
3:10 how dare you! That man was a hero! And besides how else was he supposed to destroy a spaceship?
The Cheese meme got me
I fr think your videos are only videos i watch and actually laugh like put loud even when im watching alone at home
the "8 seasons" bit at the end was my favorite part!!
The subtitles for the Fluttershy crying read [Sounds of Discord's nightmares]
I'm dead
I'm super impressed at how long you've been doing this for
I’m watching all of your old videos lol. And well done on 200k!
I just can’t wait for the new videos on S07, especially S07E14😗Thank you so much for the great videos I like your way of commenting, so sharp and funny. Also it sounds silly but English isn’t my first language and I love the subtitles because I can learn to how to talk about opinions like a native speaker.
lol, then Starlight could teach "How to Finish Your Enemies. Once and For All." at the friendship school.
Starlight becoming the changelings new queen? That would've been cool to see.
Happy 200k Littleshy!
Finishing te year with a season finale!
glad i got to go home from school today so i could watch this early! i really liked this episode
They really did have to write literally EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THE SHOW AS AN ABSOLUTE MORON to make this episode “work”.
5:12 Does Princess Luna's mane count as a sin here?
Also, if nothing other than Changeling magic works in the hive because of the throne then how did Trixie use her smoke balls to teleport?
Caves and thorax impersonation
I'll admit, that confused me at first too. But in fact, there was no teleportation involved. Trixie would hide, and Thorax would pretend to "appear" elsewhere.
@@LittleshyFiM oh….Also I don’t think changelings have the power to teleport right?
@@LittleshyFiM and smoke bombs don't need magic or anything else. They are just a bit of flash paper, some gunpowder, and a little potassium perchlorate stabilized with aluminum for white smoke, magnesium for yellow smoke or cobalt for blue smoke.
However this opens up the wormhole of, does the pony world have gunpowder, and if so, then do they have guns? fireworks exist so, what about rockets? Canons exist, so does that mean riles and/or muskets exist?
@@obiesunstreak2409 Guns have to exist, because in the Last Roundup Rainbow says “it’s time to call in the big guns” and in May the Best Pet Win She also says “I need something fast like a bullet to keep up with me” and where would those terms originate from in the first place if guns didn’t exist
3:48 or Horsesh-uicide Squad😂
Keep up the good work
god bless the notifications, it's time to watch cinemare sins and the secondary characters adventure
i love seeing these come up on my feed !
2:47 It may be racist, but one Changeling sure doesn't think it is. Either that, or he can actually take a joke.
I never noticed that one changeling laughing 🤣
Cheese Legs proved how she's simultaneously a tactical genius AND a complete and utter idiot.
Moving the sun and moon, at this point in the series, is literally only something Celestia and Luna can do... and she took BOTH of them completely out of the equation.
With no one able to move the sun and moon, the day/night cycle would be absolutely obliterated.
Her rule over Equestria wouldn't be the generations worth Cheese Legs thinks it would be, because literally everything on the planet would be dead, possibly within weeks, due to day and night being no more
I’m still glad chrysalisis never got redeeemed😅
3.8.23
The way starlight could've destroyed chrysalis so easily 💀
Im surprised you didnt sin the fact chrysalis didnt bother to replace starlight dispite the fact that her magical abilities is on par if not more powerful than twilight's, she traveled back in time!
1:38 not like anyone WANTED to get along with them
I love you for your commitment to this series
[Sounds of Discord's nightmare]
the perfect way to start off an episode: *sigh*, twilight sparkle
That wasn't a sigh, it was an inhale before delivering a terrible punchline more then two years in the making 😂
@@LittleshyFiM it was kind of funny though
Starlight should’ve gotten her wings when she showed the changelings what they should be doing in this episode ngl
I loved this episode.
If Littleshy keeps making Cinemare sins at the rate of one per month, he will be done with the whole series by May 2028.
