I want to thank you for putting up this video. I'm a mom with a full time job who used to play source games a ton and love ARGs but i don't have the time to do this myself. Thank you again!
The soundscapes in gravel pit are normal and expected, they'd be there in the original map. They tell the game what ambient background sounds play in that location.
Hey so for 43 it turns out the demo cuts out prematurely- this is due to- if I remember correctly- some kind of file fuckery where there is some text that has to be removed. The voice chat is actually playing that spooky half life ambience, which the name eludes me at the moment but it's the infamous one that sounds like trumpets. I think there are two other files like that in the TF2 clips- one of which doesn't really get extended much further after editing.
@@Lucas_Lopes2408sadly, the video I got that info from is hidden deep in my watch history but I know that that it was likely revealed how to do this in the Discord server (which I'm also sadly not a part of). I'm more a casual consumer of the mystery than an active participant, sorry! Wish I could help more though- people like you do important work by catching people like me up to speed!
Cara achei seu vídeo muito foda, não vi nenhum br testando essas demos do arg interloper , acho muito interessante ver essas demos em prática já que deve dar um certo trabalho de fazer elas funcionarem no jogo.
@wawawitha4 remember that there were two videos with crashers on eida's channel the first one from "weird crash on tf2" flew excatly like in the one in data52 while the crasher in "it's inside my computer" goes directly for the player
Data43's audio is actually cut off because of a comment put in it's files, similarly to the one that says mapgen learned to type. If you remove the comment the full demo plays and it's distorted trumpets accompanied by what sounds like banging on a door near the end. The demo with the two Pyros also has a comment which causes it to end early which when removed, show what looks like a discussion between Eida and Jman.
If i remember correctly, there's a specific type of entity which can control the client's console, for example, writing stuff in the chat, changing maps, quitting the game, anything in reach. including turning on cheats.
just a few things i think you might have missed. the textureless skybox floor map, did you try click the displacement and seeing what is the name of the texture that is being used? did you also try destroying said displacement to see if there is any other texture being used? on the heavy donut map the Torus shape is one of the few most complex shapes that hammer editor can make, having that in mind it often can cause float point errors in compilation times due to it being possible to make extremely high decimal values for each vertice of the Torus, which hammer editor does not like, but if this Entity was able to make that, and more so, make it at an ANGLE, it means that it clearly understands the concepts of the engine it is in
I will probably cover those stuff in the third video because the second one is done. Since i dont know how the Source Engine works ima try to do research about it. (Edit:I will do it in another, some of them got too long)
I have a theory that type 6 demos are from the perspective of an umbrella man. One of my more convincing pieces of evidence is that in multiple type 6 demos we watch the player no clip around the place and delete NPCs. another way these could be umbrella men is that its just them surveying the area for any anomalies, like missing texture blocks or dynamic npcs.
It might be interesting to convert data27's map to other source games and see if it becomes more coherent. TF2 shares some texture names with half life 2 and presumably other games as well, as some names are pretty generic (e.g. 'glass', 'wood').
This could be a bit of a iconoclastic theory, But perhaps the Demos where the player is zipping around and deleting Process & NPC might be from the perspective/POV of an umbrella-man or similar "Deletion" type entity?
10:31 those are just soundscapes, they are callin in sounds that would play outside and inside... idk why ya called em files, how much expirance do ya have in the hammer editor
Well i guess i have to explainh this now. So in January i binge watched every Analog Horror on my Tv and when i decided to watch Digital Horrors i thought "Wouldn't it be cool if i modified the way my computer looks while watching them" so i did that, and since im doing Interloper stuff i guess it will be like this for a while Lmao
If we see the people tping around the map deleting everything while instalocking onto stuff they deleted… what does that imply with the heavy one? It seems as if it was trying to delete it, but failing. Seems weird…
Those text messages on data86 are not that scary: this is basically trigger and a few other entities that are making those messages. It's all because you came to the place when heavy appeared, where this trigger is located. It was made on purpose

I thought it sounded more like one of the robot's voices from MVM.
Now that I heard it again through another video, I can hear the distorted trumpets more clearly, even if it's for a split second.

So the demos with the character using noclip and deleting everything is a crasher's POV?
The soundscapes saying "Outisde" And "Inside" Don't matter. They're just refering to the soundscape file to play.
