The similarities in the movie/book for my leaving year are uncanny. I lost my Aunty in a car smash that year. I had to learn to walk again as I prepared for my leaving exams in 1999. We studied the book for English that year. I aced every assessment I wrote about this book. My aunty was my John Barton … my best friend and I listened to this song in my hospital bed a lot over the 3 months recovering/rehabilitating. Thank you so much @IMY2 for covering this song …. you aced it (as always) and it pulled at my heart strings all over again. It means the world to me to hear it again and sung so well Annalise.

I'm a perfectionist when it comes to judging cover songs, I give it a B+ Her voice sounds like another artist who for the life of me I can't think of who? When she sings ",Through the storm we reached the shore, you gave it all but I want more" That part is another artists voice. I'll think of it later. Both the guitar and base work are pretty darn good.
Utterly magical. I'm an old-school long-term U2 fan and I remember this from back in the day. This song is a musical masterpiece in its ethereal melodies combined with that thrumming driving yet subtle bass line and the sheer exquisite twanging guitar sound Edge always elicits as if the instrument itself were singing. You all have captured the essence of the original yet taken it up a thousand fold. Annalise you are always so stunning to watch, your beauty just soothes me and makes me feel at peace. Your voice is always so filled with emotion and I felt every note here, on an almost spiritual level. The bass has the perfect combination of rhythm and power and oh my goodness Mike you honored the Edge with that performance. I also love how the background instruments, keyboard and drums, although not visible to the eye are very apparent when listening to this. They hold everything else together. A haunting soul-touching trip into nostalgia and the pure joy of musicality. You've made my day and so much more. For this I thank you all. ❤❤ 😍
I last heard this song performed back in October 2023 at the Vegas Sphere, with the gigantic spectacle of U2's music combined with the visuals. This IMY2 performance hits just as hard and beautifully, even when it's on the other extreme of space and intimacy. Great job!
