    This is the perfect Beatles channel. The Beatles are really the only people I want to hear talking about The Beatles.

      Exactly! Nowadays you can find a lot of channels in TH-cam of people I don't know who they are, but they speak as if they were part of the story, not a few times misrepresenting the facts and even contradicting The Beatles themselves...

    On the other…so many people still drinking KoolAid, buying the breakup tropes.

    This was a real tough time for Paul -- losing the Beatles hurt him deeply -- in retrospect when John dumped Paul and the group it was the biggest mistake of his life and i guarantee regardless of what John said he missed them and regretted breaking up the group -- but John could not maintain a close relationship with The Beatles and be married to Yoko Ono - i have a loved one who i was very close to - when she moved in with her b/f she slammed the door on me - she was incapable of maintaining a relationship with me on any level once she committed to her b/f -- so i know how Paul felt -- thankfully Paul had a great wife, marriage, family life and great children - God Bless Paul

      John used the Beatles to escape his married life. Yoko recognized this, and realized she could replace both the Beatles and Cyn. She also opened the door for Brian's replacement, Klein. All disastrous to everyone, more or less. Love her music, but boy, what an operator.

    A. The title says March 1970. B. The description says 19.09.69? Which is it? If it is 19.09.69 that means this is the day before John said he was quitting the band.

      One other snippet of info, McCartney leaves for Scotland not too long after and the next time Lennon and McCartney speak to each other is on the phone in April 1970, where McCartney agrees and tells Lennon he's out.

    Talking about Abbey Road makes the Sep date seem more likely, but then he mentions that Mary has just started on cereal. On Sept 19, she was only 3 wks old. So the March 1970 date must be the correct one.

    For David Wiigg to miss the depth of Lennons lyrics, for him not to understand the wonderful play on words,
    "world/ 'turns' me on" - "wind is high/blows my mind" - "sky is 'blue' = sad/ makes me cry" , I mean...
    is Wigg a complete square, that he thought Lennon was just using old, worn out, overused phrases?
    He's supposed to be a journalist and he voices those ridiculous, clueless comments to Paul McCartney?

    crazy how McCartney was about to officially leave the band here. Also, he knew that Lennon was done with the group. Paul loved his bandmates and would have loved to keep them together. But, they betrayed him with their idiot alliance with Allen Klein. And that was mostly John's fault. It was John primarily who broke the band up. George would have stayed on with the band, doing some solo stuff and still creating with these guys.
    Yoko was not good for the band, it's fair to say. You can make excuses for her, but she did drag John away from the band a bit. She really did. She was jealous of John's love for these three. She is not innocent. Yoko wanted the Beatles apart, it was beyond obvious. Had she encouraged John to stay with the band, he would have. But she had NO influence to help get them back together sooner. They had more great music to create between them.

    • @markzappasodi
      @markzappasodi ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul did NOT know that John would be announcing that he was leaving the band the next day. I doubt that George would have stayed on much longer too.

    • @anthonyD2365
      @anthonyD2365 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DeSantis that is brilliant everything you say is true. It was soon after this that Paul releases the mccartney album. Which has the question and answer note, that says the Beatles are over. Paul couldn’t take it any longer. I wonder if Paul did not make that announcement if the Beatles would’ve stayed together, just to make an occasional record? I think the combination of John’s obsession with Yoko and Allen Klein was their undoing. If John had never met Yoko an hour, and Klein had never came along. I have a 99.9% feeling the Beatles for better or worse? Would have stayed together through the 70s.

    • @anthonyD2365
      @anthonyD2365 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just looked up the McCartney Album came out in April 1970. John announced it earlier and was told to shut up about it and they still went on to make Abbey Road or did John announce it after Abbey Road? Yoko before she met John had gone to Paul’s house? Looking for some manuscripts, And Paul said no go ask John. Big mistake!! if Paul would’ve dated her and start bringing her to the sessions, John Lennon would’ve went crazy. He would’ve told Paul to get her out of there.

      No I'm sorry but you are wrong. Please read the information about this interview clearly. It states that the interview was conducted on September 19, 1969. That is ONE DAY before John announced that he was leaving the Beatles! Paul's world would be rocked and shaken up severely after that announcement. He sounds relaxed here but within a day it would be totally different. ☹️
