Dirty, you're such an inspiration! You break down roller skating fundamentals in a way that's easy to understand and follow, with a warmth and humor that's totally endearing. Thanks to you I've rediscovered the joy of roller skating after 40 years. Your teachings have made such a positive impact to my life and I can't thank you enough! Keep up the GREAT work!!!
The timing on this series is perfect, skating got on my radar only a few days ago and it looks like so much fun! my skates are currently in the mail and I'm gonna try to teach myself with videos like this.
This was so informative. You know as a kid I roller skated with those steal(?) skates that hugged your runner, but as a teen I was all indoor skating because I love to dance to the music. I’m an oldie and set in my ways I guess. All 30 skaters did great!! There’s the one girl that resembles a 70’s roller derby girl named Skinny Minnie aka Gwen Miller. Loved watching her during her roller derby days. Keep on skating!!🥰🥰🛼🛼
I have a quick question. Is skating through water, or on wet streets/roads/sidewalks a sure way to "ugly" fall or does that just depend on the type of wheels you have on your skates? Like, maybe if you live in a area that gets a lot of rain a person should use these type of wheels vs a place where its low desert and temps are hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, then use these kind. Thanks in advance for your help. 🙏❤️🌟🛼😊
I'm over In Ventspils, Latvia. I wish here was classes like this and any in/outdoor rinks. 😭 Seems like rollerskates ain't popular here (only seen people skating with inlines). Even despite that I got my Moxi Beach Bunnies from Amazon (because shipping from official site to here were in 3 digits, and there's no Moxi or Sure-Grip skates in any sport gear store) recently, and gonna go outside and practice in this outside basketball court. Thanks for videos! ❤
I have been hoping for an outdoor series for newbies like me for a long time. I really enjoy indoor skating, but there is something about being outdoors on wheels that’s truly fun and freeing. I just lack the confidence and skill to do much other than skate tennis courts. I hope you continue the outdoor adventure! I already have this video ready to play on my phone and will be replaying it every time I head out to practice! Thank you!!!
Dirty thank you sooo much I'm a new subscriber and I've already learned so much from your videos! I went out today and learned to get down low to correct and how to stop. You are amazing at explaining everything step by step, it is so easy to follow. I'm going to keep practicing thanks again!!
This is awesome! Absolutely loved this video and seeing beginners braving all the obstacles. Hats off to everyone! I'm still in the scoping-out-places-to-skate phase and too afraid to get out in the street lol we need a class like that in Baltimore! :)
I would love something like this near me! I'm in the DFW area and it's too hot to exist outside right now, but I'm trying to practice my fundamentals so I can at least go skating around my neighborhood with my partner when it's not so awful out.
I absolutely loved this video!!! 👏💓Definitely one of my favorites! love seeing everybody getting together and figuring it all out! I also really love seeing the difference of everybody in the beginning compared to towards the end, everybody seemed way more confident, it was awesome!! Keep up these amazing, motivating tutorial videos DD and RL you are beautiful souls💓🌞🌕✨💫🪐🌎🌙💪😎
I enjoy your videos. Age 75, been skating a long time but 2.5 months ago, I had hip replacement surgery. Just now trying to get back on my quads. My doctor is more nervous than myself. ha. Great videos.
Oh fantastic! I took a horrific fall at the rink and hit my back on the right angle of the curb while stepping onto the rink. That curb at the rink is my fear so I must overcome it. It was a bad fall but I'm 95% healed and skating again. I love skating outside but skate on an asphalt trail. I gotta conquer those curbs and I've wondered about the bumpy things that go from the sidewalk to the street. I'm going to. practice outside skating off the trail and downtown. Thank you for this video!!
Debbie, I ❤ your videos. You make skating look easy; however, I’m struggling. I’m determined and will continue watching your videos, practicing, and hopefully, one day, I can skate like you.
Hey Dirty D, so much fun and although I know I'd have my share of falls it would be nice to join you out there. Enjoy the experience with everyone and thanks for sharing. Happy skating! Sending you love✌🏼😉💕
I skate in Harrisburg PA. It’s pretty sketchy since we have a lot of sub-par roads and tons of obstacles but it’s still doable on quad skates with 57mm wheels (although my chewed up king pins suggest I need to go with bigger wheels).
Omg😂 that ending!!! Rollie's got me Rollin' in laughter!!!😂. "you gonna go!?". Post man looking at you like, no ma'am not today!!! 😂😂😂. Skating Hemet streets I feel like the debris is outta hand!!! But that sure footed stagger stance pulls me through every time!!!

Just went to website events... I could find nothing listed. I sure wish that I had known about this event. I would've signed up and been there. I need help with overcoming fear of going over bumpy surfaces (eg: cobblestone, wooden surfaces, etc). This class would've been great to go to! I'll keep checking back to the store's website and hope to find a class listed again soon. Thanks for all your videos!
Been watching and skating for a while and I’m from New York but go to California Los Angeles area every month and I want to come skate with you guys how can I make that happen?
I live in Thailand and have no one to skate with. There are no rinks here, or even tennis courts to practice on. I'm an extreme beginner, and have just started to skate outdoors. But I am just starting to move past the bubble stage to start trying to lift my feet. But I'm trying! Surfaces here are horrible. So right now I'm limited on where to skate until I get better with balance and confidence. I'm using 78a's, so hopefully I will be able to try some of the crappy surfaces at some point. The place I'm practicing on is very narrow, so I can't even practice turns yet. 😕
I have a lot of questions how do you stop, how do I turn,do i need to lower my legs and put my hands out,and is it ok to learn in your house without skates.
I have a question. 3wks ago I broke my hip & had hip replacement. When I asked the PT if I could EVER roller skate again, he asked what I was thinking, being 60yrs of age. (I wanted to throw my shoes at him!!!) All I do is roll forward and stop. Do you know of any success stories of skaters with hip replacement surgery?
I was thrown off an electric scooter when it went out of control wobbling like crazy on the handle bars and foot pad after going over one of those bumpy yellow grates. In fear of what would happen to my feet, I lifted them a little to get them out of the way, extended my arm to protect my face/head (road rash proved that was a good move anyway) and turned my body to my left, crashing into the pavement. Basically, not fun.
Dirty your the best. I was wondering if you could talk about building confidence for older people that haven't skated in 43 years like me.. I want to skate again but I'm a bit afraid to because I'm not as skinny as I use to be. I was once really good at skating but now I'm unsure of myself.. So can you please talk about building confidence? Thanks again for what you do to help us all...
I'm in AZ in the Phoenix area and skating outdoors here seems impossible because there are rocks everywhere and often the sidewalks have spots that are literally just covered in rocks that people have kicked out from the designated decorative rocks area that is along nearly every sidewalk. I don't think there's a way to skate over that many rocks, and getting through without hitting any of them is impossible.

Should I get a new pair of skates for outdoors? I don’t want to ruin my new wheels and skates I use for indoors!
