Lol, After watching this video I order two, one for me and one for my son. I don't mind paying good money since I did see how they made it and it's made here in America. In the future, I'll buy the work boots. :)
Great to see and love the craftmenship! I would just comment though that the video's audio mixed killed me at the end, the music comes in way too loud compared to the rest of the video and made me need to turn it down. Just worth noting for next time, otherwise it was filmed and produced great too!
Were my eues twisted or was the brand mark inside the belt so that if you wear it in a normal way, it would be upside down? Of course no-one would see it but jus knowing it would drive me insane :).
I have had belts like this they last from 5 to 10 years but then the stitching gives way from abrasion from things hung from the belt also the holes start to get elongated and evenly tare through. My current 12 year old belt is made from 1 piece of thicker Bison leather with steel gromits around every hole and those holes go the full distance of the belt , there are 5 large rivets that hold the stainless steel buckle in place and the fold over is 110mm long. I guess if you baby anything, it could last a lifetime, but that's not what belts are for !
Are you talking about a belt made by Nicks, or similar quality, or a cheaper leather belt you can buy anywhere? I have a red wing belt that has lasted me almost a decade, wearing it every day for work, as a tradesmen in industrial construction also. The holes haven't stretched, and other than the leather getting softer, it is barely showing any signs of wear and looks like it will last another 10 years easily. I'm willing to bet a belt made by Nicks would be just as tough.
@@chermanch69 similar quality made other tiheoryicly better materials , I got basically $20 spend on a belt . But if his thread is sum how stronger or leather or physics is sum how different please explain how .
@ve5vv I'm going to guess quality of leather, and better stitching. I'm no belt expert, and I only have a sample size of 1 for my experience with a good belt, but it's made a huge difference having a good belt. I used to always buy cheap belts and would need to buy a new one every year or two. I only bought the red wing belt because it was the only belt my size at the work clothing store I went to, and I had no other options. I didn't really want to spent almost $100 at the time on a belt, but in the long term it was a great investment!
@@chermanch69 I find the less stress you put on them the longer they last ( higher quality ones last longer under a given amount of stress ) and abrasion like from keeping things on your belt is extremely hard on stitches ( like if you have pouches for tools lethermen , pen light , knife , epi pe....) Thats why I got a belt with no stitches. A lot of them are made reactive metal fittings like carbon steel , bras , bronze , pot mettle or mystery alloy which is great if you are not around salt water . I got stainless steel because dont want to modify my life to help my clothing
@@nederlanditisnederlanditis5529 leather pants are very different than a leather belt. 😂 If your leather pants were as thick as a good belt you wouldn't be able to walk in them. I'm not suggesting 2 thin pieces of leather instead of one thick one. I'm saying 2 thick quality pieces of leather. This isn't my opinion. This is something any good belt maker knows.
@@nederlanditisnederlanditis5529 I wasn't speaking specifically about the belt in this video. Make a belt out of 15 ounce thick leather, then make a belt out of 10 ounce thick leather backed with 5 ounce thick oak tanned leather. The 2-ply will stretch less. It's the better way to make a belt. As far as this belt specifically? I don't know. Nick's thickest leathers are about 8 ounces I think, which is pretty damn thick generally speaking. What do they back it with? 🤷♂️ I'm gonna GUESS 5 ounce oak tanned leather? Resulting in 13 ounce thick? If so, I would rather have a 13 ounce 2-ply than a 13 ounce single piece. The 13 ounce 2 ply would be stronger and stretch less.
Tandy leather and Weaver leather have blanks even cheaper. But will the finished product look as pretty or match your boots perfectly? I guess at that point it's up to your tools and ability to stitch, trim, punch holes, and finish the edges.
I'm currently wearing a belt I made from a 12-13oz fun grain blank purchased from Weaver for about $22. It's nice and I like it a lot, but it's not nearly as pretty as this. Not to mention the leather tools that I've spent over $100 on. Not everyone wants to buy a belt like this, not everyone wants to make their own. I think I'll do both.
Very happy to see Nicks showcasing the beauty of their craftsmanship. Proud Overlanders owner.
Me too bud! 👍🏼 best there is! The only thing better than a pair of nicks boots is two pair lol hopefully soon
@@spaldingpickers120 haha I know that feeling!
Ok I just ordered this exact belt and size and it’s supposed to arrive tomorrow… I’m just gonna claim this one was mine lol. So awesome!
Hope you enjoy it!

I have worn the same belt for 8 years. Its nearing they end of it's service. I guarantee my next belt will be by Nick's.
Excellent choice!
Thinking I should've got a matching belt with my boots.... what would a rough out belt look like.....
🥲 Like peeling an onion. Brings a tear to the eye. Love the craftsmanship and quality of your products.
This imagery wins.
Can't wait to get another belt from Nick's, that new stitched dress leather is phenomenal
Nick, very nice leather work. I also do leather work. It’s always nice to see other craftsman’s work. Best regards, Richard
That belt is THICC! Other accessories coming? Gonna get on the ratchet system?
Yeah a ratcheting belt would be awesome.
Sometimes I wish I could smell youtube.
It’s so cool to see how much care is put in to everything they make, even something as simple as a belt
Best belt I have owned.
Beautiful craftsmanship. Also like the Garmin, great watches.
what is the thickness like 6mm? also did the client not ask for the side to be mirror polished?
With love from Ukraine🤗! I have a dream about Nicks
My next Nicks purchase !!
A good choice!

Love from Canada
I wonder if the belt could be made black on one side and brown on the other and just by a turn of the buckle can be used either side.
Like the new style belt really nice I have the standard belt its a big step up
Thanks
Coming in next week to get my sizing done…might have to leave with a belt 😍
Sounds like a great plan to us!
Nice belt, thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Good work💕
All of that craftsmanship to not burnish the edges? Great looking belt otherwise.
I noticed the hot stamp machine hooked up to the arbor press... Where did you get it or how did you make it???
Nice belt but edges should be dyed and burnished. Hand stitching, saddle stitch, is much stronger than machine.
great video, great product!
Edges not burnished?
Surprised its not burnished
Are these the belts that are sold on your website or was this a one off belt.
This is one of our new heritage belts, they are on our site now!
Awesome belt!great work
Thank you! Cheers!
What the lead times for heritage belts

SUPER!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, what’s the overall thickness?
The belt is two layers of 6.5 oz leather.
Can one of these be ordered in Burgundy? I'd like to have one to match my boots?
Sir how much it's cost ?
Gyönyörű.👍
Do the belt come in black?
They sure do!

Hand stitch for durability. Machine stitch for economy.
Can you guys make BIG boy sizes pls?
No C was transferred to the material of the belt during this recording session.
Que pegamento se utiliza para los cinturones
I'm surprised how unfinished the edges are.. need to rub a antler over it a few times to justify the price
We want a 1964 one!

Awesome 😎
Thanks 🤗
I like the belt. But, it isn't finished.
My belt is falling apart.no more cheap belts, just watched your video and ordered a heritage belt in brown.
Surprised it is not skived where it wraps around the buckle
I wish you made wallet’s too.
Now that's a belt for when shit hits the fan my friends!!👍
My belt from nicks don't look like that one, mine seems to be made of one single thick pice of leather shape into a belt
We make 2 different types of belts, a 2-layer belt with our CXL leathers, and a 1-layer belt with our work leathers

I see your logic, but it is hard to get leather that thick, and being 2-ply helps avoid stretch too.
