    Pure serendipity finding this video on a Friday... being in a new city with no friends or family is challenging and lonely... and when the waves arise, most of the time, I escape or numb. Seeing you cry, pray, and take it on the pillow hit me hard. I need to do that. Thanks for sharing this and not giving us the happily ever after of fairy tales.

      @benny_ngch yes, I have!!! I put myself out there and showed up for yoga, salsa, and hip hop classes... made 1 friend, and that friend connected me with many more. This place that felt so strange 6 months ago now feels like home. Thanks for checking in 💕

    What a beautiful ending. The misdirection from revealing your girlfriend to playing a duet with yourself instead, then the montage reminiscing your past self by playing back the clips from earlier in the video, and the little turn of your head to yourself as you finished off playing the song. What a great way to hold our attention and round out the video. Beautiful job :)

    Honestly, with your level of self awareness, your easy going personality (as far as I can tell), your desire to grow as a person, your insights and your sense of humor, I can tell you, as a woman who has high expectation when it’s come to men, that you are above average and I can’t imagine you would have a problem with finding a good woman, truly.

    • @AC-mp7cx
      @AC-mp7cx ปีที่แล้ว +33

      that fact that you said he has all that and still just said hes "above average" lol
      What does "high expectation even mean"

      its weird that men constantly have to chase and feel like theyre enough for women

    • @svlagonda7417

      Unfortunately 99.99% of women just want $$$$$ or status in a partner.

    • @rerikm
      @rerikm ปีที่แล้ว +15

      can't believe she actually had the nerve to describe him as "above average", almost as if making him a favour. specially after pointing out great things about him.
      Women nowadays are completely delusional!
      What the hell do they expect to find for a partner?

      You don't need to fight against every statement or mind people speak out here. If it doesn't fit in your world, just skip it and its done. Stop looking for the wrong in other people if it doesn''t fullfill your view and expectations, even if its "100%" wrong in your and many guys. Find a human that fits into your favourite mind, compass and character@@rerikm

    I have never met a man that self reflected the way you are doing it. You are such a precious person. As one of the men said in your interviews, at the right time the chosen one for you will appear. I‘ve reflected a lot over the last 7 years. I learned so much about me. And it‘s an ongoing process. Finally I found peace within myself and the ability to love myself.

    My mother left when I was 6 months. I lacked self love and many other traits. I was blessed to meet her when I was 39 year. Thanksgiving 2022. I was aware of my own issues and saw hers. I thought if she loved me I would be whole. I still felt empty. I learned that I must find love for myself. Everything comes from within. Looking outside brings a lot of grief. We don't control others. Master oneself to be whole. Every day is a battle. Mentally, physically, and spiritually.

    The best way to meet someone special is within your immediate culture, circle of friends, family, relatives and acquaintances. Join clubs, volunteer groups or faith based organizations. Meeting others with common interests is an indirect way to find someone. My best advice is don't try so hard, just let it happen. Listen to the Jamaican guy sitting in the Park bench, the man really knows what he is talking about.

    Hi Eric, youtube randomly suggested this video. So glad, it came on my feed! God is trying to speak to me through you. I totally relate to all you said because I’m a young 27 year old single woman trying to navigate through adulthood and love-life. But, it only appears that I need to build a better relationship with myself and stop chasing love. But, on the other side, I hope you’re doing well! I hope you’re continuing to work on yourself and you doing a 100 times better than what I’ve watched on the video which is from a year ago. Also, boy you’re incredibly talented! Loved the mini-documentary on your love life. It’s was simple, wholesome and beautifully conveyed. No jazz or no bullshit. You’re very artistic and talented. Keep up the amazing work👏🏻 Continue doing the good work you’re already doing. Big love

    • @bernhardtrian7471
      @bernhardtrian7471 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it would be more comforting if Woman and Men got surrounded by people with exactly their same situation. Age growing, difficulty to navigate although you might be a very kind, easy and fullfilling person (ofcourse with advantages and disadvantages because no one can be perfect). The part in the video where he said "finding peace with your single life" is very important. We are all ment to find a partner someday, but we are scared that this won't happen, even if we tryhard outside. Out of 7 billion people, there must be someone somewhere :) For me it was important to gain experience from the other gender, wether is is hanging out, conversations, hobbies, entertainment, worldview or sex. If you all get that a little bit, it is soooo much easier. Well, for me it was, speaking only for me. But after a certain age, time and past experience, you get more and more to the point where you know what you exactly want. You just have to fight constantly the surrounding of you. Friends who get into relationships. who marries or even breaks up. You really don't need confirmation from outside if you are already happy with yourself. And you don't have to lie to yourself, just be really open to others and to yourself

    I saw your video of the pensioner Brit, married to an American.
    This is a great video. Basically we need people in order to really find ourselves. It's through interaction and relating to anybody and everybody that we finally bounce, bump, walk or run into the companionship, where harmony and peace prevail. No need to speak, just be. Too much time alone can leave us completely self serving! Is this good or bad? You decide! In Eric's case, deep down he already realises this: hence a quest for the shared highs, lows and joys! He's such a nice guy I can't see why it wouldn't happen! ❤

    First time watching this channel. I admire your vulnerability to share your growth with the world. I am newly divorced after a 15 year marriage and I wish I had taken the time to get to REALLY know myself before falling for the societal trap of marriage. Nobody tells you the ugly side of marriage: Divorce. which is a money making machine fro family courts and attorneys. Props to you for living your life in such a poetic way .

    Just subscribed and am enjoying watching you videos which I am finding cathartic because I am an open minded friendly American who lives in Switzerland where mots people are neither spontaneous nor particularly friendly. I think that connecting with people everyday including strangers in a meaningful or casual but respectful manner fundamentally changes the quality of life. Not being able to do this reminds me of the scene from Space Odyssey when Dave travels into open space in the pod to retrieve the body of his fellow space traveller and then returns to the mother ship with him in the pod's arms and is refused entry. Thank you very much for your thoughtful and thought provoking videos.

    I think a lot of people fail to understand that when you dial it all back, dating is how you find out what you want and what you don’t want in a relationship. And a lot of the time if you’re not already okay with yourself and who you are it just makes the whole process even harder.
    But dating is the best way to learn relationships in real time and it presents you with situations and new discoveries of things you would often never even dream about when it comes to relationships.
    So while it can be extremely exhausting, like all things there is so much to be learned from the process. And when you’re able to look at it from that perspective it might not feel so much like a chore.❤

    At 3:30. The rejection part is the most difficult part of cold contact dating like this. You have to get used to various reasons why you won't make a connection with a woman. If I told a person they would get rejected 41 times by women and on number 42 would meat the love of their life and future spouse, would they go through all that rejection? Most likely, but then again we don't know who that woman we approach is or if she will accept you. I would stay off dating apps of possible because that does a real head number on you. The rejection level is very high with little success. Live is the way to go.

    Damn. Life seems to be hard at times, harder than we might realise at first glance. But from time to time we might be given a clear enough sign for us to notice, just what it is that we can do about it. This video seems to be that sign for me. I've watched it before, just didn't seem to have clicked at that time.

    Self love isn't a replacement for romantic love. They feel completely different. You can love yourself and be comfortable with yourself all you want. But it feels completely different when someone wants to hug you, kiss you, be intimate with you, listen to you, talk to you and share life experiences with you.

    I know it sounds cliche but they really come when you stop looking. I'm an asian guy living in Germany and I dated for a few years which was just exhausting. It had its ups and downs but so I stopped. I guess when I stopped looking, my energy, my vibes changed and that's what attracted the right woman for me. I'm now happily married with a lovely daughter. On hindsight, I guess if one is trying hard, then that person emits a different vibe which in turn attracts the wrong person. Stop chasing gents and work on yourselves!

    Amazing talks ... indeed, God knows what you need and He give it in His perfect time. If you are in the season of waiting He knows that relationship is not what you need in that season so instead of looking make yourself available of doing what makes you a better or best person for your future relationship.

    learn to love yourself because how can you love others when you don't even love yourself or how can you expect others to like you when even you don't like you. You can't love others effectively when you don't have love in your heart already. That's one thing this video reminds me of.

    Watched the entire thing without looking at the view count, subs, etc. I genuinely thought I was watching a multi-million subscriber, high-quality production video with millions of views. I was stunned after I checked, only to see 12k views.
    I'm in a weird state where I almost have anything I want in life that I want, but not a girlfriend. I only had one relationship, and it was a super toxic and abusive one that has mentally damaged me. I never went to a therapist or anything about it, and even though I have a job, health, family, hobbies that I'm really passionate about, skills that I wanted and I acquired... I just feel empty.
    I feel like even when I was in that abusive relationship, everything was kind of OK because I had her. Looking back, I realize that's why I put up with all that toxicity because I knew that I would feel empty without a relationship.
    So I was thinking of moving to NYC to start a new life and to potentially find love there, which is why I searched up and found this video. I definitely think I need to give it another watch to fully grasp what has been mentioned here and what exactly "the work" is.
    What I have grasped so far is that accept the pain, cry, do whatever but don't try to tuck the pain away. Experience it.
    We'll see how it goes.

      Glad you found my video. Yes, that's the TLDR. It's OK to feel a little bit like something is missing without a companion, that's natural. If it starts getting painful or heavy it may be an indicator that something else is awry.

    Nice video.
    It's sad how many people are just being told to take medication to deal with negative emotions instead of addressing the source of them.
