Have a feeling this set will be printed heavily...BUT i also think it will be into early spring before the supply catches up with the demand. The best play might be to sell whatever pre-orders you have at launch for the market rate, then wait until it actually becomes available widely again to re purchase and hold long-term, ASSUMING we hit that point again, which i think we will in a years time or so.
I don’t get how these masterballs made people even more excited!? It made me less excited because that in combination with how difficult it is going to be to get prismatic evolutions, will make it impossible to complete a master set.. it made me regret all the pre-orders 😂
Do people forget when 151 japanese boxes were at 200, then went down to $40/box in may 2024. If these were booster boxs maybe I would agree. Not on walmart product though

Do not! I repeat.. DO NOT preorder at these prices. This set will be out there until 2027. Play the long game and find them as big box stores restock. Heck Crown zenith came out 1/20/23 and you can still get them at Sam’s club at a great price per pack. These specialty sets print a lot longer than sets like surging sparks.
This is CZ all over again.... There will be more than you think. Stay calm. This is the same game year after year. Just have funds for when it comes. Most people simply have emotional spending so they never just wait and put that money aside. Also everyone says the same things... "this time is different". I mean go watch videos of the passed 4 years. You will hear the same exact phrases and buzz words over and over. The same thing over and over. It's on YOu to be ready when it comes.

Not to mention the next set won't be released for a couple months. And once that comes out everyone will be after the partner set and the rocket set. If people want to pay over msrp because they think it will run out go ahead. I'll wait, I have pre orders in already and nothing over msrp. Then I'll pick up what I can at big box stores and go from there.
It's not about only the masterballs, those were confirmed pretty much from the start. Prismatic would do great even without those. We see that with 151. 151 english didn't get the master balls and is still doing incredible things. With Prismatic Evolutions, the thing that gives me tempation to buy more prismatic than I already pre-ordered, at higher prices, is because I'm afraid my pre-orders will get canceled. That is messed up imo...you can't even be sure you get your pre-orders now...

It all depends on your goal, if your goal is to flip, that is literally the ONLY reason to overpay. If you want to open packs just wait, because you will have opportunities. Big box stores don't charge market. So you WILL GUANATEED have opportunities, plain and simple.

I managed to grab a few pre-orders of ETBs sold by Walmart/fulfilled by Walmart for $80. I'm going to assume their pre-order price guarantee charges me their normal price of $54.99 I believe when it releases. Outside of that I haven't paid over MSRP for any prismatic except for PC ETBs.
The singles is gonna be cheaper than the actual box. Not buying at inflated prices. Just look for it on retail store. You just have to do some labor to look for it.

They know this is going to be a heavy purchase set and I'm pretty sure they realize with how popular surging sparks was and how they didn't print enough of it they'll increase their print run for this set. You are operating under the assumption that things today are the same as they were when crown zenith released. It's not the same man. The level of demand now is so much higher, and they have a LOT of sets to reprint and even more that have yet to be printed. You can continue to operate like things are the exact same, but the rest of us are going to adapt our approach.

I think the advice depends on the audience, if your audience is more collector focused, $11 a pack right out the gate is rough.
Yeah especially when you can open way older packs for a similar price. Best bet for those people is to buy singles.

I think you are 100% wrong. It is not the same as crown zenith. The demand during crown zeniths release was nowhere near what it is now.
