    This is the ultimate off-roading. All done on 31" tires.

    Winches, traction mats and teamwork was all that was needed.

    This was the greatest marketing ever. I was a kid in the 1990's and knew very little about cars, but had seen a quick take of couple minutes of this in the news... and remembered it forever- that the Discovery was the greatest off road vehicle and one must buy a Land Rover. I would honestly buy a Camel Trophy built Land Rover at the dealer, new, exactly as shown on the Camel Trophy.

    Too bad no Hummers allowed, my Hummer h3 with 37ss posi full time front n rear and extra Heavy Duty suspention all around. I would luv to go on any of these adventures. Bring it on USA BUILT TRUCK!!! I will say tho all those Land Rovers did an outstanding journey, Great run Fellas!!! One thing more, The makers of these races and films should show the preperation of the Trucks, such as Waterproofing and sealing Elec. ect. Letting us all see the real work involved!!! It's Great, Stay Safe Always, and Run it Hard n Stay Blessed.....

      +LoneLongRider Keep it up my friend! More and more people are getting used to the comfort in their homes and not willing to experience this real work with their bodies. There is a saying in Chinese, walking ten thousand miles is much better than reading ten thousand books. Of course reading is important, but getting out there and experience it yourself is what will stay with you. People talk down on you because deep down they are jealous that they couldn't do the same as you. Don't let the naysayers influence you! This will be your journey of life, be safe and be smart. I am sure what you learn from this journey will worth much more than what you may learn in university.

    Discovery's forever I own 2 of them best vehicle ever made. They don't need giant lifts with 40" tires just guts and a little team work.

  • @creak92
    @creak92 11 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Lifting your trucks in order to fit large tires won't help you here. Even the stock Land Rovers with their low center of gravity rolled over in some situations so your lifted trucks will lay on their roofs half the time :P
    Also you can't just increase track width to tackle this problem, the tracks are too narrow to do so.
    Awesome driving but Landrover should have stopped earlier, 1997 and 1998 just aren't as impressive as before.

    • @myrongaines5542
      @myrongaines5542 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock landrovers rolled because of dangerously narrow wheels and tires along with too much weight on top. It was an example of how not to wheel in those conditions

    The Defender has always been and always will be the worlds best 4x4.. I'd love one but around the city they are like driving a Tractor......So I have a Discovery 2 which has not put a beat wrong in 13 years and has nice leather seats , air con and walnut dash.. Guess i like comfort as we all as capability.
