I am the Lead Designer from Undying. So glad it still has a following all these years later. Thanks for posting this video. good to take a trip back. I wish we could have continued but it was not to be. Still extremely proud of what the team created, especially with the technology back then.
Hello, Mr. Siefert! Thank you for noticing my video and thanks for your comment! Your game had a very unique atmosphere and some levels are etched in my memory. Everytime I see pictures of old monasteries in Ireland I have to think of your "The Monastery"-mission. I wish there would have been more similar games of you guys. But I see that you worked on The Legacy of Kain, too. That's one of my next projects. I appreciate your legacy very much! 🙏
Ah thanks. glad you dig those projects. i agree it would be fun to revisit the world or something similar but those are forces beyond my control.@@GameIntrosFinales
I still play this game...I wish we got Undying 2...also it's sad that this game is kinda forgotten these days...so much potential and so much creativity in this MASTERPIECE !
I particularly liked the combination of firearm in the left hand and magic in the right hand, and of course the atmosphere, to which the very good sound design contributes a lot.
@@GameIntrosFinales Bioshock is kinda similar to Undying...Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2, Mysteries of the Sith and Requiem The Avenging Angel as well.
Never heard of this game until now. The combat and weapons are cool as hell, especially shooting down Clive's demented creations. Reminds me a lot of Bioshock's combat, especially 2 with being able to use weapons and Plasmids without switching, which is even better for me since 2 is my favorite in the series .
Yeah, and you can power up the spells up to level 5, so you even have a kind of mini-skill system. If you want to buy it: it's available at GOG, but Steam doesn't offer it, at least in my country.
I always thought the Howlers were a different breed of Wendigos, they feast on human flesh too! Seeing how they chop up and swallow Patrick's head was absolutely terrifying, the Unreal Engine 1 used here was so effective for the terror we witnessed.
From the one in-game cutscene and the ending cutscene: Long ago, druids entombed a celtic warrior alive in a ritual to act as a seal against a portal to somewhere...somewhen. That monster in the end was a guardian of sorts, and there are many spots like this all around the world. (possible nod to sequels) The covenant family played with dark magic in that same spot when they were children, and they transferred the part of the undying magic of the seal to themselves, becoming wicked, corrupted undead monstrosities. They wanted to undo the seal and take the power of the magic for themselves. But the ritual continued in their blood, and as long as they 'lived', the seal was safe. An ancient, evil artifact known as the Scythe of the Celts was the only weapon effective against this undying curse, and they could only be killed by that weapon.

but why? the way it ended…
Wow. Thanks for being involved in the creation of such an amazing game.
Sir this game was way ahead of its time, The atmosphere, the environments, the enemies.
This game is such an underrated gem.
The most underrated game in the world !

Dispel Magic spell insta-kills scarrows and veragos...especially useful against veragos as they are very deadly in nightmare difficulty!

I still have the original copy when it came out

Nice uploaded my friend 👍🏻
Thanks!
I love undying played it and still do millions of times the scariest section was lizabeths chapter in my opinion
Trying to find the names of those floating heads with arms was driving me crazy. Thank you!
Thanks for the video
You're welcome!
These are the kinds of games that the makers of Doom would want to remake or better if Clive Barker is gonna make a new game involving ID Software.
Subes muy buenos videos sigue así 👍
¡Gracias por su apoyo!

We need remake or at least a remaster of this gem .
Decades before RE Village to be a thing.
The best outdoor weapon is speargun + thunder (even it is empty the mana) :D
I've never played this. What is the Undying King's backstory?

Hell, Yeah
It's always nice to see man, magic and gunpowder working together to beat Lovecraftian wannabes. Humanity Fuck Yeah!
bellissimo video, gran gioco!
Прикольная игра спасибо за видео ты лучший бро
Спасибо за поддержку!
Wow... I've seen it a lot of times but haven't gotten around to buying it...might do later...I've only played jericho but this looks interesting
I bought it on GOG a year ago and didn't regret it :)
Reminds me of nightmare creatures 1 and 2
Hmm, never heard of these games, but they look interesting.
RW:tbh i almost mistaken this game for the Evil Dead series.😕
Scariest game ever imo.
Yes, there were hardly any horror shooters at the time, maybe Alice or Alien vs Predator, but that was about it. A remake would be nice.
