- The World Poker Tour (WPT) is a series of international poker tournaments and associated television series broadcasting the final table of each tournament. It was started in the United States by attorney/television producer Steven Lipscomb, who served as CEO of WPT Enterprises (WPTE), the firm that controlled the World Poker Tour up to November 2009. In 2008, the WPT started offering bracelets to its event champions. Players who won a title prior to the release of the WPT Bracelet, were given one retroactively.

Watching old poker games is a fascinating glimpse into how things have changed. You'd rarely see the two biggest chipstacks at a final table battle it out now. Certainly not when one of them is a "pro".

dot com might be little arrogant but the crowd dint have to be so mean to him. He had 3 big calls to make in the game, he folded the first 2 and called the last... all were bad calls. Tats why he is out.
Sometimes the cards play the player, mr..com made reckless judgments even with pairs of 4 ..TJ should have called Mr. .com ,he had almost a straight .

I liked the chips in season one Paris episode more than any other chips, also these look lame.

Yeah, it's definitely a blind structure issue.
It’s the way the tournament is structured….The blinds and antes are so high you are basically pot committed most of the ones you play. It’s the only thing I hated about the WPT
@@philiptucker7590 But this was also the era when a standard raise was 3x+. In today's game, most guys will just raise the minimum or just barely over the minimum.
I do more calling than raising. Why should I put chips on the table when I don't have to.
These players are just so transparent by today's standards. Phillips is especially terrible. Folds when he should call and calls when he should fold. Imagine so of today's high stakes tournament sharks playing against these guys. No contest

How old are you? This was during a time when most these players were just beginning or amateur poker players. Yeah some are big names now but back then this was their first major appearance to the poker community…ICM was not a thing back in 2004/2005 buddy
